Biopics You'd Like to See

Rasputin, Von Schlieffen, Lenin and the Kaiser.

Count Dooku, General Grevious, Darth Maul and Jango Fett.
none of those guys has the cache and attraction that Hitler/Darth Vader and the 3rd reich/the Empire do to filmakers.

I'm just joking around a bit while being serious to an extent, but I do agree there is of course great movies that could be made with those guys featured. I chose higher History at school, so recall a little about certain areas.

It wouldnt exactly be a biopic in the traditional sense but I'd love to see a movie about the forming (and ultimate disintegration) of the Stan Lee/Steve Ditko partnership.

It could be kind of like a comic book-based movie version of Mad Men. It'd begin with with them coming together in 60's Manhattan and creating Spider-Man, then falling out. The second half could juxtapose Lee's huge success and recognition with Ditko's increasing sense of bitterness and alienation as he struggles to create a character with the same impact...

Von Schlieffen was dead in 1913 and the Kaiser was on holiday when the war started :cwink:

Do people these days still believe Germany was the bad guy of WWI?

Wilhelm was Kaiser, dammit! And Von Schliffens re-animated corpse played a huge role in the war. :cmad:

Yeah, I majored in history and was taught that Germany was the bad guy. Personally, I dont think any of the Great Powers were innocent, but Germany lost so they are the bad guys.

Bad guy is probably too harsh, but they were clearly the aggressors.

No, they were not. The Black Hand killed Franz Ferdinand, they were in league with the Serbish military and the Russian secret service. The Kaiser tried to calm down the European powers, while the Russians and French were already openly talking about the war.

A biopic on the Gulf Oil Spill should be made when it's all over, and Michael Sheen NEEDS to play BP CEO Tony Hayward.

Also, I’d love to see a biopic on the early 90’s grunge/alternative explosion and its ultimate implosion:

Some casting ideas…

Kurt Cobain: Charlie Hunnam
Courtney Love: Natasha Lyonne
Bill Corgan: Seth Gabel
Layne Staley: Ben Foster
Jerry Cantrell: Ryan Gosling

Also, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and STP would have to factor in.

A really well-done Jim Valvano movie. For some reason, I can't get Jimmy Smits out of my head as Jimmy V.

I hope Spike Lee gets to make his Louis-Schmelling II movie.

I've always wanted a Mama Cass Elliott biopic. Oh and even though he's still alive I'd love to see a Stephen Fry biopic, the man is fascinating.
