Whats interesting is I wouldn't be surprised one iota if the Republicans ended up keeping most of their seats. Dems really have earned title for PC wimps. Kerry's chances for 2008 are officially dead. Dems more than ever need to come out swinging, but they always seem to shy away. The subject came up about three times this weekend with my unit. That being said the best thing to do is bring the troops home when the mission is complete and when Iraq can police itself. Regardless how you feel about the justifications of the war if we leave before then it's going to send a message to the troops that the blood they shed and the brothers they lost doesnt matter.

No, they don't think Kerry was insulting the troops.

As soldiers, obviously they listen to what the Idiot in Chief has to say. But, they can also see that Bush is spinning the Kerry comment for the midterm election.

Honestly, they think Kerry and Dubya are both tools.

I view it as Iraq's responsibility to be safe, not the U.S.

While initialy, Iraq was responsible for it's own safety, and this point, we have the "China Shop" rule to think about. "You break it, you bought it!" Bush broke it, now the US has to fix it.

Its not a scope, its a CCO (close combat optic) it doesnt zoom in or anything, it just has a red dot to aim with. I still have Ironsights (carrying handle) attached to the side incase my batteries run out. The people who are really high spped have those bad ass eotech holographic sights (and an m4 instead of m16)

I took it as an insult...if it wasnt supposed to be directed to us then he should have very quickly explained himself or apologized.....not apologize or have others explain it away.

Have you seen or read the whole thing in context? He was bashing Bush the whole time. The line they keep playing is the last sentence. He did mess up and leave out the word "us". It should have been you get us stuck in Iraq. And you and I both know, the only jabbing any troop does to another is over which branch is better.

We zero and qualify with both CCO's and Ironsights... and PEQ-2's (infra red lasers, can only be seen with night vision devices)

People argue over which is better, Ironsights or CCO's, I prefer CCO's, its easy to see the red dot at night.

Kerry and Gore need to be BFF's. I don't think it was a botched joke either. People make fun of the president for his mispronunciations yet it is ok for Kerry to do it? I think if I was bashing someone, I would meticulously care for my words and try not to insult anyone else...Kerry didn't do that and should apologize like he did. If it was indeed an accidentally mishap...he wouldn't have thrown it way out of proportion like he and his party did. Of course the Republicans blew it up before you respond to my post...it is election time and both parties are mud throwing. But it is over with and should be forgotten.
