CAH's "Dino-Man"

This is something I've been developing for quite some time, and I HOPE to turn it into a graphic novel someday...and POSSIBLY, but PROBABLY NOT, a feature film.

DINO-MAN PT. 1 (set in present time)Rex Roberts is a security guard at the local McNeal Laboritories. He is married to his beloved Ruby, and they enjoy life with their son Raymond. The head doctor at the laboratory, Dr. Fisher McNeal, is planning an 'enhanced human' formula juice to go back in time with his newly amazingly developed time machine and battle the greatest beast that humans never knew...the dinosaurs. He picks Rex to go with him to protect himself, and he finds it funny they they'll be dealing with more "Rexes".

The time machine is a success, and they are transported back to the prehistoric age, where from the very beginning all that is is visble is rocks and dinosaurs. They bring cameras, and take plenty of photos for the present-time people to see, and then Dr. McNeal injects himself with the formula, and immediately he becomes stronger. A dinosaur spots both of the humans, and rampages after them for his 'fresh meat'. The dino leaps towards Dr. McNeal, and bites right into his arm, but nothing happens. The dinosaur's teeth do not even pierce the doctor's skin, as the formmula protects him. Rex however, is not so safe. The security officer begins to run like the wind after emptying his bullets upon the dino, and is saved by the doctor, who just merely punches the dinosaur and splits him in two. McNeal then grabs something that hits his foot, a dinosaur egg. He figures that maybe he can study it and learn some new dino facts, so now, with the photos and the egg, the two return to the present time. The doctor soon begins to work on a antiodte for the breakoff of the formula he injected himself with earlier, as it's no longer needed.

Rex is walking the halls late one night the next week, when he hears a noise coming from a room in the far back of the laboratory. He checks, and hesees that the dinosaur egg is beginnig to crack open, and then, a little dino pops right up. Rex is stunned at first, but then realizes he must do something. He goes over to the cracked egg, and sees the little dino fall into the 'enhanced human' formula that McNeal was supposed to destroy a week ago. He goes to get it out, and it bites him, making him bleed quite a bit. He falls over in pain yelling, but then stops to see that the wound has healed already, and the blood is sucked back into his body. He is in awe of what just happened, but passes out anyways.

The next day he finds himself at his home in bed, and his wife is not on the other side of the bed. He finds this strange as she does not even work today, and gets up. He then holds his head, and giant claws begin to grow out ofhis fingernails as his skin turns a very dark and scaly green, and he freaks out. His wife then walks in and he roars at her as his mouth turns into a T-Rex's mouth, AND THEN....he wakes up....for real. It was all a dream. He walks into the kitchen now, and his wife is making breakfast. (his son is at school) Everything seems fine, and he then gets dressed and leaves for the laboratory. When he arrives, he notices that Dr. McNeal is stumbling into his office, so he goes in to ask about it.

The doctor explains that it's just a cramp, and he'll be fine. McNeal says to leave him alone for awhile, and that he'll talk to him soon. Rex leaves McNeal's office, and goes into the same room he was bitten in. He remembers nothing, only that he was recently there. He leaves that room, and in the hall he looks at his hand, which has a slightly dark blue/green tint to it. He sighs and walks on.

Later that night, Rex is once again guarding the laboratory. He walks outside for a cigarette break, and when he goes to light the cigarette, he notices that his hand is now completely green with scales! He falls down, and begins to scream just a bit with a painful "aah!" He looks once again at his hand and his fingernails have grown into claws about the size of his fingers, and he flips over then and we see his clothes begin to tear just a bit. He now is screaming very hard, and his hair begins to disappear, as his small white teeth grow into giant yellow fangs, and his hands/arms grow to the size of the laboratory doors! His feet and legs begin to grow as well, and his toenails become even longer than his claws. His little face pops out of it's facial structure into the shape of a t-rex's face, and with a final giant loud roar, Rex Roberts' transformation into the Dinosaur is complete. He jumps down the road roaring still, and his loud roar fades into the silence of the night in the distance.

The Dinosaur is now deep into the heart of the city, and is wrecking as many things as possible. He's squashing buildings and destroying anything in his way, when just then he hears and recognizes the voice of McNeal behind him. He turns to see a giant sized McNeal right behind him, as it seems the formula had an effect on him too. He is disguised though, wearing a tobaggen as a mask and dressed in all black. "It seems we've grown Roberts...," McNeal exclaims. The Dinosaur does not answer, as if he can't. Giant McNeal, calling himself the Big Fisher, begins to try and calm The Dinosaur. But it does not work at all. The Dinosaur runs towards McNeal, with McNeal blocking and avoiding every attack. Their first battle begins. The Dinosaur is quick and strong, as is McNeal (aka The Big Fisher). They begin to actually make each othef bleed, but they both heal very quickly. Finally, the Dinosaur lets out a giant roar and runs. McNeal then begins to shrink back to his normal size. Next, we see the Dinosaur running along the highway, where he begins to shrink and slow as well, eventually turning completely back into a naked Rex Roberts.

The next morning, Rex awakens in the same spot he fell and changed back. He is still naked and sees that the sun is bright and right in his face. He looks immediately at his hands, and there is nothing wrong with them. He sighs of relief, and falls back to sleep. Later McNeal is back at his office, and he is looking at his hand as well. He picks up a shot containing what is guessed as the "enhanced human" formula and injects it into his system. He then murmurs "He'll be back...soon enough." to himself, and he leaves the room.

I don't like the motivation for the time travelling.

I have to agree with you. I don't like it either.

But DINOMAN is a work in progress...it was originally going to be about a man who just transformed into a dinosaur after a lab accident, but now he is the villain and the doctor (McNeal) is the hero. I like that angle myself...

I will have Part 2 up probably tomorrow if I don't forget...

DINOMAN Part 2


Later in that same day, Rex awakens once again to see a boy standing over him laughing. He looks confused at first, but then remembers that he is still naked. He covers himself as best he can and runs off into the forest screaming.

McNeal is back in his office trying to think of why Rex would be so violent in his dino form. He definetly had changed a very great deal, and it was clear that he may have to get rid of the man known as Rex Roberts once and for all. He didn't want to, but he looked at his hand, which he could see was now bubbling/popping out of its structure just a bit and his index finger was now extending. He just silently whispered "Oh great!" to himself and ran out of the room.

Rex runs through the forest still screaming and he stops at the creek to get a drink of water. He throws the water in his face, and looks at his hand in a very scared way, and sees that it is indeed now turning green again. He screams and jumps into the water, and as it bubbles ferociously Rex's hand (now changed into his dino hand) emerges from the water.

McNeal is running through the hallways, and his hand is now much larger than before. He grunts and yells as it continues to hurt him, and finally he reaches the outside. He falls right on the road, and his transformation continues. His back towers up, and his legs grow to the size of King Kong. He screams in pain, and then his face pops out of its structure just as big as it should be. The transformation is over, and he runs off into the distance.

Dinoman is now roaming the forest, and he is eating anything in his path. He stomps back onto the highway, tearing cars apart and eating the humans inside. He throws some cars and trucks aside like they're hairs, and he launches a semi across half of the city. He gives a final roar, and then McNeal /The Big Fisher shows up. "Stop Rex! Stop!," yells the doctor. "I might be able to help you...please stop," The Dinosaur roars, and once again attacks The Big Fisher. Their battle this time is much longer this time, as they begin to really hurt each other. McNeal yells to looking people to get away and find safety, and he smacks Dino Man around quite a bit. Then, Rex/Dino Man bites right into McNeal's arm, taking it off. McNeal doesn't do or say anything, and as he thought, his arm just reappears. He then realizes that to stop the Dino Man, he will have to kill him. They're both invincible, so only death will work.

McNeal runs off in the direction he came, and the Dinosaur roars and runs off in the other direction. Back at his office, a shrunken McNeal bursts through the laboratory doors. He searches everywhere, and finally finds what he is looking for...Toxic Acid. He takes 10 bottles of it out of the cabinet, and sets it on the table. He grabs a dart gun, loads it with needles full of the acid, and then puts on his 'costume'. He wears a pair of protective goggles, and he straps on 2 surgery scrubs. He arms himself with little knives, and he heads out the door. He grunts when outside, and he is immediately enlarged to his Big Fisher form again. He runs off again.

The Dinoman it seems has grown larger now, and has trashed half of the city. He is stunned at the site of The Big Fisher in all of his 'costumed' glory. He roars as he attacks. McNeal launches the acid onto Dinoman but it does not seem to affect him much at all. He stabs the Dinosaur with all the knives he has, and the Dinoman blocks them. They then fistfight a bit, and kick each other as hard as possible. The Big Fisher finally grabs Dino Man by the neck, and begins to choke him. Rex's wife shows up, and the Dinosaur sees her. He begins to shrink. A crowd of police and citizens has now grown, and finally Rex has tuned human again. He runs into the arms of his wife.

The Big Fisher shrinks too into McNeal again, and runs over to Rex. He tells him he is sorry, but it had to be done. The blood flows down Rex's arm as he tells his wife he has to kill himself, and he gets a hidden gun out of the car she came in. She cries and says no, and McNeal grabs hold of her. Rex points the gun to his head, and with a final shot he is gone.
