Brave and the Bold Casting Thread

I can see them doing Commissioner Barbara Gordon in this.

Depends on the tone of the film and what they are aiming for, if its a campier silver age version then I think Bill Hader would kill it. I think they will cast a comedian. **** dark and gritty if they want this version to standout they have to go full 60s show/ burton verse to work.

Hader is my choice for a Grant Morrison, "Clown at Midnight" take on The Joker.

He'd be a better Batman in my opinion, casting an actual comedian as Joker is way too lame. Hader and Driver are the Michael Keaton choices.

You say obvious, but how many Jokers have we had now that have been primarily dramatic actors?

Let’s give a comedy guy a shot.

I don't think Joker will be used on this, I hope not. They should take on Ras, Grundy, Man-Bat, Bane, Killer Croc, monster Clayface, Deathstroke, Deadshot, am I missing someone else?

I don't think they are going Batman Beyond age range with this "older" Batman, and I don't see them forgoing an opportunity to do their own version of Batgirl now that that movie was ****canned.
Who says Batgirl needs to be Barbara Gordon?

idk much about batgirl lore but isn't she the only one? curious to know if there's others

They could use Orphan/Cassandra Cain, but her ties to League of Assassins may be too similar to Damian’s.

I liked they way the Young Justice creators intertwined Cassandra and Barbara’s story.

As of now my options for Batman are:

Adam Driver
Bill Hader
Adam Scott
unknown actor

Maybe they could give a shot at an unknown it's never been done before

What about Joel Kinnaman?

Not my fave actor, but could be a dark horse pick.

I don't see much upside in making her an old lady Commissioner, when she would work much better as part of the Bat Family (either as Batgirl or as Oracle) around Dick Grayson's age.

Stan is still an active player in the MCU. I don't think we should expect too much cross-pollination with MCU actors.

All things equal though, he'd be a fun pick.

The more I think about it the more I'm convinced that Lee Pace is the absolute best choice for this.

Great actor, great look, great voice, right age, has worked with Gunn before, experienced with franchises, and also seems like he'd be up for having the role for 10 years.

I don't think there's a better choice out there, he just makes sense, I'm actually shocked there's not more people rallying behind him because he's absolutely perfect for a comic accurate, Bat-Family patriarch version of Bruce. He'd stand imposing against all the other Bat-Family members.

I can find cons for pretty much every other choice but I can't find a single one for him.

My Sam Heughan suggestion is flawless. :o

Lee Pace would be great though.

My thinking is that he's had quite a run as Bucky (not sure what much more there is for him to do in the MCU) and there is going to be so much comic book movie content by both Marvel and DC created that cross-pollination is just going to happen. Gunn even hinted at bringing the Guardians actors over if he thinks they are right for any DC characters he wants to cast. I think we are going to get more actors switching back and fourth as the time goes by.

I suspect a bunch of Gunn's Guardians are going to be done with the MCU after Vol. 3, so those actors wouldn't be playing in two universes concurrently.

In any case, Lee Pace falls under that category of someone Gunn has worked with who isn't an active player in the MCU. Extremely talented actor and has the look. Just don't know if we should expect a mid-30s or mid-40s Batman.
