Better Call Saul! - Breaking Bad Spinoff A Go At AMC

Wished there was more of Mike but i really liked the Kim/Jimmy scenes as well so I can't complain.

Anyone else thought at first that the last scenes of him accepting the job was a dream sequence? I kept on waiting for them to show him just daydreaming or something.

The new episode was so good the opening scene was amazing! I was just reminded how good this show is at informing the world of Breaking Bad with the backstory of Jimmy and Mike

Great episode. I'm very curious if they're going anywhere with these flashforwards. Part of me thinks the show might at some point transition entirely to a post-Breaking Bad time period, but part of me also thinks it will amount to nothing like the similar scenes in season 2 on Breaking Bad.

Excellent episode, better than last season's opener. My favorite subplot was the one involving Daniel Warmont and Nacho. I have a feeling Ol' Dan will soon be one of Jimmy's clients. Also, KENWINS's total inability to ever actually win is quite amusing. The actor plays a great *****ebag.

I'm curious to see how his job in Santa Fe will play out.

I think we'll have to see how his post-Saul life in Omaha plays out, just because the actors will age to the point they won't be able to pull off the prequel aspect anymore.

I was thinking this as well, however I never expected to have flashforwards in this prequel show so I'll take them as a great bonus.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. When he flipped that light switch, I almost expected everything to start going haywire like the hatch in Lost when they don't enter the numbers in the computer, lol.

It was edited very much like a dream sequence and Jimmy seemed pretty set against taking the job. But it wasn't him going straight again. The thing with the light switch implies he's still out there to only do what he wants.

Good premiere. Fascinating how this show can be slow paced and yet so interesting to watch. I loved getting the back and forth of the Jimmy who isn't quite Saul yet and Cinnabon worker who used to be in the thick of the action. Very well done. Best show on TV. I watched Talking Saul afterwards because Odenkirk and Vince were on.

Great to have Saul back! I really liked watching Playuh idiot his way along, it's great contrast to Walt -who made mistakes, but ultimately was a brilliant criminal.

I wonder if the humming bird had any significance? I wouldn't put it past these guys to have something tiny like that mean something later on. Also the artwork in Saul's new office looks like a guy slipping over...

This was a very good opener. Slow but every scene means something and the characters are so great it doesn't matter so when Jimmy takes that lawyer job at the end it feels like an even bigger step. This is definitely unexpected. I want to see Jimmy **** **** up working in an official law firm and this season has a bunch of possibilities now.

Vince was leaning to end Breaking Bad after three seasons and then four seasons. Then Sony-AMC-Vince struck the deal to split up season five (Vince's idea) over 2 years and the show exploded thanks to Netflix (and the amazing work they did on the show).

So I could see four seasons of Saul, maybe five since they're only doing 10 episodes a season. This second season was supposed to have 13 episodes but the writers felt they couldn't produce 13 episodes and have everything ready for the premiere in February so they went down to 10.

If it did go to season six, they would have to reboot the series and pick up post-Breaking Bad and have a season of Gene breaking bad.

The writer of this week's episode talked about how the writers would like to do 1 episode of Gene, but that likely would be in the last season.

Jimmy would already be Saul, say in the fourth season, getting adjusted to his new life and wrapping up everyone's story and then it ends with him meeting Walt. Then the series finale flash forwards to Gene reconnecting with Kim.

Surprised no one talked about this last night. Fantastic episode, but most Mike-focused episodes are. Chuck is such an a-hole trying to intimidate Jimmy like he is. Love watching Mike do his thing, with no fear of guys like Nacho.
