Black Dynamite

This is actually going to start playing at the theatre near my place, that rarely shows indie type movies. Go support Michael Jai White this weekend, fools.

Right now, the theater list is at 70 theaters for the weekend. Hope it does great. I doubt I be able to see it in theaters.

But Black Dynamite, I see sell drugs in the community!

I need to see this right nao.

Man, oh, man, oh, man, oh, man. This movie was f***ing hilarious, period. I saw it last night and I'm gonna see it again, tonight. I sure as hell hope the guys who made "Undercover Brother" watch this and weep into their popcorn because "Dynamite" is the movie that "Brother" could've been if the "Brother" makers had some balls and stepped up to the plate. Michael Jai White has definitely got the chops, in more ways than one. His delivery in the picture is akin to Leslie Nielsen or Adam West where his tongue is not just planted in his cheek, it's grafted to it. I just wish, they had really gone the full-on "Grindhouse" approach and put in a couple of fake trailers before the movie. I mean, there's a fake beer ad that's funny as s*** before hand, but once you've gone Grindhouse, you kinda expect the whole package. Bottom line, this movie needs to be seen by anyone whose had to sit through one of those bulls*** spoof movies put out over the last few years cause' Black Dynamite is how it's done right.

-so sayeth the muthaf***in' mastermind-

I'm going tonight, mos def. Ebert's review is hilarious. He talks about how movies don't have nudity for the sake of nudity anymore like in this era, when chicks would just be topless for no reason. And how he loves it. :awesome:

Doubtful, it's DOA in theaters.

http://boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/

Weekend Estimate. $141,000 - 70 theaters - PTA 2,014.

Pitiful per theater avg. Hopefully it will get added into more theaters due to reviews and some buzz. I am so...so...SO...buying it on dvd/blu-ray though.

The only advertising I've seen for this was a trailer in front of Capitalism: A Love Story. Nobody knows about this movie.

Don't worry about that. I saw it at the Riverview. I'd head there ASAP. They should have had some TV spots for this. Many people that would enjoy it haven't heard of it.
