Bohemian Rhapsody

They should have an all CGI Brian May, like JarJar Binks or Golem.
and Keifer Sutherland as the drummer

Cohen is too friggin' tall to play Freddy Mercury. Unless you put EVERYONE ELSE IN THE MOVIE on stilts, it won't work.

Heights no longer a problem in movies ever since peter Jackson’s lord of the rings :woot:

Nicky Katt = Freddie Mercury.

I did a manip last night but I was drunk and it sucked and was laughable and I closed PS without saving it, thank god.

Yeah, that'll keep the budget down. :whatever:

The height issues didn't up the budget. Hell, most of them were camera tricks.

I still don't see Cohen as Mercury, regardless of height.

Well I was going to say Scott Weiland, but I think he too is too tall.

My god how is Elijah going to pull this off,I can't wait!?

You know Elijah Wood is playing Iggy Pop in a separate film and is not playing Freddie Mercury, right?

Liv Tyler kind of resembles Freddie. just give her a mustache.

My vote is for Sacha Baron Cohen.

Depp is too old. Isn't he about 43? I mean, Freddy was 45 when he died. He dpes have the height in his corner. If it chronicles the last few years of his life, he'd be awesome. But I'd like to see one spanning from the start of his life to his final days.

It's not relevant how old Depp is, just what ages he can pass for... and that dude is like... perpetually young.

from www.brianmay.com on reports of Johnny Depp portraying Mercury;

But you're right about one thing ... Johnny Depp is fantastic. He would be a worthy counterpart for Freddie on screen. I don't think I can say any more right now.

Here's a bit from article:

PIRATES Of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp is in line to play Freddie Mercury in a Hollywood biopic.

The movie, planned for next year, is being developed by Robert De Niro's Tribeca Productions and will focus on Mercury's life, from his birth in Zanzibar in 1946 to his AIDS-related death in 1991, when he was just 45.

Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor will have the final say over the music in the film - which will see Depp 43, miming to Mercury's original vocal recordings.

Mercury's long-term girlfriend, Mary Austin said: 'I can't think of anyone better to play Freddie.'

hells yeah! i so called it!

Keep in mind it's NOT confirmed, they're just "reports" though Brian May's comments do make me wonder.....

I would like to see Daniel Day Lewis play Brian in the movie.

There's an old thread where some one cast Queen and it was like spot on perfect. I need to find it....

Edit: found it

Those would have been spot on perfect if the movie had been made right after Mercury died. Now those actors are all far too old. Except Depp. You can make an exception for him and hopefully use a younger actor for atleast his pre-fame days.

While I too hate how everyone brings Depp up for every role in creation... I can totally see him as Freddie. Hope this movie goies through, love queen, they're my favorite band. Got a few posters of freddie and queen in my house at college and *****es are always asking who it is. "whadayer mean who is that, it my main man Freddie, better than your damn rap music!". Maybe this will raise awareness of the legend.
