Britney will receive the Ultimate Choice Award at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards, according to a newly published press release.

But is Britney still PERFORMING at the awards show?

Yesterday, Britney's official site confirmed the news of a Britney performance. Today, however, their update has changed.

It now says Britney is just APPEARING at the Teen Choice Awards - no mention of a performance.

UPDATE: Britney is not performing at the 2009 TCA's, confirmed by Access Hollywood:

"The site initially announced on Thursday morning that she would perform on the show. Following the initial announcement, a rep for the ceremony told Access Hollywood that the pop princess would not be performing."

At least now I won't have to watch those annoying TCAs.

Buuuut Rolling Stone is saying Brit might perform at the VMAs..

She's not performing at the Teen Choice Awards. I wrote that a few posts up or on the previous page. Sucks though because I was looking forward to that.

Britney is being honored with the Ultimate Choice Award at the Teen Choice Awards. This coveted award will be presented to Britney in recognition of her extraordinary contributions to the entertainment industry.

Britney has won more Teen Choice Surfboard Awards than any other female artist in the history of the show.
