Bustillo and Muary Take on Halloween Sequel

Zombie's remake was better than the boring original. But it was pretty mediocre too.

*ducks*

Eh. Zombie's film didn't touch the original, but at least it was an alright film. It was it's own thing and I'm glad of that. I would have hated for the remake to be a carbon copy of Carpenter's masterpiece.

I'm really excited about this movie. I think Bustillo and Maury willl do a very good job with good old Mike. I mean... Michael Myers is just the greatest killer of all time. Love the guy. And I think it will be better than the remake. And I think it would be an original film.... I don't see them doing a remake of Halloween II. The remake was supposed to reboot the franchise... but what it really did was remake the original while adding/changing some material... I think the follow-up is going to be the real reboot.... a completely original film, maybe paying homage to Halloween II but not remaking it. Basically, I can see Maury and Bustillo doing with this what it looks like Marcus Nispel, Damian Shannon, and Mark Swift are doing with Friday the 13th. And I think Friday the 13th look great!

So, is it going to be a remake of Halloween 2 with Zombie's new "vision"? Or an original "alternative" sequel to Zombie's Halloween? I love Carpenter's Halloween. One of my favorite films. I kind of liked Zombie's Halloween. But it took away the mystery of Myers. IDK. It's a love/hate relationship with that film. But I'm all for this as long as they keep away Busta Rhymes.

There are very few movies that I hated more than Zombies braindead remake.

I wish Bustillo & Maury would do rather something original. Inside was goddamn awesome movie! Wanna more.

And besides Zombie's Halloween sucked ass. Don't wanna see sequels to that.

I think it would be fairly interesting if they go back to Carpenter's original idea for the Halloween franchise, and have a completely original story for each film and release one every year. I mean, I love Michael Myers as much as the next guy, but you can only go so far with him. Case in point: Halloweens 4, 5, 6, H20, and Resurrection.

as much as i love that idea, it's far too late to do that here. Halloween means Michael Myers, for better or worse

IMO, Malcolm McDowell elevated the movie. He was a worthy sucessor to Donald Pleasance.
Yes, I actually liked him better than Donald Pleasance...a lot better actually. He was the only good thing about Rob Zombie's crappy film.

The Halloween remake was something I actually looked forward too and when I saw it I was so disappointed. It was just about excessive gore and using the f-bomb at least 20 times per scene. :o
I thought Malcolm McDowell was good and Michael's mom's storyline was some what interesting...then it went downhill really fast. 3/10 for me.

And in the end he gets shot in the head and his blood and brains splatter all over Laurie's face, how do you make a sequel to that? ...The reason they made a remake was to not make Michael Myers seem like a joke cliche zombie-like 80's slasher killer and now they come up with this, what was the point? :whatever:
