Brave and the Bold Casting Thread

my real unconventional pick....
(who I think could fit well into where this Bruce/Batman would be in his life) over some of the younger/ more traditional leading man type suggestions that have been making the rounds

Tom Burke (6', 44 y.o.)
(not necessarily who you might think of as an "action star", but, I think he held his own pretty good in that Mad Max, Furiosa movie in the action scenes...)

an it goes without saying anyone who gets cast is going to be hitting the gym/ going though the Hollywood superhero training program, anyway...
so, I'm sure he could get into whatever shape they need him to be

I dig it, I can picture him as a "brawler" type of Batman. But if Gordon doesn't deduce Bats's secret identity by having a close look at his upper lip alone, he shouldn't be a cop.

Tom Burke is pretty great. A bit older than I would prefer but since we’re getting BatDad, he could definitely work.

Gosling as Batman would be one of the biggest casting coups in history and it will never, ever happen. WB wouldn't want to pay him the RDJ levels of money required and its hard to imagine him signing up for ten years to begin with.
I totally think he'd do it at this stage. But WB is too cheap at this point.

Currently watching Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? and circling back to Will Poulter for Batman. He probably wouldn’t be too expensive, and he obviously already has a good relationship with Gunn. Great actor, strong build and good height, and he can have a really powerful, booming voice when he wants too. Not sure if he’d want to take on another superhero role, but since Batman is the superhero everyone seems to want to play, I could see it. Also, out of all the names that have been brought up lately, him and Bill Skarsgard are probably the only ones I would be really excited about because I feel like they are at or around the same caliber of actor as Pattinson.

Ha! Poulter was cast as Pennywise before Skarsgard. I’d be happy with either of them as Joker but I think I’d prefer they don’t play Batman.

Wouldn’t mind Bill as Batman and Will as Joker though.

Oh yeah I forgot about the Pennywise thing. I wonder how he would have been.
OJC clears all the other smaller name, "classic" choices. Except for my boy Cosmo, the one true King.

Oh yeah, OJC would be great. I like him a lot; he can play good and bad really well, which you need to play Batman. I hope his name is in the conversation. I feel like he’s kinda fallen off a bit in the past couple years but I hope he has Gunn’s attention.

He'd kill it as Jason Todd. Batman, I don't see it tbh.

I don't remember him from Mad Max, but I did like him in Black Bag.

He kinda reminds me of a fusion of a young Oliver Reed and Orson Welles , which, I'd be cool with a Batman who could exude the acting talent of those two actors.

Young Oliver Reed had some serious Bruce Wayne vibes going on.

Now, imagine a World's Finest movie with Oliver Reed as Batman and Clint Walker as Superman.

Poulter is getting a chance to play Pennywise in Scary Movie! I hope he plays it how he was going to do it

Isn't Poulter already playing Supergirl? :o

In all seriousness, I like him a lot, but I don't really see him fitting the Batman that DCU seems to want to create. He's definitely welcome in that universe, though!

Speaking of that “Evans” show, I would love it if Poulter’s costar Lucy Boynton (and Corenswet’s costar in a couple other things) showed up in the DCU. A few possible options…

Harley Quinn
Lana Lang
Saturn Girl
Black Canary
Stargirl
