Bullet Train (Brad Pitt)

Not wrong.

I understand how you feel. Sometimes action or heist movies that play that quirky style can get on my nerves. It really just depends on the actors and script can draw me in and keep my attention. That was generally the case here.

I definitely felt the length of it once it got to third act, but I really enjoyed this for the most part. I miss unapologetic, over the top, violent action flicks like this because this is the kind of film, we use to get all the time back in the 90's and early 2000's except not on this big of a budget or with this much of an A-list cast.

Sure, most of them are pretty much cameos and you've seen this kind of film done better by the likes of Tarantino or Guy Ritchie but that doesn't make it any less of a blast to sit through.

Brad Pitt is great in this and a lot of fun in his role, but this movie absolutely belongs to ATJ and Bryan Tyree Henry who honestly deserve their own spinoff movie IMO because of how much I loved their characters.

The movie was okay. Definitely reminded me of Smokin’ Aces, but felt the length as others have stated. I think some of the cameos were good, but the last 20 mins was too ridiculous for my taste.

It's part Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Smokin’ Aces, Seven Psychopaths, and Shoot 'Em Up all rolled into one.

I wouldn't be surprised if it got a small cult following in a couple of years.

It's doing well for itself financially and given how quiet the rest of the month is, strong word of mouth like this is gonna give it legs.

Had a good bit of fun with this. Yes it was OTT but the characters and atmosphere was fun and the characters were all interesting. It was also a movie where you didn't have to engage your brain too much which I was thankful for after a long day.

There wasn't really a character I disliked I liked them all but Joey King was the standout for me with a great performance. Also, she has grown into a fine young woman which helped :hrt:.

A fairly entertaining movie. Good cast hamming it up. Aaron Taylor Johnson was particularly fun, and while I like Brian Tyree Henry in this too, his english accent was rubbish. Bit of a throwback to the post-Tarantino 'cool' crime story, but less smug than a Guy Ritchie film and has its moments.

Blows my mind this cost less than half of Gray Man's budget. What a waste that was.

You could tell this was cheap in parts, how much was the budget exactly?

Hoping to finally catch this tonight, if not Sunday for sure

I enjoyed this movie very much, especially the cast. I got to say though, does anyone else feel like between the two John wick 1 directors that Chad Stahelski is the better one. At least with the action anyway. All of David Leitch’s movies by himself have good action scenes but I feel like he goes for style way more when it comes to the camera and some of the edits where as Chad goes for as Hong Kong influenced as possible. I noticed it a little more when the John Wick 4 trailer played with this and Hiroyuki Sanada’s short fight clip in that was much clearer and wider than his fight in this movie, and it just had me thinking in general about the two. I still think the closest David has gotten to that style by himself was Atomic Blonde, especially the staircase fight.

I will say I enjoy Stahelski’s films more, but would like to see what he can do outside of JW.

Just got out. I had fun but the two different tones didn't really work for me. It didn't try to take itself seriously but other times kinda felt that it did. A decent enough two hours but not one I'd probably watch again.

Watched it last night and I enjoyed the hell out of it. It was more comedy than action for me, but the action scenes were really well done though they did kinda go over the top in certain parts

Aaron Taylor Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry stole the show. Loved their chemistry and felt they had the most memorable scenes

Fun time I liked it a lot. I apparently went at senior citizen hour as there were a bunch of old people, similar to my Hustlers screening, and they all loved it too. A very lively bunch they were.

Just caught this on VOD. Its a fun, quirky enjoyable movie. The stark shifts from comedy to serious aciton thriller dont quite mesh well though. Also, I'm sorry, I love Brad Pitt but he was miscast in this. This role was not meant for him. He tried to make it work but I think this needed someone like a Ryan Reynolds for it to pop. Which... i guess if you've watched the movie may argue was the whole meta point? :funny:

Caught this on Netflix. This was horrible. Brian Tyree should not be doing a British accent. The dialogue tries so hard to be cool but is just eye rolling. Joey King’s character is absolutely annoying. So glad I didn’t pay to see this in theaters.

The movie reminded me of Smokin Aces. It also feels like the Domino stuff in Deadpool 2 across two hours,

Joey King could play Rachel Weisz daughter in something as they look like they could be related

Accents were dodgy but the slang was on point. This is probably the only Hollywood film I've seen with accurate contemporary slang. Most of the time they have any cockney type character saying "cor blimey guv'nor" type lingo.

Ha true that.

I love all the fight scenes they were just so comical in parts like Ladybug vs Wolf that has to be one of the most effed up fatal moves ever lol
