Does Sam Heughan have anything notable in terms of performances aside from Outlander? Feels like someone we may have been overlooking but aside from Outlander I can't really see anything to judge his acting by. I saw clips of his Batman Live show and I wasn't a fan of his performance but then again that was a really specific version of Batman.

I like Heughan's look but I've literally not seen him in anything.

Holy **** this dude looks like the american version of James Norton.
He was a runner-up for Captain America, too. A great actor, imo, which is why I suggested him previously for Hal. But if they're going with a name, obviously, it won't be him. He does have a natural Captain America vibe though, which is why I think he's wrong for Bruce.

I looked it up and he plays Ben Stone's son. He was the first Law & Order ADA played by Michael Moriarty.
He was also in a show called Strike Back about an anti-terrorist unit. That show was shameless, thrashy fun and, as I recall, he was an absolute beast in it. So his action credentials are definitely in order. I'd love to see him in a superhero movie.

It's not about fame lol It's that at least Corenswet has gotten a leading role in a Ryan Murphy TV show that I'm sure Netflix funded with the intention of being a big thing, that is a huge, huge on-screen get. He also got another gig in a recurring role on a David Simon show, and another big role with an Apple show that has Natalie Portman as the lead. Those are all huge huge gets for his age. Walker has nothing like that in his resume, the closest thing is the Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter movie. To me these analysis aren't so much about fame but more about "How much have producers and studios been charmed by these people?".

And while anything can happen, generally if you've been around the industry for 20 years and haven't even charmed a single studio or producer into giving you some sort of juicy supporting role on a major film or some leading role in even a bad TV show, what are the chances out of nowhere you'll get lucky and suddenly they'll like you for Batman?

I'm reminded of back in the day when Walker was original up for the role of Beast in First Class (but it conflicted with his Broadway schedule, an it ended up going to Hoult) would playing Beast in those movies have made him more of a home hold name? maybe/maybe not.... but, it's not like the guy does get offers or hasn't had opportunities

he just seems like the type of actor that doesn't pick roles based on what will be popular or further his career... but just roles that personally interest him... maybe turning down such offers in the past, made him less pursed by studios for certain lead roles

but he has had consistent work over the years... rather or not that work had mass appeal is more up for debate

and maybe this argument could also be used to suggest he wouldn't even want to play Batman, idk

As one of three Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson and Broadway American Psycho fans I’d be delighted with Walker.

Jeff Sneider has heard rumblings that the actor for the DCU Batman has already been chosen, and no it’s not Robert Pattinson.

I'd be very surprised if Gunn secretly cast what is presumably an extremely coveted role in Hollywood.

Why do you misreport what he actually says every single time? He said he heard gossip that DC MIGHT already have their pick. It wasn't a scoop.
