Heard about this on the radio this morning, so unfortunatly I don't a link yet.

In Loudon County, VA, a couple was jogging early in the morning this week, when they were stopped by a small group of men. They were beaten and sliced open. Both husband and wife were cut from their belly buttons to their throats, and then once again across the chest. The husband was then picked up and impaled on a nearby fence. The wife was left for dead, but authorities got to the scene in time to save her. She is now in the hospital, her condition unknown. Witnesses claim that a suspicious van with men inside was seen moments before the attack, but no identities or descriptions were known.

This apparently is not the first case. A few weeks back, another man was killed in the same way (the cutting, atleast). The husband in the most recent murder was said to be ex-CIA, and is connected to the first death in some way.

And these two known incidents might not even be it. On the radio this morning, they were trying to get police to tell them if there was any more cases like this, and the cops refused to answer, leading many to believe that yes, these are not icolated incidents, but a string of connected, brutal murders with possibly more to follow.

Is this a gang? A traveling group of serial killers? Someone with a grudge? Is there a political element (or is the fact that one man was CIA just a coincidence)?

Very strange. Very scary. (I live just an hour from where this happened).

It is so easy to murder and get away with it.

Always has been.

Which is why I am always somewhat troubled by the men who are caught after the act when they don't display signs of brain damage.

I'm sure they'll be caught. one of them will mess up eventually which will give the police a break in the case. these guys are no dexter...

hopefully. I'm leaning towards it being a gang, possibly an initiation process or soemthing...MS-13 has gotten huge around here...

Jugging is dangerous.

Damn... That's insane. Nice horror movie material. I hate that the wife survived without her husband.

That is the same exact expression I get when it happens man.

It's such an exaggerated kill though, that they've won themselves publicity, which means people are more likely going to be looking for them over the guy that killed multiple victims, but didn't leave a calling card. Hey, people have gotten away from worse, but I seriously doubt with today's technology that they wont be able to pinpoint someone eventually.

Now's when you leave the country.

and from what the radio is saying, its not just local cops investigating (a total of 13 detectives working round the clock) but the FBI is also on it too. They are taking this very seriously...

This sounds so brutal that its fake but I believe you.

Its too bad Pre-Cogs aren't real.

Maybe retaliation by a former CIA target ?

The husband took part in a special op many years ago. Someone slipped up and forgot to tie up all the loose ends. Now someone's paying them back by hunting them down.

Got this off a episode of NCIS :o

Can you give examples of some of this technology? Because I can see where you're coming from but I get the feeling you don't see where I am coming from.

...anyway, found a news artical that mentions it:

http://www.myfoxdc.com/dpp/news/033009_new_details_in_couples_attack

It doesnt go into the details of the attack, but as i said, one of the (anyonomous) callers who was a part of the investigation would admit to the injuries the couple sustained; of course you gotta take it with a grain of salt these days.

I heard from a coworker who say a news segment this morning state that the ex CIA husband was also a Green Beret...

That was pointed at zan, but either way forget it.

That's freaky... I have family in Loudon County... :(

Does anyone yet know what city this was in?

I came up with the theory that because the horrors that people do to do each in real life. Pale in comparison to any horror movie. There has to be love that Pale in comparison to movies like Ghost, Titanic, Casablance, etc....

This is still really messed up!!!

Most of those fictionalized are inspired by real events.

Ugh...that sounds disgusting!!

I read about the Manson and Jeffrey Dahmer murders....now those are seriously disturbing and sick! :csad: *gags*

Listen up my droogies, there's nothing wrong with a little bit of the ole' ultra violence every now and again...singing in the rain...just singing in the rain...

Whoa... That really is pretty close to some family that I have. Creepy.

My vote is for super-villian. Also I vote we should import the Iron Man kids with the HAL suits from that other thread to take these guys out.
