Last week, we posted a link to the trailer for Paul Verhoeven’s new film ZWARTBOEK (BLACK BOOK).

it's the return of Paul Verhoven in top form with a newfound maturity

Yes there is nudity , violence etc , but Verhoven doesn't go over the top ( not that i didn't like it i love flesh and Blood and robocop ) it is more realistic ,( that said maybe more in line with the subject also.)

and that help to emphatise a really deeply moving story , really throughtful , with great philosophical overtones about some of the most humans vicious instinct.

make no mistake that is not a black and white movie.. nothing is clear cut , anyways nothing is really what it seem.

another WW2 movies? no , a WW2 movie , a thriller, an action film , and a psychological and philosophical drama

Excellent movie. Carice van Houten is terrific, hot, and hate to say it damn sexy in this movie (but she's supposed to be). Anyway, a nicely directed story of intrigue.

Just saw this tonight, what a fantastic movie, Ive never seen a war movie from this perspective before, it was also a superb espionage war film which made for a change of pace from the most recent war movies. The whole cast is excellent and the direction and authentic feel of the movie is immaculate, the film is gripping and captivating throughout, magnificent.

Carice Van Outen deserves special praise, such a wonderful performance with so many layers, she's by turn determined, fearless, cold, compassionate and sexy...I'm in love.
