BOUGHT/THOUGHT "End Of War Special" Feb 21st

Honestly Red X,if you're going to start one of these,at least give us some reviews instead of just posting the same thing you would post in a Diamond shipping list thread.

Let Not Jake do it instead.

To be honest,PWJ was on the chopping block after the awkward 3rd issue, but this was just a totally solid read from start to finish.

Iron Fist was running around rooftops for 3/4 of the issue talking to himself. It was still a good read, but most of the stuff he was saying we the reader already knew.Still a good read though.

Yeah, I highly doubt that PWJ was a perfect 10, and "The Fist" was barely average. But I haven't read it yet, so I have no room to comment, still that hasn't and wont stop me from doing so.

I found the reason behind 42 more cheesy. The Hercules moment was just badass.

I thought Herc [BLACKOUT]pwning Clor was the best moment in the issue, I mean he even used his own hammer on him.[/BLACKOUT]

I have, and I'm finishing up my Illuminati review now.

Cool,I also must say Cap stomping the **** out of Bishop just made me feel really good inside.

Also, I saw that the book was 32 pages, it was supposedly oversized, by 5 pages, someone give me an actual page count.

Civil War #7-And so it ends.Lots of action in this issue, with Hercules getting a big moment to shine kicking Clor's ass. That was my fav part. This issue was a fine ending, nothing spectacular or earth shattering, but it does its job of setting up the MU post CW.It was also great seeing Namor coming through in the clutch. 7.5/10

Punisher War Journal #4
-After a shaky conclusion to the CW arc, this done in one absolutely kills all doubts in my mind.If we can expect more of this from Fraction,I can't wait.We get a look at the good old days of villainy from the POV of the villains, lots of hilarious cameos, malfunctioning Doombots, and a nice twist in the end which was quite impressive.Very enjoyable read with so much meat in 22 pages. 10/10

Immortal Iron Fist #3-More setup takes place in this issue with Rand city hopping looking for Randal.Steel Serpent makes it clear what his intentions are and Danny and Orson butt heads (literally) in the end.The flashback in the beginning was well done, kudos to Foreman. Not as stellar as the past 2 issues, but still a very interesting storyline. 7/10

Incredible Hulk #103-Got this a week late. The Miek sex scene was disturbing, but other than that, another great read in a long run from Pak.We've hit that point where things are winding down to a conclusion, and it's good timing to do so.Hulk ending the fight in the arena was just madness. 8/10

Still to come...

Brave and the Bold #1
JSA #3
Detective Comics #828

(my shop didn't get the Spirit!)

Brave and the Bold #1-Hoo-hah.Waid and Perez hit it off in style. This felt like more than 22 pages, there was just so much going on on every single page.Setup and whole lots more.By the end of the book, you can see how the rotating cast thing is going to work.Loved the casino scene with Bruce and Hal.This book has alot going for it. A solid 11/10

I need Spirit spoilers now,and if you don't have it on your list,in the words of the Almighty Darth,"you lose at life".

My reviews'll be up in about an hour, I have a break so I'll be reading them over said amount of time and a hot cup of coffee. Black, like Tmob's soul.

Civil War #7: 4.5/5
Millar redeems this book, as the prior two issues had been decidedly unremarkable; the excitement that permeated the first few issues wasn't even really present until the final pages of issue #6. This issue, however, started out with a bang. The big battle was exciting and well-choreographed, as Spidey, Cap and Hercules all get nice moments. And then, the testosterone fizzles out, and a return to the slightly more cerebral Civil War of issue #1 begins; Captain America has an epiphany, and it just felt right. In the moment, this was the only way Captain America could react. For the reader, it was great, because he did give Tony the ass-kicking he deserved and then went and had a true hero moment, something that this series had muddied in its previous issues. It was refreshing, and Cap's parting lines were just great. Not only that, but in an act that you jerk hypocrites should appreciate, Tony's side of the story is finally shown in a positive light, and as you read how much Tony really believes in the idea, you start to yourself. Tony's new position is going to be interesting, Punisher's future actions lay down a map for a POTENTIALLY great story, New Avengers receives some set-up, as does Alpha Flight. Also, Reed redeems himself! I wish this issue was a couple pages longer, so more of that stuff could be set-up, but I don't think it's totally necessary. As it stands, I hope at least one of the perpetual *****ebags who rip on Marvel all the time will acknowledge that this issue did what you guys were whining about all along--it returned heroism to the main players of the Marvel U. Virtually all the big-namers entrenched in CW got a heroic moment, something to cheer for, devoid of political scheming against fellow heroes. So shut up, Dick Destruction. Seriously.

Loathe am I to give half-points, but I really did like the issue more than a 4 out of 5. It overachieved, it earned it.

52 #43: 4/5
Great main story; Ralph proves his mettle yet again. A nice Montoya scene at the beginning of the book. Surprisingly, Darick Robertson's art--not that good. Rushed, or maybe poorly inked/colored? I dunno. It was serviceable, for the most part, but not as good as it usually is. A little disappointing. Also, to me, it was disconcerting how that ring just appeared in panels. Neron ripped off his finger and stretched it out, and then the ring appears on it? I thought it was on the ground in a different room. Whatever, he's magic, I guess. Great origin at the end--Greeen Arrow!

Wonder Woman #4: 4/5
The slowest book I've ever picked up arrives! It's a good read, but a little underwhelming. Enjoyable. Even Dodson's art was good. I have some problems with it, namely

1) Wonder Woman's manly chin
2) Wonder Woman's pale white complexion
3) Every male face Dodson draws,

but Dodson apparently draws a mean Dragon. Not a "mean" one. A mean one. You know. He draws dragons well.

:csad:

I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5 but I refuse to give more than one half-score per B/T. Then I'd just be doing a 10 point scale, in essence. And then I'd be tempted to give those half-points! I refuse.

Not Bought/Still Thought

Amazing Spider-Man #538: 3/5
It was OK. Not much to say, here. It wasn't bad. Wasn't great. I liked MJ in this one, I liked Pete's dedication to Cap, I liked Kingpin going after Spidey again.

Civil War ends as it begins...in a pile of crap.

P:WJ was AMAZING - book of the week BY FAR. And the only good thing to come of CW.

So wait, you actually bought CW #7? Marvel thanks you for the sales.

all I can say is:

I love my penis

best moment of the week.

Civil War review is up, read and respond. Looking at you guys, perennial lameasses.

I need answers! Does Punsiher kill Electro in 4 or not!?!

That's a nickname I can deal with.

Oh, and Ralph Dibny is the man, what a GREAT book 52 was this week.

No, I don't even think Electro was in there. Punisher knocked off a lot of villains, though. The only ones there for the wake that didn't die were Puma and Prowler.

EDIT: Electro was not killed. He wasn't even at the wake.

Thanks jeebus. I gotta wonder when electro's showing up in there though. Frank did take note on him in the 1st issue. So anyone worth noting actually die?
