I had a cop tail me for a good amount of time yesterday, and I was most definitely scared. I kept going through my head, if I get pulled over I'm going to say nice and clear that I have my wallet on the inside of my jacket pocket.

It sucks that some folks think this fear the black community have of this is unwarranted.

I don't see how they can justify this shooting, I'm hoping the officer goes down for it even if she didn't do it "on purpose" but was afraid.

St. Louis cop caught on film planting a gun on a man he just killed

Newly released footage has shed a troubling new light on a 2011 police shooting in St. Louis, showing an officer gun down a black suspect and then planting a gun on the crime scene.

Officer Jason Stockley and his partner Brian Bianchi had engaged drug suspect Anthony Lamar Smith in a high speed chase. Stockley can be heard saying “I’m going to kill this mother*******.”

The police rammed Smith off the road, and camera footage shows Stockley shooting five shots into the driver’s seat of Smith’s disabled car.

New footage now reveals Stockley taking a gun out of a duffel back from the back of his own cruiser and planting it on Smith’s body. Stockley claimed in his report that Smith had pointed the weapon at him, justifying the use of lethal force.

Subsequent DNA evidence on the gun, however, did not contain any DNA or fingerprints from Smith.

Stockley will be tried for first degree murder. One of his initial hearings takes place on Oct. 3rd.

If multiple cops can't restrain a single unarmed man without shooting him... they aren't good enough to be cops. Simple as.

Too many of these cops want the easy way out of a situation. Any dick head can shoot someone. But cops arentry supposed to be just any dick head. They're supposed to be trained, elite, able to stay calm under duress.

The New York pressure cooker bomber shot two cops and managed to get arrested and taken alive yet some of these cops can't seem to arrest, apprehend or even communicate with a unarmed black male without it ending in the person being shot to death.

This is what the recent exposure to all of these unwarranted, unnecessary shootings is doing even though I'm glad we have more information at our disposal so hopefully it helps how to protect ourselves. It's disheartening and terrifying to know that this is regarding cops.

I just saw a guy on CNN saying the shooting officer couldn't clearly see what he was doing as a video the clear shows she could see plays over his comments.

I just heard about this as well. Ad a black woman if I never give birth to a son I am going to have to movie out of the country.
I suggest any black MAN not get the registration but tell the officer to get it themselves while you keep your hands in the air. Also starting to think black men should have dash cams.

The training is horrible in a lot of places, and more to a point cops are now taught to take no chances whatsoever. Even the slightest chances means shoot to kill.

Too many cops no longer say their #1 job is to serve and protect. They say it is to get home safe. That kind of mentality makes all citizens potential threats to that. A lot of these shootings aren't "on purpose". They don't mean to kill innocent people. But they are being taught it is better to do that then risk anything.

In some places it's illegal to own or wear bulletproof vests.

Also a bulletproof vest can't protect you from being shot in the head , choked, beaten, raped, or tased to death.

Public executions; especially by so called cops are illegal and let's say a dude gets shot in the chest or stomach; if he survives and charge him for posession of a vest, that's better than being dead is it not? Yup, i have so much respect for Black people, Hispanic, Transgender, LGBT etc people that even walk out of the door in America.

The sheer idea that you could walk down the street and get killed by people who are supposed to protect you...is scary.

for so long, White America was used to black people being "in their place", Obama getting elected changed that - along with the rise of social media showing how messed up society can be towards black people, and poor people, and anyone else deemed undesirable
