Brave and the Bold Casting Thread

Unlikely? It's had a director, showrunner and writer for about a year longer than Brave and the Bold has lol. It's extremely likely this releases earlier than Brave and the Bold. It's not even implausible it might release on 2025, it's been on the works since October of last year.

Gunn hasn't confirmed it or denied it one way or the other. In fact Gunn implied Reeves is involved on more things in the DCU than just Arkham. And if he is involved in the Arkham show and appareantly more spin-offs, it only stands to reason he's gonna be involved in this as well. Not to mention, this movie being an unusual situation all-around with having to co-exist with Pattinson it only makes more sense they'd have the guy directing the other Batman franchsie that has to co-exist with this to give his two cents. I'm not saying he's gonna be the one casting but there is nothing remotely far fetched about Gunn asking him for his opinion.

Also... why wouldn't they let Reeves be involved in another Batman casting, especially when casting Pattinson was a giant win for everyone involved?

That doesn't mean much. The longevity of a project being in development varies and doesn't necessarily reflect on when it's coming out compared to others, especially when we're talking about interconnected universes. Arkham will be a spin-off of the Batman movie so it makes far more sense to come after. Not that DC always follows logic, but we also can't take anything for granted like you're presenting it. And even if Arkham comes first we don't know if Batman will be in it. I'm sure they would let an important decision like that to someone who's more involved.

I think it will either be Gunn making that decision alone or with the help of whoever ends up directing The Brave and the Bold, because we all know Muchietti won't be that person.

Jesus Christ dude. I asked who he'd suggest. I never implied or acted as if Reeves is gonna be casting Batman himself on this lmfao. Nolan suggested Wes Bentley for BvS appareantly. Did Wes Bentley end up getting cast? No. But he was buddies with Snyder and he gave his suggestion when asked. No reason to think that in one of the many many chats that Gunn will probably have with Reeves he wouldn't ask who he'd suggest especially since he's gonna be involved in DCU Batman projects too. Why do you have to make having any sort of discourse so needlessly complicated?

You know what was in that slate? The Brave and the Bold.

You are the one that started it and responded with something that in no way is even remotely interesting to talk about or ponder on lol. Even as just food for thought it'd be kinda fun to figure out who Reeves would suggest for an older Batman.

I think the most important quality for this Batman to have is gravitas and the problem is that a lot of the younger actors, even the talented ones, completely lack that in appearance, demeanor, etc.

I haven't seen enough of Bailey to know if his acting lives up to it, but his look at least has a maturity to it that looks waaay more fitting for the part of an experienced, patriarchal Batman that has already gone through several Robins and sidekicks that look up to him.

I've only seen him in Bridgerton and now Fellow Travelers on Showtime, but just based on those two things, Bailey's got some serious range. Sometimes have to remind myself it's the same guy. Also saw a really old clip of him auditioning for The Last Five Years on the West End, and just from that clip, despite the fact that he was singing a song (in an American accent!), the dramatic chops are blatantly evident, imo (and yes he did apparently land the part lol):



Also won an Olivier (the West End version of the Tonys) for the recent Company revival. Dude's got talent no doubt.

I haven't seen this guy's acting in anything, but since I've been trying to dig for choices in their 30s that are actually good and he seems to be developing a more mature look as of late, how about Callum Turner?

Looks a bit too british but maybe I could live with it if he turns out to be a mega great actor or something.

I think he would? Idk, he did approve of The Authority movie existing which is gonna have Apollo and Midnighter. And while I don't wanna act like Gunn is like an equality hero or something I do think that if he really wanted Lee as Batman that's something he'd probably be willing to fight, and I do think he has more than enough pull for it.

He might be a good studio choice for this daddy Batman.
