Breaking News: Osama Bin Laden Is Dead! - Part 4

Do you believe that Osama Bin Laden's killing was legal?

  • Yes

  • No

  • It honestly doesn't matter to me if it's legal or not. It's what needed to be done.

I realize economic and political implications have to be taken into account, but if we ever sided with Pakistan and China over India then we would have truly lost our moral compass. It would be a pretty sad day.

Conducting one-man manhunts of the world's most-wanted terrorist is so 2010. Well, by land at least.

In a possible ploy to one-up the Colorado construction worker arrested last year in Pakistan with a pistol, a sword and night-vision equipment while hunting by himself for Osama bin Laden, a California man reportedly plans to search the Arabian Sea to find the now-dead terrorist's body.

Salvage diver Bill Warren, 59, told the New York Post in an article posted to the tabloid's website Sunday that he wants to photograph bin Laden's body and show the world evidence of the al Qaeda founder's death.

U.S. Navy SEALs killed bin Laden during a raid on his Pakistani compound May 2 and then buried his body at sea. President Obama first told "60 Minutes" correspondent Steve Kroft that he had seen pictures of bin Laden's body and decided not to release them to the public.

Warren, who the Post reports has found more than 200 shipwrecks, disagreed with Mr. Obama's decision.

"The Obama administration should have released the photo, like we did with Billy the Kid, or [John] Dillinger, or even Saddam Hussein," Warren told the Post. "I have a Russian girlfriend, and she tells me that over there, in intelligence circles, they don't believe bin Laden's really dead."

Warren's quest won't be cheap. He told the Post he plans to set sail for two weeks in July and will likely spend about $400,000 total on the hunt, including the $10,000-per-day cost of renting a ship in India and the $1,000 daily charge for a remote-controlled submarine.

i don't think the diving guy will find osama, pretty sure sharks would've gotten to him by now

It looks like Al-Zawahiri has been named the new leader of Al-Qaeda...

That ought to bring some stability to their side now that they've re-upped his contract, if they can get lucky in the draft they may even contend for their division in a year or two...

The last body found from the sinking of the Titanic was found two years later, so who knows what could be out there.

And yet this administration is doing something almost comparable, IF NOT COMPARABLE to that with Israel.

Wish Osama was dead, but frankily it's difficult to trust the government that he's really dead. Although if he was ever revealed alive, it would be nuclear chaos

Osama is dead. Mistrust in government is natural, but it's important not to go too far the other way and believe everything is a conspiracy theory. If there was true doubt that he was dead, the GOP and opposing nations would be all over it and Al Qaeda wouldn't have confirmed his death and replaced him.

On your last point, I'm not really seeing the connection between "Osama being revealed alive" and a subsequent "nuclear chaos." How would that work?

Perhaps Osama gets irradiated by one of those underwater French nuke tests and rises out of the ocean triumphant like the Cloverfield monster? Is that what you meant by "nuclear chaos"?

"Ahhhhh radioactive Islamic terrorist beard!!!!"

Only Godzilla can save us now...

i find it funny that Al Qaeda doesnt need pictures to verify his death...yet somehow we do

To be fair, in America can't you just by nukes over the counter at your local Walmart?

Well yeah but it generally works out cheaper if you buy the parts to make your own casings and the fissionable materials separate and put it together yourself.

Cheap as Walmart is, they're still out to make a buck.

Typical Walmart.

I think I saw Gamestop was giving away tactical nukes as a pre-order bonus with Modern Warfare 3 though... That's pretty cool.

That's because Al Qaeda is just a creation of the American government to give the country a new Soviet Union that we can wage war against for the profit of the Military Industrial Complex.

Who cares? We spy at every country in the world (including China). Everything we freak out about when another country does it to us, we have already done ten times to that country. None of this ultimately matters unless another country is panning to invade us (which they are not). The elite scare you about he international relationships while they screw you at home. This isn't complicated, just pay attention to you and your friends needs.
