Breaking News: Osama Bin Laden Is Dead! - Part 4

Do you believe that Osama Bin Laden's killing was legal?

  • Yes

  • No

  • It honestly doesn't matter to me if it's legal or not. It's what needed to be done.

I certainly suffer from non of the above so... your point is?

Keep buying into what they feed you with no evidence.

Yet you question with no evidence

I'm thinking that the US will destroy the government of Iran after it defaults on its own national debt and then causes Tehran to enter a revolution too.

In other words, you think the US will start yet another costly and unnecessary war this time with Iran? When all voters, left and right, want is to withdraw troops from Iraq and Afghanistan and focus on domestic issues, like jobs and the deficit? Well, the best I can say is I guess it's not as tone-deaf as some of Bill Kristol's past predictions.

No. I'm saying that if America defaults on its debt and goes into bankruptcy, then it cause more chaos in the Middle East as major damage is done to the U.S. Dollar. The reserve currency will be worth much less and increase food and fuel prices. This will place much greater pressure on already weakened peoples and their governments, especially this year in the Middle East, and on Iran which is already undergoing major protests. The stress from such an economic disaster would topple the regime there by the hands of another revolution like in Egypt or Tunisia. If this occurs, America will have no choice but to look inwardly and to focus on all of its domestic issues, and do so very quickly.

I think the embarrassment of the world's lone "superpower" being unable to pay its own bills would force U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya at their current rates or even quicker. If Iraq is swept up in social revolution too it will at least be more democratic and be of the will of its people. As a double-edged sword, it may be the very kick in the teeth America needs to wake up on its foreign policy.

Ahhhh... gotcha! I stand corrected. To be fair though, you could have been a bit clearer. :oldrazz:

I've gotten to the point where the, "Bin Laden is not dead, keep eating what they feed you sheep!" crowd just doesn't even make me raise an eyebrow anymore.

There are conspiracy theories that have atleast some small twinkle of iffiness to keep them alive...this is not one of them. Al Queda themselves say he's dead...Al Queda...The last ppl on Earth who would want him dead. He's their franchise, he funds them, he pulls in new recruits, and THEY say he's dead. It's only a small group who never believe anything anyway (everythings photoshopped, there were Oompa Loompa's in the background of the moon landing!), and die hard Osama Bin Laden supporters who need him to be alive on a personal and emotional level, that's even making this an issue.

Plus, it's not like the pics have only been seen by 5 or 6 ppl in the Presidents cabinet. The pics have been shown to all the Senator's as well, Republicans and Democrats.

I heard this on, I want to think it was the daily show. It only took them a few days after it all went down to do so too, lol.

What are they going to do? Cast the Rock as a grizzled veteran, who's trying to win over his children's heart by challenging Bin Laden to a game of soccer? They're Disney...heh.

It's sad tho, real ppl, real heroes putting their lives on the line, and to a company who did nothing in this effort they're just a cash cow. When you think about it past the surface level it really is sickening.

you'd think that Al Qaeda's greatest blow to America would be for Bin Laden to show up ad be like "Im not dead"

No, his greatest blow to us was hiding his huge porn stash. Sheep, beard shaving, and women even show their ankles. I guess we atleast know he wasn't bored those 6 or so years living in a mansion without cable or internet.

.....

Too soon to make fun of him for the porn, old man fiddling around with a TV remote stuff?

Man, Pakistan is so sleazy. I always knew they weren't to be trusted, but I never expected they were this much in bed with the terrorist groups. There was a great article in Foreign Affairs about how the ISI and military completely ignores groups that don't attack Pakistan and how they use groups that attack foreign powers (primarily Afghanistan and India) to their advantage. Elements in the ISI might even have played a part in coordinating the Mumbai attack a couple years ago. They really are just a terrorist state more or less.

Well, the Bin Laden situation in Pakistan has completely destroyed any credibility that Pakistan may have had.

I say.....we let India have them.

Well they don't directly support terrorism as far as I know, and they have only made themselves a target by supporting him and not dealing with groups like him better.

It's not a nice thing to say, but if war broke out between Pakistan and India, I would definitely be on the side of India.

But China would be on the side of Pakistan, and nuclear weapons use would be very likely.

I didn't mean help India engage Pakistan militarily. That would be insane. I mean morally I would hope India would win and be rooting for them. But if the US was forced to take a side, then I hope it would be India's.

India gave us Gandhi, Bollywood and lamb vindaloo. Pakistan gave us the Taliban and loose nuclear secrets.

But China had bought half of U.S. government bonds and debt. If there is a war we may have to side with China and Pakistan if we don't want the world economy ruined and the Middle East to upset over a fourth war in the region in just the last ten years. I see America staying neutral as long as possible though.
