I searched and didn't see a thread for this tittle, so if there is one, sorry. Is anyone else following this book? I read a few old TPBs and decided to pick this comic up. I've really enjoyed it, I think the characters and well written and the stories are fleshed out nicely. I really haven't had much exposure to the series other then a few TPBs and a few current issues, are there any story arcs I should look into?

Also, why isn't Batgirl a part of the team?

And lastly, hooray for Prometheus.

Because Batgirl is too busy having her character raped by that hack over on Robin.

Oh :( Too bad, I really liked the new Batgirl, though I wish they hadn't given her the ability to talk....

Apparently, now she has the ability to act like a complete tool is writing her.

Cassandra fought Shiva by the end of her series, got defeated and dumped into a Lazarus Pit. When she came out she fought Shiva again and left her hanging on a meat hook on top of the same Lazarus Pit after breaking Shiva's neck. From what we've seen in Robin, Cassandra is the new leader of the League of Assassins and has turned into a villainess. I tend to look that as a side effect of the Lazarus Pit but people here mostly consider it a disregard of her development as a character hence the raping comment.

The BoP have changed a bit and now have Shiva as a member pending Canary's return. Canary is training where Shiva was raised and Shiva has taken the Jade Canary moniker. I don't know if you're up to that part yet, but there it is.:D I agree, the comic is pretty good.

And boo for Prometheus.:mad::o

Wolfwood, what TPBs have you read?

Don't use your "logic" to try to excuse this bulls***. And what's wrong with Prometheus!?

I actually like Shiva on the team, along with Gypsy. :D

I've really enjoyed this title, and I have the Sensei & Students as well as the Between Dark & Dawn TPB's, having also started collecting single issues with the OYL issue. I'm enjoying the hell out of this title, and I really like the direction they're going, especially with new members Shiva and Gypsy. We also finally got Prometheus' return to greatness, although he took Shiva out way too easily.

Too be honest, I can't remember, I found them at my college library while waiting for my next class to start. It was also a few months ago, I'm just now subscribing to the series. The story had a villian though who had memory problems and had kidnapped Black Cannary I believe.

^ Agreed. Shiva could've had the upper hand.
I don't think she should've had the upper hand, but more than a punch and a kick. That battle should've lasted a little longer. Than again, he did once take out Batman like a little punk too.

Yah, I've gotten that far on BOP issues, but thanks for the update on Batgirl. Wow, she certainly has come a long way from her obsession with letting no one die. So if all that happened to Shiva, how is she now back to full form fighting alongside the BOP? Is it related to the whole One Year Later thing?

Well, she was left on a dangling hook right above a Lazarus Pit. Beyond the fact that we know she came back and apparently made a deal with BC, we know nothing of what happened in the missing OYL year.

I guess if it was right above the pit, we could assume she eventually just tore off and fell into the pit.

I think we're at least expected to assume so.

Ah, yes, that was that arc with Savant and Creote.

Cassandra still had her vow to never kill another person in place back then. If you read the comic, it's pretty clear that she doesn't actually kill Shiva, she just breaks her neck (which you can survive, contrary to what most movies and TV shows tell you) and leaves her hanging. It was actually a gift to Shiva. Shiva had a death wish for the longest time because she was literally the best martial artist ever. No one could hope to beat her, so she became obsessed with finding someone who could kill her. In soundly defeating her, paralyzing her, and leaving her hanging, completely helpless, Cassandra demonstrated that there was someone out there who could kill her without actually having to kill her. Leaving her hanging over the Lazarus Pit to boot was basically Cassandra's way of giving Shiva a second chance at life without her death wish hanging over her all the time.

Dude, it makes far more sense than her remaining normal. She was damaged goods to begin with and that Pit is a bastard!;) I know I'm not invested in the character like you, but it's actually more exciting that she could be against the Bat-family now. A person that can kick all of their butts hand to hand and knows how they work and where they live? That ramps up the tension and brings in a more credibly menacing villain. I prefer her to some one trick back-breaking pony.

What's wrong with Prom? Besides that you can make fun of his name by shortening to Prom? I don't know, there's something about him that reminds me of Zauriel and who doesn't hate THAT bastard? Or maybe it's the fact that Trojan Man has a cooler costume than Prom's.:p:D

Yeah, we should get someone to turn Bart against the other speedsters and Mia against the Arrow family, too. Random allegiance switches for all!

That's just it, it's not random; you guys just don't want to see that.

Shiva's clearly gotten over her Lazarus Pit ******ation. She's exactly as she's always been. It's not even out of character for her to be trying to walk on the side of good for a while.

It is, however, wildly out of character for Cassandra to kill anybody, even her deadbeat father.

Unless.....she's possessed by the spirit of Ra's Al Ghul!!!

Haha, that would actually be weird enough that I wouldn't mind. Plus, it wouldn't really have been Cassandra doing any of those things. I believe that's what they call a "win/win situation" in you young'uns' jocular parlance. :)
