Anyone else really enjoy this scene? IMO, Beltrami's music really makes it work, capturing all the emotion that everyone's feeling at the time. That, coupled with that last shot of HB looking over the funeral while holding his Father's cross make it one of my favorite comic book movie scenes overall, let alone one of my favorite scenes in the movie, which is awesome.

That was a great scene. They have showing the film on FX for the past couple of weeks. I saw the film in when it was in the theaters. It grows on your over time.

Yeah, i watched Hellboy a few nights ago. I loved that scene the music the shots and then (while raining) Hellboy standing on a building watching it go down while Blair's character sees him.

Very cool.

This scene is a really cool scene. I hope they keep the same music for the next movie and Beltrami. I loved Hellboy's shot on the roof.

lots of people say that the film fell down at many of the serious bits, but in my opinion, the funeral scene was beautiful - i really cant think how they could have done it better.

i didnt say that i agreed with said people . . . im just telling u what i heard. i thought it was all great!

I agree, I find that a beautifully moving moment in the film. Considering how not a single word is said during the scene, it allows for the score to be much more prominant and to build so much more in comparison to other moments in the film.

The close up of Hellboy standing in the rain, as the shot moves to show him clutching his father's crucifix in his hand, is just wonderful, as is the moment just before the funeral, as Hellboy enters the crime scene to find what has happened to his father.

The death of a loved one will do that to you.
