Thought I'd try to answer my own question here:

Issue #2 sold 23,200.....yowch. I'd be surprised if it lasted a year (and yes, I did see full page ads for this title.)

I couldn't get sales numbers for #1, only the rank, which was 62. To give a comparison, the title ranked #62 for november (Outsiders) sold 35,600. Not exactly gangbusters for a new title.

It's a shame, I bumped it up to my top tier. (A lot of my top tiers end up getting cancelled...)

Enjot it while it lasts boys and girls.
That's a DAMN shame. I love this book.

Superman #658 $2.99

Civil War #6 (of 7) $2.99
Civil War Front Line #10 (of 11) $2.99
Newuniversal #2 $2.99

Wow, for the first time in over a year I'm buying more Marvel comics than DC. Scary.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I got these yesterday. Nothing really spoiler-worthy (all three good solid reads, though). Just thought I'd give a free advertisement for Marvel subs. I hear people complaining about them from time to time, but I've, on the whole, had pretty good luck with them.

Even though ASM #537 seemed like "filler" material,
wasn't it nice to see the Kingpin's hatred for Spidey like it was in the Pre-Miller Kingpin days?

:yay:

Oh yeah. I was always kind of irked by that over in DD, even though those stories were near flawless. I always felt that he was stolen. I like your Loki theory, and returning Spidey to the 70s. How do you feel about that. I would like to see it, but I have to admit, I'm pretty open minded towards experimentation (hence my username...)

By the way, over in Hulk...

I think when he comes back in WW Hulk, it's going to be in the context of him being a conquerer. Maybe add to the empire that he's started...

My bottom line is that I get good characterization and good stories. If it's done properly, then I have no problems with it. However, as is the case most times, current writers just write crap on a whim without taking the past into context. Taking Spider-Man properly to an untrusted hero in the Marvel Universe where the Spectre of Spider-Man will keep him away from the women he loves is great... but that doesn't mean I want to see a de-evolution from what has already transpired. It's do-able... I just hope they can do it right.... (if indeed, that is the direction they will take him)

And while everyone I talk to seems disappointed with next year's Hulk event, I think it has potential to rock our worlds...
