He's always stepping down though. I think this is the 3rd time.

He said he is stepping down for good this time.

Farage could be lying and just taking a back seat to see how things fall after the referendum which is what I think Boris is doing.

It's all a mirage from Farage. :o

Maybe he'll join a less controversial party.

He's the one that made them a controversial party. If I remember the other founders of the party once kicked him out because he wanted to recruit from English Defense League types (and other racist groups) and he took them to court to get back in. He then drove the other founders out.

The US will happily accept you all as a vassal state. Bend the knee boyos.

Michael Goves leadership bid to be next prime minister failed.

Theresa may looks favorite to be the next prime minister.
Right winger Andrea Leadsom is her main rival.

I'm pretty sure Thatcherism hating parts of northern England and Wales wouldn't be happy to see Leadsom as the next leader of the country.

Gove has just scored an extraordinary own goal. Noone will trust his scheming ass over splitting the cost of a pizza, never mind any political alliance.

Gove trying to Game Of Thrones his way to Prime Minister and failing has been a fun watch.

Haha yep. You play those games (if you really have to) behind the scenes so that people don't find out . The obvious way he did it was just silly.

Somewhere in here is a really great "Thick of It" episode. Dying to know how Malcolm Turner would have handled this situation.

Its like he was trying and failing to be a real life Littlefinger.

Perfect article expressing the dangers of globalism and how to protect your financial portfolio from such measures.

http://www.barchart.com/headlines/story/224931/gold-and-silver-be-afraid-at-the-very-least-be-wary

Short story pertaining to Brexit, the central bankers in Europe and the IMF committee are out to get you. Buy gold and silver to protect yourself.

Here is my two cents on the EU and monetary policy:

1. Central bankers stimulate economies with QE (quantitative easing) and bailouts buy buying treasuries and corporate bonds.

2. Municipal banks that loan money can't make money with zero or negative interest rates set by the central banks. Hence investors take less risks, move more money into government and corporate bonds and safe dividend yielding equities.

3. Your money sitting in a bank right now doesn't grow (I made 500 bucks on my life time savings pre-tax last year to give you an idea and I have more savings than the average person my age). Central banks print more money to bail out private banks that make bad loans/investments that artificially prop up equities. Huge bubble created.

4. Once equities pop, the first thing the central bankers are going to want is to collect the government debt. Governments have to print more money. Hence you see Greece and Puerto Rico opting for defaults and the rest of the EU and US paying for that debt through inflation or increased federal taxes.

5. Central banks get richer and more profitable when there is a single currency. Enter the Euro. The EU policy makers demand that more Euro notes are printed for governments to pay that debt.

As you can see, the pound along with the Euro is collapsing. The US dollar is rapidly gaining on all these currencies, but soon, the USD$ will run into the same problem. Excessive government spending and debt, leading to hyperinflation.

We need to get back to local currencies and dissolve central fiat currencies. Of course that impedes trade in the near term, but the long term benefits include a greater economic safe measures for local economies and the people in those communities dependent on local businesses.

Obviously, people in Siberia need to trade with people in Brazil for fruits and veggies. We need commodities in other areas of the world. That's why you move back to the gold standard. You tie a global digital currency strictly fixed on the supply of gold and silver, which doesn't change all that much. Companies, especially the miners, have to horde the metals not only for core business but to hedge against Fiat currencies, which will collapse against gold and silver if the micromanaging continues.

I would say Bitcoin can be effective if it is strictly tied to value added from data mining and book keeping as it does to the best of my knowledge. Data mining takes far more resources than panning for gold from the sound of it. We need something of fixed supply and not a paper fiat currency that can be manipulated based on supply and demand.

Centrists Tories and Labour MPs are talking about founding a new centrist grouping in the mould of the Social Democratic party (SDP) should the two main traditional parties continue to polarize with Corbyn continuing as Labour leader and Leadsom becoming Tory leader.

You know things are crazy when the centrists on either side of the political spectrum would rather join up and start a new party than remain members of parties moving further left or right.

That is crazy haha. Would be good news for fringe parties with the big 2 split into 3. Noone would ever get a majority and we'd need a coalition for every government (assuming that the new centrist party did well). I do prefer centrist politics myself though.

Leadsom has now pulled out so Theresa May will be the new prime minister.

May as Prime Minister will be interesting. The Police Federation hate her.

May was also the architect of that awful Snoopers Charter which she is still trying to push through.

I have already seen a load of welcome to V For Vendetta/1984 posts on social media sites.

On the plus side Farage is mad that Leadsom dropped out.

Towns that voted overwhelmingly in favour of leaving the EU are among the first victims of post-Brexit manufacturing job losses.

Last week Forterra, one of Britain’s biggest brick makers, said it would mothball plants in Accrington and Claughton, both in Lancashire, ahead of a potential downturn in construction. The towns are in boroughs that voted 66% and 63%, respectively, for Brexit.

Days after signing the petition for a second referendum i've just received this email:

Dear ************,

You recently signed the petition “EU Referendum Rules triggering a 2nd EU Referendum”:

The Petitions Committee has decided to schedule a House of Commons debate on this petition. The debate will take place on 5 September at 4.30pm in Westminster Hall, the second debating chamber of the House of Commons. The debate will be opened by Ian Blackford MP.

The Committee has decided that the huge number of people signing this petition means that it should be debated by MPs. The Petitions Committee would like to make clear that, in scheduling this debate, they are not supporting the call for a second referendum. The debate will allow MPs to put forward a range of views on behalf of their constituents. At the end of the debate, a Government Minister will respond to the points raised.

A debate in Westminster Hall does not have the power to change the law, and won’t end with the House of Commons deciding whether or not to have a second referendum. Moreover, the petition – which was opened on 25 May, well before the referendum – calls for the referendum rules to be changed. It is now too late for the rules to be changed retrospectively. It will be up to the Government to decide whether it wants to start the process of agreeing a new law for a second referendum.

Thanks,
The Petitions team
UK Government and Parliament

David Cameron's making his resignation speech outside Buckingham Palace.

EDIT: Oops, I thought that was live. Nope, he's in Buckingham Palace handing his resignation to the queen.

Congrats! Hope she can lead us out of this mess!

She's just arrived at Number 10 and is beginning her first speech as Prime Minister.

EDIT: And that's it, she's just gone into Number 10.
