Biopics You'd Like to See

Kaiser Wilhelm II or Czar Nicolas II would be interesting too. Its a shame that so little attention is paid to the First World War.

My vote goes to Adam Worth, the guy that served as inspiration for Professor Moriarty. His life seems like a movie, he looked cool and had an even cooler nickname: "The Napoleon of Crime".
Check it out...

Just cast Gary Oldman and make the movie already, Hollywood!

Alan Moore. With all the facts of his life done wrong. Just imagine how angry that would make him.

But seriously, Charles Manson would make for an interesting film. And Spielberg really needs to get off his ass with that Lincoln biopic.

I want one dealing with the real life of Anastasia and finally debunks the decades of endless legends that she survived, but was in fact murdered with her family that tragic night.

Besides Roberto Clemente, I'd like to see biopics of:

- Jim Thorpe
- Judy Garland
- Kirk Douglas (which would be produced by Kirk and Michael)
- Michael Jackson
- John Wayne
- Clint Eastwood (to be produced by Clint himself. He would have a creative say)
- Waylon Jennings
- Bill Cosby

The Romanovs really are a fascinating family. I've wanted a good movie focusing on them during the Revolution for years.

I did see "Nicholas and Alexandra" but I didnt care for it.

Blood & Sweatsocks: The Mick Foley Story starring Jack Black as Mick Foley.

The Owen Hart Story (I can't think of a clever title right now) starring Owen Wilson as Owen Hart.

The Curse Of The Iron Claw: The Von Eric Story (I don't know who would star in this one).

The Frank Gotch Story (I can't think of any clever title or an actor to star in this movie).

That's all I can come up with right now.

We had a movie about Pearl Harbor, so I would love to see a movie based on how the United States got into World War I.

A movie about the Von Erich's would be the most depressing film ever made.

I think people see WWI as too long ago. Never mind that WW2 only came twenty years after the end of the First. All of the WW1 vets are dead and its out of the collective memory. The Civil War only gets the occasional movie because the battles took place here in the States. WW1 is a forgotten war in a faraway land, in my opinion. :csad:

I liked Flyboys, a WW1 flick starring James Franco but it absolutely bombed at the B.O. A sad statement.

It would be very depressing, but also a great drama. A Current Affair did an documentary on the Von Erics shortly after Kerry Von Eric committed suicide. It was called Curse Of The Iron Claw (which is where I got the title from). I used to have it on video, I taped it off the TV when it came on, but I made the mistake of lending it to a friend and he lost it. My mom watched it with me and cried her eyes out. If done well enough, it could be a very touching story.

It's the recreation of Johnny and Joey's relationship that I would look most forward to. The two guys who never got along and were always insulting each other are ironically the only two members who were in the band for the whole run.

I just hope they would leave out Dee Dee's attempt at a rap career. :csad:

Yea, it's interesting how they never spoke for like, ten years, whilst still touring constantly. It's quite a sad story really. :csad:

And c'mon, Dee Dee King is your comic relief! God, that is an awful, awful album, from what I've heard of it.

From the Muppets, The Dark Crystal, Fraggles, to the Turtles... Jim Henson had a brilliant mind when he came up with new and entertaining ideas (except the Turtles which are Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird), but the costumes and animotronic heads that the Jim Henson Company came up with are brilliant.

So who's with me? A Jim Henson biopic that ends with his son and daughter taking over the Jim Henson Company.

Who could play Mr. Henson, if Hollywood ever decided to do this? I'm thinking John Lithgow

Great thread idea. Love all the ideas that are coming up.

An actual Beatles biopic that doesn't end before Beatlemania. I'd prefer to see it trace their fall, and go through Lennon's death and Yoko discovering John's demoes, ending with them recreating "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love"

The Rolling Stones

A good Michael Jackson biopic would be great too.

Napoleon - Whoever said this earlier in this thread is defintiely right. I'm surprised he doesn't have a biopic yet.

Joe Louis dammit! They gave James Braddock one and Joe Louis whupped him haha!

Jim Brown

Yeah but I'm not surprised. World War II is just more intriguing to write stories about.

They make them every so often, with varying quality. Lawrence of Arabia, which is my favourite film of all-time takes place during World War I. Lately it seems they go for romance, which is not an approach that I am a fan of. Both Passchendaele and The Red Baron do that, but they have their moments. I really liked the fights in The Red Baron, as long as you can get past the Mel Gibson-esque lack of historical accuracy.

Vivien Leigh

such a tragic downfall of an amazing beautiful, talented, underrated actress.

it'd have to be a good actor. can you imagine the scene where his son dies?

Well of course. They're not going to hand the role over to Ashton Kutcher or somebody like that. Well, I guess as long as they have good people working behind the camera, they wouldn't.

And I'm still waiting for Ryan Murphy's Alfred Hitchcock movie. I heard about that like three years ago and it's gone nowhere.

Anthony Hopkin's was set to portray Hitch right? Whether or not thats a seperate film, I dont know.

On a seperate note, I'm suprised Hopkin's has never attempted to get a film going about his favourite standup comedian, Tommy Cooper. Now there is a fascinating character.

^Imagine Tony Hopkins playing Tommy Cooper, that would be too amazing.

Jimi Hendrix
Charles Bukowski
Henry Miller
Dan Fante
Syd Barrett
Iggy Pop
Roky Erikson
JD Salinger
Arthur Lee
Philip K Dick
Hunter S Thompson
Bill Hicks
