This is my idea on how Roman Sionis could be incorporated into Nolan’s version of Batman in the third Batman movie. He would not be the main villain, with that role taken by Two Face:
Roman Sionis is the corrupt CEO of Janus Cosmetics, a rival company of Wayne Enterprises. He is engaged to a very beautiful, yet equally corrupt and power hungry woman named Circe. Sionis gets involved with the mobs in order to boost his corporation, but the gang steal money from the business, causing it to go almost completely bankrupt. In a last desperation, Sionis is forced to sell his company to Wayne Enterprises. Realizing that Sionis is now a failure, Circe publicly breaks up with Sionis in front of the entire Board of his company. This final humiliation causes Sionis to snap. He dons a black mask, and in his first act of revenge, assassinates the mob boss who stole the money from him in the first place. He then goes to Circe in order to try to convince her to come back to him. In a state of depression, Circe pulls a gun on herself, shooting and killing herself in front of Sionis. Now completely in desperation, Sionis begins kidnapping and torturing employees of Wayne Enterprises in revenge. This draws Batman’s attention, since he is none other than Bruce Wayne, the owner o Wayne Enterprises and close friend of Lucius Fox, the CEO. In a bold move, Sionis eventually kidnaps Fox, and takes him to an abandoned Janus Cosmetics warehouse. As he prepares to torture and kill Fox, Batman comes in and saves the day. He is able to rescue Fox, but Sionis catches the warehouse on fire. The two fight in the burning inferno of the warehouse. Sionis eventually falls to his death, his body burning and face scalded to a dark, crisp black.

That's pretty good. It would work great in a Nolan Bat film.

How 'bout a cameo a la Zsasz. Not more. There is no time for Black Mask in the movies.

There is no time for Black Mask in the movies.

We have no idea how the third movie is going to play out, or what characters will be returning or what new characters will be introduced. I personally think Black Mask is a cool character that would fit in easily with Nolan's world and would make a very interesting villian for Batman. Sure I don't think he could carry the movie, but he could have comparable screen time to Scarecrow in BB or even a little bit more and still allow plenty of time for Two Face or whoever else the "main" villian will be.

ok, yeah you are right, we don't "know" which characters will be returning. But we pretty much know that the villians will be Two-face & Joker. Over 99% certain. And Catwoman night be in it too(hopefully). And Catwoman is much more interesting than Black-Mask.

I haven't seen or heard anything that proves whether Joker even survives TDK. Even if he does, he is the main villian in this one so I doubt that he will be a major character in the third film if he is in it at all.

It's been confirmed way long ago, but anybody could understand that they wouldn't kill him off in the end of the movie. It's the biggest villian in comic-book history!!! Of course he is in the next movie. An even though Two-face is the major villian, Joker will not be a 5 minute minor role.

The possibility of having the Joker back in a 3rd film is unlikely, and I have no idea what the fate of Harvey Dent/Two Face will be in TDK (Dead? Imprisoned). So who would be the best villans for a 3rd film?

I think with the joker out of comission, the riddler is the most likely choice to fill the "freak villain" void. Although these two characters are very different, they both enjoy playing elaborate mindgames with our hero. The Riddler imposes his presence on the gotham citizenry in a similar fashion as the Joker, but his methods are less violent in their aim to create chaos and anarchy.

Edward Nashton appeared in the 2nd issue of gotham times, so this may be an indicator that the Riddler will be arriving in Gotham for our 3rd story.

As for our "HEAVY" villain. We need someone who poses a serious threat to gotham city, but a villain that fits in Nolan's realistic world. I think he did an excellent job with the villain Ra's al Ghul. It would be enjoyable to see another unseen villain from the rogues gallery make his debut in a film.
This villain should be Black Mask.

In Dark Knight, the mob is nearly dissolved--we see a trend. The idea of a "different, better class of criminal" as an answer to the batman. The freak's time has come. They are responding to the arrival of batman. Black Mask is a hybrid--he is a combination. A freak who also controls his own criminal empire in mob fashion. Disfigured and ruthless, Black Mask is frightening and has a vendetta against Bruce Wayne. Much like Ra's in Batman Begins. In a third film, we commonly return to themes explored in the first--Ra's al Ghul knew Bruce. Bruce's final test in this universe should involve a more personal threat--something he has faced before but much more intense. Black Mask is an enemy of both Bruce and his alter ego, but he is unaware of their connection, unlike Ra's al Ghul. I think he would pose a more dangerous threat than villains we've seen before.

His "false face" henchmen alone would be awesome:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Mask_(comics)

"Sionis found he had an amazing aptitude for crime, and he soon had a large gang working for him. Calling them the False Face Society, the one requirement was that all members must select a mask from his collection and wear it at all times when on the job and in his presence. They were successfully gaining power in the Gotham underworld, until Black Mask decided it was time to take his revenge on Bruce Wayne. He began kidnapping Wayne Enterprises executives, putting masks on their faces that were coated in the deadly make-up once made by Janus Cosmetics."

black mask would be awesome. if he is used i want joaquin phoenix to play him and david tennant to play riddler.

Who do you think would make the perfect Black Mask? I have an idea right now who might be good for the guy, but I'm trying to decide if he might be a good choice before posting the idea. I really do think he'd be the perfect villain for the next film. And yes he's one of my favorite Batman villains along with the Joker.

I want Ewan McGregor to play the Black Mask in the third movie. Here’s why:

First off; look at his face:

Ewan_051226022640929_wideweb__300x415,1.jpg

This guy has an almost perma-smile in nearly every picture he takes and yes its true he’s been reported as being a really nice guy but a smile that big almost looks too good, like he’s putting on an act. Remember Roman Sionis’ background? His family went out of their way to be friends with all the rich people and forced him to be friends with their kids but behind closed doors talked so much **** about everyone. I think McGregor could pull of this duplicitous nature: smiling in your face and hating you in his mind.

So how do we introduce him? Well let’s say that this next Batman movie (herein called BB3) is set just a month or two after the events of TDK. Rachel has to be buried or at least have a funeral and when people die, childhood friends tend to show up. So Sionis comes back to Gotham for Rachel’s funeral. He finds the city in chaos, Bruce Wayne (a man he hates) rising in power and success and the criminal underworld completely lacking any leadership.

Sionis would see this as opportunity to indulge in his true criminal impulses while simultaneously ruining and embarrassing the families of wealth and privilege he’s always loathed. Think about it a man with wealth, resources and capabilities of Bruce Wayne bringing the entire criminal element of Gotham under his heel? A business man running a totally vertically integrated operation of thugs, murderers and rapists? We’ve already seen this, twice:

Yep, imagine Frank Lucas (who was later played by Denzel in American Gangster) or Nino Brown the character he inspired from New Jack City as the new Capo De Tutti Cappi in Gotham and imagine how dangerous that would be.

So how do we get Sionis to be the Black Mask?

Well I don’t think Noland would make him a skull-headed madman but originally he wore an actual Black Mask. And after the Scarecrow and the Joker, it’d make sense that whoever decides to set up shop in Gotham might wear a mask; hell, the criminals might expect it at this point. Wearing a simple full facemask would be reasonable and allows Sionis to play both sides of the coin.

Hmm Ewan McGregor eh? Man I need an image of him being dressed with a hood and stuff. I want some one scarry, some one that will you know put fear in peoples minds right as soon as they walk on the screen.

Black Mask would be a good fit for BB3 but so would Bane. Ideally, I think the film needs both of them.

Ooh I like the idea of both Bane and the Black Mask being in the third film. That would be good. LOL Ewan, McGregor might be a good choice.

I think there's a decent chance Black Mask will be one of the villains in the next movie. He was originally supposed to be in the 2nd one but was written off. With the mob in shambles, there's a few guys who can take over, and he's one of them. I think they should show how much of a sicko Black Mask is in this movie. While Joker was crazy and a ticking time bomb, Black Mask can show the ugly side of Gotham in terms of the sick **** that he's all about (wearing his mom's coffin lid as a mask, a mannequin as a girlfriend). With that said, I think the perfect guy for this role is Joaquin Phoenix. He can play that sick out of his mind kinda guy while still maintaining some toughness and authority with those around him. Any other suggestions? I'd also like to see what ideas you guys have for the direction of the character.

link?

i think it was just rumors that Penguin and Black Mask were going to make appearances in TDK

Joaquin Phoenix is not a bad choice...I like the mannequin girlfriend idea...just imagine a scene like in Burton's '89 Batman how Grissom plotted Jack's end after the mob meeting, Black Mask talks to his "girlfriend" he reveals some of his origin, like how ppl do on a 1st date and his plans for "them" and for Gotham...he's no Joker, but far as pyschotic goes he'll take the cake...

LA Times suggested Jonathan Rhys Meyers

He can play crazy sadistic villians pretty good in gormenghast (loved it when he went mad after getting half his face burnt off)and Ride With The Devil

He also played a creepy Cult leader in Octane

He was in Velvet Goldmine with Bale too.
