Bionic Commando going to XBLA and PSN

Ok, not the new one, but the original...sort of.
Bionic Commando: Master D Revival Plan, a 3D remake of the original Bionic Commando set to hit the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Store later this year.
Aside from the 3D visuals, the game promises to maintain the flavor of the original title, which presumably means pure side-scrolling gameplay. Capcom is adding a simultaneous two player mode, secret areas, and some elements that will connect the classic title to the new full 3D Bionic Commando.

The Bionic Commando remake will be released as a paid download through Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Store. Pricing hasn't been set, but a Japanese release is planned for this Spring.


The title sucks, but Bionic Commando rules, so.....

The game will take place ten years after the original NES Bionic Commando game.[5] According to Capcom's press release, this iteration follows Nathan Spencer (voiced by Faith No More lead singer Mike Patton)[6], a government operative working in the fictional Ascension City, where he is betrayed by his own government and falsely imprisoned. Before his execution, an experimental weapon detonates in Ascension City, unleashing an earthquake along with a radioactive shockwave that leaves the city destroyed and wiping out its populace, with the threat of an invasion from a terrorist force.[4]

i'll definitely be downloading that. i wish they would remake more 2D games in that fashion. imagine playing Mega Man or Double Dragon that way.

Since Hitler and the Nazis won't be in the game…

- M. Bison should be the final boss since he looks a lot like the dude in the concept art.

- Guile and Cammy should be available as reinforcements or selectable for co-op play.

- Imagine fighting all those Shadowloo baddies instead of the "Imperials"

Huge crossover potential here. I'd be nice to see Bionic Commando and Street Fighter in somewhat of a shared universe
