Top 5 worldwide

1. The Taking of Tiger Mountain $109,9 million
2. Paddington $109,7 million
3. Gone with the Bullets $81,3 million
4. Coming Home $46,4 million
5. Love on the Cloud $42,2 million

Time for another year. And I have a feeling there will be a lot of Avengers vs. Star Wars discussions this year. :)

I suppose the safest bet you can make this year is that Disney will earn a few dollars. :)

Gone with the Bullets ?! ... I need to see that !

I thought this was going to be a prediction thread lol. I do think star wars will not do has while has people think because I think the prequles turned a lot of people away. I think star wars 7 could make less then a billion.

Anyone are welcome to make predictiions

I predict we will see at least 8 films gross more than 750m worldwide in 2015, more than in any other year (2012 had 7 + Madagascar 3 earning 746.9m). I think at least five of those will likely reach the 1 billion mark, breaking the record of four set in 2012.

I think the top 8 will be:

1-5. Avengers: AoU,, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Furious 7, Spectre, Jurassic World
6-8. Minions, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, Inside Out

Other potential 750m+ movies: Mission Impossible 5, Tomorrowland, 50 Shades of Grey, Cinderella, Ant-Man

I think we will se at least one animated movie in top 8. Minions for example.

1. Age of Ultron
2. Star Wars
3. Spectre
4-6 Jurassic World, Hunger Games Furious 7
7-10 Inside Out, Minions, MI:5, Tomorrowland

Possibles to get in top 10:
Ant-man if it's good could easily get 700 mill which would top a couple of those films i think
Mad Max- Film looks amazing, getting lots of buzz and anticipation could easily do very well

Jupiter Ascending - If it's good has potential

Shocks -
Cinderella- Maleficent did really well so I guess this could get up there

Fifty Shades of Grey- Not a joke, this thing had the most trailer views of all last year, and with all the book sales and coming out on valentines day so men will feel inclined to take there girlfriends this could really do well.

Looks like there might be a bit of a wait in Mr. Grey’s reception area, as Fandango reports that the Fifty Shades of Grey movie is now the fastest-selling R-rated title in the ticket seller’s 15-year history, already outpacing several major hits.
The film, which opens February 13, is clearly ready to tie up the Valentine’s Day weekend box office, and fans of the E L James books can assume the position by buying tickets on the film page HERE.
Fandango’s top-5 R-rated advance ticketers, in first week of sales (as of Friday, January 16, 2015):
1. “Fifty Shades of Grey” (2015)
2. “Sex and the City 2” (2010)
3. “The Hangover Part II” (2011)
4. “The Hangover Part III” (2013)
5. “Gone Girl” (2014)
“It’s tracking to be Fandango’s fastest-selling R-rated movie of all time,” says Fandango Chief Correspondent Dave Karger. “Very few books can claim true national phenomenon status – and ‘Fifty Shades’ ranks with ‘Twilight,’ ‘The Hunger Games’ and ‘Gone Girl’ as novels that entered the zeitgeist from coast to coast. Fans of the book have been waiting for years to see their favorite sexy characters come to life on the big screen, and they are clearly fueling our sensational advance sales.”
Fifty Shades of Grey is also having the biggest first week of ticket sales on Fandango for a non-sequel film, since the first Hunger Games movie in 2012, which still holds the record. Theater owners are posting new showtimes each day on Fandango to meet the hot fan demand in all the fifty states.
At the end of December 2014, Fandango surveyed more than 1,000 ticket-buyers, asking them which 2015 films they’re most excited to see on the big screen. Fifty Shades ranked among the top four films, along with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, while Fifty Shades star Jamie Dornan was voted “Biggest Male Breakout Movie Star of 2015.”

You see I said, all those middle aged women dying to see it. I mean if everyone who bought the book saw the film, it would make over a billion. Obviously not saying it will, but wouldn't be shocked to see 500+

I find it always interesting to see top lists during the first month of a year, mostly due to hindsight at the end of the year given all the many films no one has seen footage for or even hear about.
I'm speaking about all these top anticipated lists, I suppose that goes double for the box office ones.

This year has some big ones and will no doubt trump 2014 domestically. But will it have the consistency? I personally think JP is this years GodZilla.

It honestly wouldn't shock me if Mad Max bombed.

Except Godzilla's first trailers were really well received. I don't remember hearing much negativity about them, unlike JP. So hopefully it has an opposite effect, and Jurassic World is awesome. lol

What do you mean by that, personally I thought Godzilla did about as I expecting I think I thought about 500-600 and it got 525

Looks like American Sniper is performing like a mid-range blockbuster. It earned $5.3M last night when it expanded nationwide, and is expected to earn $55M-60M during the four-day weekend. THR thinks it can make more thanks to the Oscar nominations, and The Wrap thinks it'll head north of $200M domestic when it leaves theaters.

Geez. War pics are on a roll now.

So, American Sniper...wow....just wow. Honestly, this might be the most shocked I've ever been with BO results. I know the buzz was high, but didn't realize it was THAT high.

Clint Eastwood and Bradley Cooper just helicopter dicked their way into BO bonanza. Damn, dude.

Looks like this year is poised to be a big rebound box office wise
