Pffft.... haters. That's Trip McNeely, for God sake. :o

Deadline:
Mariana Klaveno To Play Lily Munster For NBC If ‘Devious Maids’ Releases Her
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

Mariana Klaveno has been cast as Lily Munster in NBC’s Munsters reboot Mockingbird Lane. However, Klaveno’s deal for Mockingbird Lane is contingent on her being released from a pilot she had a regular role on, ABC’s Devious Maids. Klaveno is not one of the leads on Devious Maids and has just a few lines in the pilot. But, in light of the project’s possible move to Lifetime, in an act of gamesmanship or a mix of both, Devious Maids producer ABC Studios has so far refused to release the actress. I hear that, in a major departure from precedent, NBC is even willing to let Klaveno recur on Devious Maids in exchange for securing her in first position to Mockingbird Lane where she would play the female lead.

ABC Studios has been looking to cut costs for Devious Maids‘ potential move to cable (I hear the main actresses have been asked to take a pay cut), but the studio has not agreed to convert Klaveno’s role to a recurring so she can join Mockingbird Lane. After one extension, I hear there is now a ticking clock that expires at the end of business today to get Klaveno released from Devious Maids so she can play Lilly Munster. At this point, with ABC Studios digging in (They have Klaveno in first position until at least June 30 when they can extend her option), it is probably going to take a miracle, or call from NBC topper Bob Greenblatt to Devious Maids creator Marc Cherry to get her released. If that doesn’t happen, NBC will likely go back to the drawing board and start casting the Lily Munster role again.
Written by Bryan Fuller and to be directed by Bryan Singer, Mockingbird Lane is described as a reinvention of the 1960s sitcom about The Munsters, a family of “monsters” — vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein, and their “plain” cousin (Charity Wakefield) — that will feature striking visuals in the vein of Fuller’s ABC dramedy Pushing Daisies. Jerry O’Connell plays family patriarch Herman Munster who is married to Lily, a vampire, with whom he has fathered a 10-year-old boy, Eddie (Mason Cook). Eddie Izzard plays Grandpa in the reboot.
She was great as Lorena on True Blood. She was a total psychopath, but still. :o:up:

She was great on True Blood. I have no problem with this casting. But I'm still recovering from the previous casting, lol.

Her episodes were the only ones I've ever seen of True Blood. She was captivating.

good choice.

Portia de Rossi Cast As Lily Munster
Portia de Rossi, known for her platinum blonde locks, is taking on one of TV’s best known brunettes — Lily Munster. The Arrested Development and Better Off Ted alumna is set to play the female lead in NBC’s Munsters reboot Mockingbird Lane.

Mariana Klaveno had previously been cast as Lily Munster but the deal was contingent on her being released from ABC’s pilot Devious Maids, where she was a regular. However, Devious Maids producer ABC Studios did not release Klaveno or agree to make her a recurring on the project, which is in consideration for a series pickup at Lifetime, sending NBC back to the drawing board.

Intriguing... Klaveno would've been great, but if ABC was being a ***** about it, what are they gonna do?

De Rossi is very interesting...

Plus, semi-reunion for her and O'Connell. They were both in Scream 2.

Well, I was more intrigued at the possibility of Klaveno, but Lindsay Bluth is always awesome so no complaints there.

According to Fuller, they started shooting today. Hopefully we get a shot of the whole family soon.

I just hope Portia being In this won't affect her returing for Arrested devolpment.

:awesome:

Looks like something Gary Oldman's Dracula would've worn.

Bryan Singer is directing the pilot? That seems quite a step down from Superman and Jack the Giant Killer.

Prominent film directors directors do pilots for TV shows all the time. Scorsese did Boardwalk Empire, Doug Liman did The OC, McG did Chuck, Barry Sonnenfeld did Pushing Daisies, Michael Mann did Luck, Gus Van Sant did Boss, etc. It's not really a step down, because they're setting the standards and creating a look and tone for an entire series.

Did you see Superman Returns and the trailer for Jack the Giant Killer? :o

Bryan singer did direct the pilot for House so he has directed a pilot that has made It to
Series before.

After Jack bombs...Bryan needs to go to tv full time or go back to X-Men.

tho it seen the role has already been cast and production already started...

so I am a little late to the game, but just to throw in my two cent
My ideal cast for a modern Herman Munster would've been

Owain Yeoman,

After Jack bombs...Bryan needs to go to tv full time or go back to X-Men.
no thanks, that franchises has traded up as of late. I'll stick with Vaughn. as for this, I'll give anything with portia de rossi and eddie izzard a try.

Bryan Singer Is still very muc Involved with X-Men he devolped story Idea and produced
First Class. Is producing Days of future Past and It Is likely based on Ideas he had for X4.
Only announced film directing assignment once Jack th giant killer Is released Is remake
of battlestar Galactica which Is suspose to be more faithful to original series.

This has poential to be Intresting. Also Singer and Bryan fuller at one point were discussing Ideas how to bring Star Trek Back to TV.That Is perhapes a reason why Singer got Involved with this.Intresting cast.I just hope this won't hurt the arrested devolpment return.

don't get me wrong I've enjoyed his movies, I just prefer Mathew Vaughn's vision for the x men.

first Class Is really cross between the two as far as vision goes.

Based on track record of Singer's past Pilot directing this has a 50 percent chance of getting picked up.He did the pilot for House which did and directed pilot for football wives that didn't.They have Intresting cast here and were smart enough to change the
title. If this Is decent I can't see NBC passing.
