Other than the bolded one, yes it's going to be a great year. :)

This is the one I'm most looking forward to actually. If only for Giamatti as The Rhino.
Different strokes etc...:woot:

I'd love to see him in a non-Morgan Freeman role. Something wicked.

Something like what we've seen of him in Oblivion might be nice. That looks like a non traditional role for him. I'd be interested in seeing him as the villain. Also, seeing as each PG-13 movie is allowed one F-Bomb, Morgan Freeman should be allowed to do it. In his episode of Inside the Actors Studio he mentions it's his favourite word.

I didn't realize Freeman was in Oblivion. He's probably out of Interstellar, then.

Why's that? Because they're both sci fi? They're almost definitely very different stories, so why not?

Just a hunch, that's all. Nolan probably wants to separate Interstellar from any sci-fi preceding it, so having familiar actors from other recent sci-fi films might give people impressions that Nolan's film isn't as original. Yes, we all know the actor shouldn't matter and it's the script that will, but I'm talking about how general, casual, and potentially dumb filmgoers would perceive that kind of news. Not saying how it should be, just accepting that's how it is.

"Morgan Freeman in sci-fi again!? Nolan is copying Tom Crooze now!!"

Skip to the minute mark:

What say we? Nothing or something?

I think he wanted to get away from the interviewer. :P

Something. I know Michael Caine blabbed about Chris already telling him that he's in for Interstellar. It's possible he told Freeman too but he's just far more subtle about it.

From EMPIRE around the exact same time:
Q: How do you feel about Chris now ending the series?

A:He’s got to go on, he’s got some other idea, and I’m in it! I’ve been in everything he’s done since he’s been in Hollywood. We’re each others’ good luck charms. I always say to him, “I’m not your good luck charm, you are mine!” (laughs)

Do you think we're getting Bond 24 in 2014?

You know who needs to be in a Nolan film? Freaking Jeff Goldblum. The man is a genius and truly an underutilized actor.

Thanks, craig. Now if it doesn't happen I'm boycotting Interstellar.

Thanks for ruining everything for me since until this happens all else pales in comparison. ;)

Off topic: I must say, the reason why Ian Malcolm didn't work as the leading character in 'The Lost World' was simply because he simply lost his neurotic personality. Those weird quirks, like the stuttering and odd laughs, intercut with an understated intellect and hyper-intuitive awareness, was replaced by 'leading man' cliches.

I still loved it (the performances not necessarily the movie) due to Goldblum but you're totally right. Poor Jeff had to work with a really watered down part in JP2 unfortunately. He did the best he could.

Someone like Nolan I feel would actually give Goldblum that creative space where he would bring all those things back without ever sacrificing the tone of the film. I just feel the both of them would work well.

Gah, why must I put these ideas in my head. I'm only going to be disappointed when it doesn't happen. :(

The most Malcolm-like moment in TLW was when he was yawing, in his 1st appearance in that movie.
