DDL and Mark Wahlberg together sounds so outlandish until you remember they both have Paul Thomas Anderson experience.

Also Hank better watch his ass.

Gene only knowing Daniel Day Lewis from a film like My Left Foot- a good film, by the way- and not something more recent like Lincoln or There Will Be Blood is exactly something he would do.

That scene and the 'Fast & Furious Solutions" killed me... how was this haunting ep, still so funny.
I definitely appreciated this episode being so funny leading up to what's sure to be an emotionally relentless finale. Not ready to say good-bye to these folks!

It made since once the twist was revealed, but DDL's agent being thrown by a reference to his first Oscar win definitely seemed odd to me at first :funny:

...going to re-binge the series at work this week.

Barry was in many ways a meta commentary on the deluge of “anti-hero” tv series that have become popular in the 2000s. These shows where we follow bad guys doing bad things…but we still like them and root for them and want them to do better..until they're past that point of no return. Hader always reminded us constantly Barry is not a good guy, despite the awkward comedic quirks that Hader brilliantly injected in the character.

Damn that was even bleaker than Succession's finale, but I pretty much expected it wouldn't be a happy ending for a good majority of these characters and I'm glad they stuck by it because it was the most logical outcome IMO.

As much as I love Hader's work throughout this show behind and in front of the camera they made sure to remind us every once in a while that Barry was definitely no hero no matter the sincerity of his actions.

NoHo Hank's death got me the most, but at least Fuches got away.

Cousineau got it the worst IMO.

Cousineau’s fate reminds me of Gary’s on VEEP.

A certain tragedy in that they’re suffering for something they haven’t done, but it’s also a suffering they brought on themselves. Gary in gleefully aiding Selina no matter what she was up to, and Cousineau in being a fame ****e and not leaving well enough alone in the first place.
