And the president probably doesn't give a **** what people on a superhero board post

Beofre the presidential election Bush bought up several anti-bush websites and sent them to the back of the search results. The internet has become a major player in the outcome of elections, ever since Dean ran for president, and made it a player.

Threads like this are so irritating, but it's sad, really, to see so many VICTIMS of misinformation... :(

I work in state government in Texas (Media Services) and to this day I have a LOT of admiration for this president, mainly because I was fortunate to get to know him here... BEFORE the the liberal media, democrates and hard core, left-wing "nutjobs" started their national SMEAR campaign.

Trust me, it is very hard to get elected to two terms as governor in this state, but Bush did it in a landslide - becoming the first Texas governor elected to consecutive terms. Even the demos here jumped on his coat-tails! He was VERY popular because in REALITY he IS smart, he's also compassionate, fair, diplomatic and honest... he means what he says... and he did a GREAT job.

Mostly he's nothing like the CARICATURE that most of you all have seen or assume because you spend too much time reading lies, spoofs and jokes.... like THIS one for example. How many of you think this is true? http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/hoaxes/presiq.htm

Here are some FACTS: George W. Bush got a BA from YALE and an MBA from HARVARD business school. He was a PILOT in the National Guard... and FYI, they don't give away YALE/HARVARD degrees or give million dollar jets to dummies to fly!!

Compare those credentials to some of his more "famous" detractors:
Alec Baldwin: College drop-out. Left G.Washington U. after a scandal.
Martin Sheen: Flunked exam to enter U of Dayton.
Cher: High School drop-out, 9th grade.
Michael Moore: First year college drop-out
Sean Penn: High School grad.
Jessica Lange: Freshman year college drop-out.
Susan Sarandon: A degree (woo who) in DRAMA.

what's a "democrate"?

but you don't care about what they thinK? they could be thining about how to attack us or how not to, but it's the same to you either way? Is that what you are saying?

Removing governments to defeat them will not do the job. It wont. It will only create more terrorists. they will get angry and fight back. Alquida thought defeating the U.S. would make us stop. but it didn't. they attakced us, and what did we do?

the world does not work that way. when you punch somebody they punch back. punching them does not remove the threat, it only creates one.

Edit...

Right now two people in the middle east are debating politics. One supports terrorism in the U.S. and the other does not. the one who opposes terrorism fears that attacking us will only make us want to cause them even more harm. The one supporting terrorism says "why should I care what Americans think? That is why America needs to be defeated, even if we have to destroy their economy to do it."

Any person or people can think whatever they want. They can wish me dead and fantasize how to bring it about and I still don't care as long as they never actually act on it.

The solution to terrorism is to defeat them as often as possible. If a thousand arise from a single terrorist's death, than those thousand should die. If ten thousand should arise afterwards, then you defeat those ten thousand. If a hundred thousand should arise, then defeat those one hundred thousand. At some point, they'll figure out that that creating terrorists isn't a very good idea and the'll turn inwards and find other ways to advance, even if it means a third or more of the ME might die as a consequence of their beliefs.

I guess all these quotes are "taken out of context" or are result of a "cultural divide".

"And God willing, with the force of God behind it, we shall soon experience a world without the United States and Zionism."

and here we have his actuall quote from his speech at "The world without Zionism" (on a side note, shouldn't the name of the conference be a red flag? ) correctly translated from Persian translators...

"This regime that is occupying Jerusalem must be eliminated from the pages of history."

eliminated from the pages of history? Sounds like mass genocide to me.

also...
"They [Europeans] have invented a myth that Jews were massacred."

"The main solution is for the elimination of the Zionist regime."

I have no doubt that the new wave that has started in dear Palestine and which we witness today all over the Islamic world will soon wipe this scourge of shame from the Islamic world. This can be done.

I warn all the leaders in the Islamic world to beware of this conspiracy. If any of them takes a step towards the recognition of this regime [Israel], then he will burn in the fire of the Islamic umma (nation) and will have eternal shame stamped on his forehead, regardless of whether he did this under pressure by the dominant powers, or lack of understanding or naiveté or selfishness or worldly incentives.

"Very soon, this stain of disgrace will vanish from the center of the Islamic world" has been widely condemned internationally."

Notice this picture at the "conference". Do you see the balls, and how one of them is broked? Does this seem like anyone who wants to enter a peaceful dialouge?

If they are thinking about killing you than you are more likely to be killed then if nobody wanted to kill you.

think about what you just said

At some point, they'll figure out that that creating terrorists isn't a very good idea and the'll turn inwards and find other ways to advance, even if it means a third or more of the ME might die as a consequence of their beliefs.

now if you are unable to realize that your creating more terrorists than what makes you think an even more primitive culture is going to realize that they are also going about things the wrong way? your being a hypocrite, and you fail to realize how the world works. you only need to see the effect the enemy has on yourself to see that you are having the exact same effect on your enemy.

In fact if your post was accurate the war on terror would be over already, wouldn't it? In fact all wars would be over already if the world really worked like that, because that's how it has been done for thousands and thousands of years. But the world doesn't work like that. War causes another war which causes another war which causes another war. The old way obviously isn't working. It's had plenty of time. War doesn't work if it did, we would be done already.

While I agree Bush couldn't beat him, the entire idea is rediculous. Can anyone recall any time 2 world leaders have ever had a televised, public debate?

I think it's a good idea. It shows the rest of the world just what kind of man or woman is in charge of a country. Unfortunately, one involving George W. Bush would only serve to reinforce the world's opinion that our presisent is a veritable idiot.

For that reason alone, I am opposed to it.

its funny how you can hear violence where no violent words were used.

and the first article you linked to? heres how it begins:
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Thursday the solution to the Middle East crisis was to destroy Israel, state-media reported.

In a speech during an emergency meeting of Muslim leaders in Malaysia, Ahmadinejad also called for an immediate cease-fire to end the fighting between Israel and the Iranian-backed group Hezbollah.

"Although the main solution is for the elimination of the Zionist regime, at this stage an immediate cease-fire must be implemented," Ahmadinejad said, according to state-run television in a report posted on its Web site Thursday.

so....he DOES talk about the elimination of the regime- and then IMMEDIATELY follows up by saying: we need a cease-fire.

OMG the guys a bloodthirsty LOON!

to you:
eliminated from the pages of history=mass genocide

to me:
eliminated from the pages of history=removal or dismantling of a violent regime.

and you know why? because i dont think general israeli citizens="members of the zionist regime". do you? really? That'd be like saying that we're both members of the PNAC.

I'm not. are you?

YES he called the israelis bloodthristy savages in that other article.
So call me a naive. or call me a realist, who ISN'T naive, SEES that there is a LOT of bad blood in that region. And sees that like most other world leaders, machismo and chest beating are good for poll numbers in Iran.

hey look!:
"there's a poster in the old west- wanted. dead or alive"
(remember?)

To me actions speak louder than words. i guess to you words are enough to warrant damnation?

but go ahead. keep taking little tiny "signs" and blowing them up into worlds of meaning. you do that. and I'll try to bring them back down to size:o

So if this guy said "I want to kill Isralis and Americans and force their children into slavery" how would you spin that?

Seriously, I hate to use a Fox News cliche here, but you are giving A SWORN ENEMY of the US to much of a pass. You act as though he should be given a noble peace prize.

I really can't think of a response to this because well- it's so silly. It's like arguing about weather or not trees exist to someone who questions reality's own existence.

there you go again.

WHERE would you EVER get the idea that i thought highly of the guy, much less that i was 'acting like the guy deserves a nobel peace prize'?!?

So wait. In your book, does 'not thinking the guy is a rabid animalistic psycho killer'='thinking the guy is ghandhi' ? are you that simplistically bi-polar? i sure hope not.

you remind me of a Billy Joel song sometimes. and that's not good.:down:csad:

as for your first question-I wouldn't spin it at all. YOU are the one doing the spinning- i'm just trying to slow you down before you before you get so dizzy you puke.

I really can't think of a response to this because well- it's so silly. It's like arguing about weather or not trees exist to someone who questions reality's own existence.

yes. yes thats EXACTLY what its like:rolleyes:

No matter who debates with the looney, it would be futile.

You know what's really been angering me lately? I have been babysitting my sister a lot during the last few weeks. She is six years old. she has diabetes. she has to take several insulin injections every day. Every time she's basically injecting herself with a few more hours to live really. If her sugar gets too high or too low she will die. It's a constant struggle to keep her sugar just right, going back and forth from one hour to the next with insulin and juice boxes.
However no matter what you do one day her sugar will inevitably crash, and when that happens you have seconds to give her the emergency glucose shot in her leg. It could happen 5 mintues from now or five years from now. She could faint if it happens which means even when she's older she can never be left alone. Even if she were to survive this, she would be hospitilized for weeks and she would be very sickly. She might have temproary amnesia as well. It's impossible for me not to think about this every time I give her her injections. Imagine giving your 6 year old sister an emergency shot only to have her wake up and not remember you. It's a horrible scenario to have in your mind.

The other day her sugar would not go down. It was 450, then 500, then 559. Shot after shot after shot, and poking her finger every half hour. That gets very scary. It eventually stabilized, but to be on the safe side I had to check her sugar in the middle of the night three times and check her sugar. Normally it's only done once in the middle of the night.

Bush vetoed the embryonic stem cell bill. He vetoed her right to live. He can make all the excuses in the world, but the truth is that he is not protecting my family. He's not looking out for my sister. Bush is a horrible worthless human being. President or not I would never shake his hand, and he would never be welcome in this house. I have no respect for that man. He thinks the drug companies 800 dollars a month they make off my sister is more important than curing the disease. He can go to hell! I hate that man! He should spend a day in my sister's shoes!

Even my other sister gets shafted because she's a lesbian.

i just cried....alot!
