Predictions for this week's release:

The Dukes of Hazzard: $33 to 35 million on its way to around $100 million or slightly more.

Too high Galactus I predict the film will be very front-loaded, if it did 33-35 mil for opening weekend it's going end at 60 or 70 mil because consider this it has to deal not only with Wedding Crashers but the next week Deuce Bigalow 2 comes out and the following week is The 40 Year-Old Virgin all comedies that'll bite into it, so expect crappy legs on this movie but I'm predicting probably 25-30 mil I don't think it'll go past 30 mil due to the "slump" and the fact there are pratically no reviews for it means it's probably not that good but none the less I could be wrong because there is no competition besides wedding crashers this week, it's a great release date.

Comedies are doing really well this summer. I never would have expected that Longest Yard or Wedding Crashers would have the success that they had.

duece will do ok business. it doesnt have the appeal of a football comedy of a crashing wedding comedy though. its got a has been actor trying revive his career. as for dukes of hazzard it could get 100 million...itll def. find its audience, just watch.

Comedy, like slasher horror flicks, is the most critic-proof genre out there, probably because of the appeal to teen audiences... But of course some movies are exceptions, like Wedding, that was actually well-received by critics and is becoming the surprise of the summer.
