Shouldn't Batman be the villain? I mean, he is the darker superhero.

When I say I like the idea of Superman being the villain, I mean that the rest of the world simply isn't quite sure and is likely siding with Lex's point of view, including Bruce and Dianna. Obviously, throughout the movie, Clark would win them all over and Lex's evilness is exposed to them.

A man of steel sequel doesn't automagically mean Man of Steel 2.

Batman v Superman and Justice League could all theoretically be a Man of Steel sequel. All the events in each happen after the one before it.

I wholeheartedly believe Superman will feature prominently in this film. Since Batman was announced as being part of the film, people immediately jumped on the "this isn't a true MOS sequel" bandwagon, but until I see evidence that Superman's role is being minimized, I refuse to believe that Superman won't feel like the main character, or at least, one of the two main characters.

Really? That was a rumor once? Awesome. He did do some acting back in the day.

But really, Phil should play a new supervillain. He could be called the Invisible Touch. His power would be to turn invisible grab people inappropriately.

I hope Lex and Bruce are the primary antagonists, with ultimately Lex and Bruce having a big falling out and Lex becomes the only antagonist. I think the intellectual/mental challenge of Lex would be enough for both Supes and Bats to handle. I think they could introduce Metallo (sans Kryptonite) so that Supes has something to punch; but he isn't necessary. Lex is all the villain you need.

I want Lex to be a puppeteer/behind the scenes mastermind type of villain. For example, his actions in the film have devastating consequences but he cant be touched because no one has the evidence to prove it despite the fact that batman superman and wonderwoman know it was him who was behind everything. Additionally, his actions in the film are aimed at paving way for an even more sinister plan or greater evil purpose that is explored in future films.

I think this is pretty spot on. Given what we know about the film so far(granted we don't know much). Batman and Superman will fight. Lex will probably manipulate them into fighting somehow and Wonder Woman will act as the mediator that stops the fight. Then Luthor unleashes Metallo as a Plan B. (the WW and Metallo part is my own speculation)

Though, I'd argue that Metallo isn't even necessary if bat-drones are confirmed. I mean, without kryptonite, how could Metallo stand a chance against Supes, Kryptonian atmosphere grenades, perhaps?

I don't know how any bat-villians could organically appear in the film. Perhaps minor appearances from assassin characters like Deathstroke or Deadshot, just to give Bats another challenge after the Supes conflict is resolved.

And the Joker seems like to big a character to be in a plot whose premise is a Batman vs. Superman conflict.

in my heart, i've always felt a true Batman/Superman film would feature Joker/Luthor. It seems right. other villain combinations work, but some variation on a Joker/Luthor team up would be the most satisfying to me

A Lex/Joker story would indeed be awesome. But Batman will probably be too busy trading blows with Superman to deal w/ the Joker, lol.

I hope they figure something out better than metallo. I know he's a well known Superman villian but he's kind of boring. It usually just Metallo beating on Superman until Superman figures out a way to beat him. In this case Batman would probably just remote control his batmobile into him...on second thought that would be cool. But Supes needs a challenge that he can stretch his muscles with. Not Doomsday though. Too early.

Lex/Metallo/Batman

I like the idea of a Metallo/Batman/Lex combo.

Metallo frames Supes, than Batman goes after Superman while secretly investigating Lex's business connections.

If Metallo instigates a conflict with Superman and Batman, Batman can be the primary villain until he realizes the errors of his ways. Then they both team up to bring down Metallo and Luthor (though I want Luthor to escape with the help of a mysterious villain who will be in the JL movie)

Think Woody in Toy Story..wanting to be Andy's Number one Toy at all costs..serving as a mostly antagonistic character, until he realizes that he needs to help Buzz out. Similarly, Batman would need to help Superman defeat his foe strategically, and Superman would serve to both inspire and help out Batman.
