Bruce Lee. The Actor. The Philosopher. The Legend.

:cmad: Bruce Lee was all that and a bag of chips....DEADLY chips!!!!

Bruce was the man and one of the most importan figure in last century. A hero, a philospher, a legend, a badass. Bruce rules

My favourite movie, maybe enter the dragon.

The thing that i admire the most of bruce is that he was a brave and intelligent man, with a very true philosofy of life and with a brillaint mind in all the aspects. He could talk about everything and say very interesting things about all the things.

Hail Bruce.

You guys do know Bruce Lee wasn't all that, right? He was a legend in his own right, but he was more of a movie star than he was a martial artist.

I invite you all to this link, where some missconceptions about Bruce Lee might be cleared up. You can skip pretty much everything but the section dedicated to Bruce Lee.
It kinda got lost on the previous page.

Bruce Lee is the absolute man. He was an amazing martial artist and a well rounded individual. He is one of my heroes as well.

My favorite movie of his has to be Enter the Dragon.

Bruce Lee was so great, he's one of my heroes too. All the good people die too soon, Bruce Lee, John Lennon, Abe Linkin' (:woot: ), John Candy, Mitch Hedberg, Christopher Reeve, and the list goes on...

Honestly I never liked Bruce Lee movies, but I will admit that for me he is a legend

Where is all the Bruce love damn it?? :csad:

I think I'll post some pics of The Man.

This thread has only been posted in ONCE since I've had an account here?!

And it was a BUMP?!?!?! :csad:

I've been a die-hard Bruce Lee fan ever since I first saw Fist of Fury(The Chinese Connection) when I was...man, I don't even know how old, maybe 10 or 11. That was my first awakening to the fantastic world of true martial-arts action film. I've got every one of his films in the Bruce Lee Master Collection, and the two-disk special edition of Enter the Dragon. If my house ever goes up in flames, those are among the first things that are making it out.

The man was a legend, a visionary, and an exceptional human being, to say the very least.

Sifu Lee Jun Fan has my full support.

Sifu to his friends and students, Si-gung to many of his students, students, and Sijo to everyone since he created Jun fan/Jeet Kune Do...:woot:

Lookie he's killing Jackie Chan:woot:

The two factions of JKD bother me though
Jeet Kune Do Nucleus
Jeet Kune Do Concepts(Dan Inosanto's crowd)

The nucleaus tends to follow and continue the system that lee created for himself. Instead of finding their own way like lee first intended them to do, they just copy.

The Concepts(which I like) crowd tends to follow Lee's philosophies to a T. They beleive we shouldn't just copy Lee(mainly because he had the speed and power to make his system work) rather we should take the system and find out what works for us....

I never offically dove into Jun Fan/JKD but I decided a year ago to develope my own personal style using what I've been doing for 21 years. By combining

Aikido
Kenpo
Boxing(mainly for the stance and maneuverability)
Jujitsu
Wing Chun
Arnis(newest system I'm studying)

I saw this thread and though, wait i never created that, i've never even seen a Bruce Lee movie.

Then i realised.

I couldn't stop laughing when I first found out the truth about that scene from Enter the Dragon. :funny:

When I was 12, I started taking Tae Kwon Do, and graduated to blue belt, then I moved on to Kito-ryu Jujutsu when I was 16. I really regret not following through with either of them, and maybe I'll pick up with martial-arts again someday, but I was involved with them long enough to realize that, as Bruce Lee states himself, the martial-arts are a form of expression and growth. It was that kind of philosophy that drove my interest even further as I got older.

I'm not hating or anything, but shouldn't this be in the "celebrity" forum?

Back to the Bruce Lee curse, they say that he had a fight with some demon in his dream and lost and died. They say it only fights the males in his family. So why don't all the dead guys fight the demon to end the curse so all the living males can live on? if it's true, maybe that's why Brandon Lee died as well. I feel bad cuase either one of them would have been living legends if they were alive. :(
