Better pair of movies? Alien-s or Terminator 1-2

So Terminator 2 is on tv right now and me and my brother start talking about which pair of movies is better. Alien and Aliens or Terminators 1 and 2? What do you guys think? We cant seem to come to a definite conclusion.

Of those four, the only one I can watch is Terminator 2. The others are overrated as hell.

Ok ....

Simply for flow, acting and repeat viewing I would make the winner Alien/Aliens.

But its almost an impossible call to make.

Each pair is just about flawless and I love them all.

Very difficult to choose,the interesting thing is structurally T1 and T2 are pretty similar and while Cameron advances his story i sometimes get the feeling he is playing out the cat and mouse action packed showdowns the way he would have in the first movie had he had the budget

Alien and Aliens are very different,the first is a dark,claustrophobic "house of horrors in space" all about sweaty tension and faux shocks leading into killer reveals
Aliens maintains the tension and oppressive feel but it's a war movie meets survival horror with a much higher quota of action and face offs than the first

I love both, but this is an easy choice for me: Alien & Aliens. Alien is probably the single greatest experience in pure terror in all of cinema (except for The Shining), and still manages to hold up completely well after nearly 30 years.

Aliens is quite possibly the most exciting movie ever made. It's definitely in my Top 10. Everything from the way it's paced to the acting to the story itself is perfect.

Alien is really really awesome, Aliens is meh. Terminator 1 and 2 are both really good.

That's tough. I'll have to go with the two Terminators, as they make the better set.

It's really close but I think I'll have to choose the Aliens movies. I love the Terminator movies too, but they are a bit too similar and are more standard action than Alien(s).

Alien and aliens. Both terminator movies are pretty good, but the first alien movie is a masterpiece, and second one is as good as both terminator could be.

Great topic...both are a the shining example of how to do a sci-fi franchise; the first is the darker, slower paced of the two, while the sequel blows up the action and takes it to a whole new level.

Difficult to choose, because all four movies are so terrific... but overall I think that I have to give it to the xenomorphs in the end, just because Aliens is pretty much the ultimate action movie of all time.

Extremely difficult choise between the two.
I´m a huge fan of James Cameron and he made 3 of 4, and Alien is one of the best works of Ridley Scott.
Even if both 1st movies are pure masterpieces, i have to go with the second installement of each.
Sure, T2 goes in the same vein as the 1st Terminator, making it look a bit on the update side, but, god damn, what an update
T2 is, IMO, one of the best comic book movies (without being based on a comic book, in the likes of the Matrix) ever made.
James Cameron is a huge comic book fan (said it in a couple of interviews), and it really shows in this movie.
Aliens is, simply, one of the best movies i´ve ever seen.

All in all, two of my favorite pair of movies, but i have to go with Alien, because of Aliens alone.
