Better Call Saul! - Breaking Bad Spinoff A Go At AMC

Three episodes in, I'm liking where this show is going a lot. I don't think it needs to rely on BB cameos to be interesting, either. Chuck, Kim and Nacho all have potential to be good characters.

I too am loving this show! I agree that prior BB viewing is only icing on the Cinnabon here, not required. I'm hoping this show takes off since Bob deserves it. I know they always meant to have BB as a set amount of episodes and that was great but I could see this go on for some time. Would be cool to have Jesse and Walt cameo in season down the road and get things from Saul's perspective but I could also see them ending the series with that fateful meet up in the desert. Either way I am on board and ready for Vince and co to take me on a wild ride!

Yea, all that was brought up last week. Such an awesome and subtle connection.

For any1 interested how we break #BetterCallSaul: finished 103 board. Act 1 break changed, & Nacho originally "Lalo"

Is that Vaas from Far Cry 3?

It is! I knew I recognized him somewhere!

I've finally caught up, and am loving the show so far. So great to be hooked on a new show again. At first I didn't think Tuco seemed as nuts as he was before, but as the second episode went on, it was totally the Tuco I remember.

Decent enough episode. Not the best, but it does lay out plenty of story threads and plotlines for future episodes.

I was glad we finally got the "origin" of [BLACKOUT] the alias Saul Goodman/s'all good, man[/BLACKOUT]. Didn't expect it this early in the show.

I loved the scene where Chuck was getting the paper, and then it cut to his neighbor's perspective.

Jimmy's friend, the lawyer lady, has grown on me. She's a cool character.

She was always pretty awesome on Franklin & Bash.

Loved seeing Jimmy working in Chicago.

The billboard gag was awesome...

Interesting that Jimmy started out as a scumbag. His trajectory goes up and down, unlike Walter White's.

Loved that Slippin' Jimmy scheme at the beginning of the episode. Almost makes me ashamed that I didn't see the billboard thing for what it was right away.

Another good episode. I'm glad life and limb don't have to be at stake with every episode. Otherwise it could get one-note very quickly.

Well this really isn't much different than BrBa was at this stage of the game. We had those first few episodes where Walt and Jesse were in danger from Krazy 8 and Emilio, and Walt had to struggle with the notion of killing Krazy 8, but then they followed that up with Walt telling his family about his cancer and going to the Schwartzes' party and Jesse staying with his family. In the early days, they were really able to alternate the intense episodes with semi-lowkey ones. Before it all became almost nonstop mayhem.

Yeah, I get that. I like the variety.

On another note, I'm guessing the crux of this season if not this entire series will revolve around the choice that Jimmy has to make regarding whether to put himself or his brother first. Based on where he ends up I think he chooses himself and loses his soul and eventually becomes Saul Goodman. I'll bet it costs his brother his life in the end. We'll see.

Another great episode. I'm glad it's 10 episodes, each episode feels like it's slowly gaining momentum to the season finale.

I REALLY like Kim (both the actress and the character). She and Saul play off each other really nicely.

Yeah, I like her a lot, too. I liked that slight grin she gave during the news coverage.

Really? Kim to me is kind of boring right now. I want to like her more and I'm sure what they have planned for her will make her more interesting but for now she has this dull way about her.

I dig her, she's one of the many plot seeds that I can see grow into something bigger.
