Brave and the Bold Casting Thread

Sadly Lee Pace is the only 'different' actor I could see playing a very different Batman than Pattinson.

We need all the Carlton comics in Gunnverse for Not Watchmen

The Question: Jonathan Groff

Blue Beetle: Adam Brody

Thunderbolt: Boyd Holbrook

Captain Atom: Alan Ritchson

Nightshade: Ella Purnell

and John Cena as Peacemaker
I know you’re joshing but Jonathan Groff as Question is fire.

Collin Farrell would be near the top of my list if he weren’t Penguin already. I know it technically doesn’t matter but I’d not be able to think about anything but Penguin
I'd say it definitely matters, it's such a huge reason why RDJ Doom pisses me off so much.

I'll throw out a new name I don't think I've heard...

For a Keith Giffen-Grant Morrison type of Batman, you need an actor w/ a commanding physicality and an underlying intensity or hint of internal conflict. I still think Elordi and Pace would kill it in that regard. The issue is that the former might be too young for what Gunn is ultimately looking for in a father figure/mentor role opposite Damian, whereas the latter is realistically too old for the part nowadays.

Austin Butler's another guy with plenty of screen presence; I just don't know if he's the right fit for this character. Then there's Ethan Peck: tall, dark, barely almost out of his thirties, and with one helluva great speaking voice, he just might be the safest choice of them all. In other words, we could be looking at a potentially great Batman or an incredibly boring one.

Yeah Jacob Elordi is pretty much perfect for Batman but he’s just too damn young for this version.

God he was amazing in Priscilla (that movie was a 10 for me). I wanted to hate him- I thought he was just the next talentless Hollywood hunk, but I was wrong. Dude is super talented.

God this song from the soundtrack is ****ing awesome

Yeah I like Elordi a lot and he would be absolutely perfect for a young Batman just starting out. But I’m thinking they want to go a bit older here; I feel Ike mid-30s (and maybe late 30s) is your sweet spot.

My favorite right now is Callum Turner. Loving him on Masters of the Air and if he crushes Neuromancer, he’s going to be the only choice for me.

Normal Mann was in that one how was he. :o

Just gonna say I absolutely cannot stand Callum Turner. Ever since War & Peace. One of the most punchable faces I've ever come across.

Keaton, Bale, Pattinson’s Batmen all felt unhinged and that makes them the best. West is unhinged in his own way too lol.

Snyder tried to make Affleck seem unhinged with all the violence, but he was just kinda dull and boring like Clooney and Kilmer. Affleck is not the most interesting actor. Really want to avoid a choice like that, where they look the part and are a great pick on paper, but lack the special sauce.

The actor needs to have a psycho quality- where it’s almost as believable for Bruce Wayne to be a serial killer as it is for him to be Batman.

I don’t see them going for a name as unknown as Nate Mann tbh. This is the most desirable role in the DCU along with Joker, I think WB and Gunn will select a more well known actor or someone on the cusp of stardom like Bale was.

I just watched the movie The Invisible Man, where Oliver Jackson-Cohen played the titular villainous character. He had little screentime, but I thought he nailed the role. I think he could be a solid contender for Batman.

He definitely has the intensity, but I get the sense that he could also bring that understated warmth that a bat-family Bruce should have. He is 38, which is in the ideal age range. His voice when he uses an American accent sounds like the Telltale Bruce Wayne.

Here's a pretty cool concept image somebody made:
