Batman:The Caped Crusaider
Rough outline on my story I am working on for my animation project. Wanted to get some input and see what people thought. I am using story arcs from Year one, The Killing Joke, and other comics here and there. There are grammar issues because I do not have spell check at work so just take it on the story no the way it was put together.
The story starts out with Bruce Wayne coming back to Gotham after 12 years away. His plane arrives at the Gotham airport where Alfred picks him up and catches up with on his current events. The new mayor Hamilton Hill was elected from a large contribution to ex crime boss Rupert Thorne and Gotham is worse than ever with the streets being over run by criminals like the falconnis and Rupert Thorne.
The story then cuts to Jim being transfered back to Gotham after being in Chicago for a good amount of time with his wife Barbara. They settle into Gotham as Jim goes to the GCPD to meet the new commisoner and other cops like Flass. Gordon gets a uneasy feeling from everyone in the GCPD and gets a feeling of a threat from everyone around him.
Bruce goes out to dinner where he runs into Mayor Hill and Rupert Thorne having dinner at a fine resteraunt as Hill invited Wayne over they have a small chat and pass fake jokes along one another until Rupert Thorne makes things tense as he asks Bruce why he is back. Bruce smiles and tells him he is Gothams favorite son and he will make sure Gotham becomes the city his parents set out to make it. Rupert pissed looks away as Bruce bids the Mayor farewell and continues on to his table.
In the gotham narrows there is a small apartment as a tall pale man walks in. He sits at the kitchen table as his wife brings him a plate. They get into a discussion as he admits that he regrets quitting his job at the axis chemical plant to try to be a comedian and no one thinks he is funny. His wife diasgrees and says she thinks he is funny as he hugs her he tells her he has to do something she is pregnant and he can barley pay the bills.
bruce Sits in his study going over newspaper articles reading about the crime boss families being released from black gate, a article about a new doctor hugo strange taking over arkham, and then a newspaper article about his parents being killed. He sits for a second reading the article as there is a sudden tapping at the window as he gets up and sees the storm approaching outside as he sits back down. There is another tap at the window but Bruce ignores it this time. Suddenly the window breaks as a large bat flys in landing on the desk on its back it flaps its wings knocking over the tea next to the papers. As the bat flys out Bruce picks up the paper of his parents article and the stained paper has the outline of a bat.
Jim is cornered in the GCPD building by flass and other cops demandin that he takes a bribe that they are offering him. Jim denies to take the bribe and the cops get angry and tell him he is going to regret it. As he goes back to his desk a folder is on his desk about a robbery with a man wearing a red hood.
The tall pale man walks into his apartment looking around to make sure his wife is not around as he goes into his closet to get some money and above hidden you can see the red hood up above as he shoves it into the back of the closet as his wife walks in the tall pale man hands her the money and tells her that its the money for rent. She asks him how he got it and he tells her not to worry about it as he hugs her.
Gordon is walking home from the store a brown bag in his hand as he heads home. When he is heading home he is attacked by a group of men wearing masks as they kick and stomp him Gordon is left helpless. Suddenly another man in a ski mask shows up but starts attacking the attackers beating them up pretty easily with no effor until a one of the men with a knife stabs him in the arm. The masked vigilante throws the man on the ground breaking his arm. Gordon shuffles for his glasses but before he can put them on to see what happened the masked vigilante gets away.
Back at the wayne mansion Bruce starts to stitch himself up from the knife wound as Alfred walks in and tells Bruce that he is clearly going to need to do more than dress in sky masks and some tight sweat pants. Bruce agrees and decides that he needs to go and use wayne enterprises as a front and use their technology to help him become the figure he is tyring to be against the criminals and the crooked in gotham.
At Mayor Hills office Selina Kyle his secretary is going over papers as Rupert Thorne walks in. She greets mr Thorne as he walks into the office of Hill as they talk to one another. Thorne tells him he is not happy about the progression of Gotham and the heat of the GCPD breathing down his neck. Hill tells him its because of the new cop from Chicago is a honest cop and he is trying to do the right thing. Thorne tells him something has to be done about it.
Selina Kyle leaves the office as she is walking home she turns down a dark corner when a man bearing a knife approaches her. The man covered in scars resembling roman numerals she tries to run from him but he pins her down. The man starts to cut her with the knife lightly when suddenly a bat figure drops down grabbing the man and apprehending him. The man scared out of his mind is hung upside down as selina kyle is in shock as the batman dissapears into the shadows. A cop car shows up as Gordon gets out with Flass as they approach the scene. Flass tell Gordon it is Zsaz and that he escaped Arkham a week ago as Zsaz keeps muttering about a giant bat.
Back at the GCPD Gordon goes over 2 files on his desk now one of the red hood and one of the batman and he states he can not have 2 costumed figures running around Gotham, Gotham is already crazy enough. Commisoner Loeb calls him in as they have a conversation about the two figures and Gordon putting together a special unit to bring both of them and his partner would be Flass.
At the Gotham bank the day continues on people reading papers about the giant bat in the city and sighting of the giant bat. Suddenly the red hooded figure comes in with a gun robbing the bank. He is clumsy about it and everyone is confused as he keeps apologizing to everyone for doing what he is doing. He runs out of the bank with the money in hand as everyone is confused to as what just happened.
Bruce meets with Lucius fox at Wayne enterprises as we go into a scene with bruce developing his gadgets and creating a batsuite that will fit after expirimenting with some suites he develops a clothed balistic suite looking like a suite from arkham asylum. We get to see bruces intelligant side building up the batcave along with the devices for batman to use.
At a local bar the tall pale man is sitting have a few drinks alone after a failed comic gig as two men approach him and sit down next to him. They introduce themselves and tell him they need help into Axis chemicals and he asks why he would help. they show him pictures of him with the red hood outfit as they black mail him and tell him that if he does not help they will turn the pictures into the GCPD. He agress to help they set up a time later on the week to meet at axis chemicals to break in.
Alfred walks into the Bruces room as he wakes him up in the late afternoon. he tells him that he is going to need to develop some kind of a social life coming back with no social life and the batman making headlines people are going to start questioning him and asking what he is doing. Bruce tells him that he does have a point as they set up a party for saturday a welcome home party so to speak of.
In the car the two men talk to the tall pale man and tell him to be there at 9 or the pictures go to gcpd. They drop him off a few blocks away from his house as the tall pale man walks torwards his house. As he gets close he sees a bunch of cop cars and he thinks that they have found out about him being the red hood he hides for a second until he sees a body bag being carried out as he rushes torwards the house. The cop stops him and he tells him his wife died in a household accident. The tall pale man falls to his knees devestated as he walks away to his car in the back seat the red hood and cape.
Gordon sits at his desk reading over papers as Barbara calls him and they have a short conversation when a call comes in for gordon as the red hooded figure has been spotted at axis chemicals. Gordon grabs his jacket and heads out the door.
At axis chemicals gun shots are going off as the 3 of them are trapped the two men start to blame the tall pale man for being stuck. The two men decide they need cover and to run away as they push him out into gun fire as he ducks and hides the guard shoots off more rounds killing both of the men. The red hood gets up running away but gets to a dead end as he turns around he sees the batman. The red hood asks him who he is as batman gives him a smart remark asking him the same thing. The red hood tells him its not his fault that he lost his love and that he had to do this he did not want to be remembered for being a thief. He tells batman that she was the only one that laughed at him as he tells batman a joke batman smirks. Batman tries to convince him to turn himself in and as he is about to gun fire rings out clipping the red hood as he stumbles over the edge into a chemical vat. Gordon yells at his unit to sieze fire. As they stop firing Flass tells batman to come in quietly. Batman stares at them and he shoots a batarang torwards a release letting out the vat into the waste into the river as batman dissapears.
Back at the wayne mansion bruce with just his cowel off tells Alfred he feels guilty for letting that happen and promises to never kill a criminal no matter what that would be his promise to Gotham. We cut to the river banks as we see the red cape on the river banks and farther down a shadowy figure falls to his knees and takes off the red hood and splashes river water in his face. The camera can only see the shadow until the water comes into focus we see his face is pale white, his lips bright red and highlights of green are in his hair as he just starts laughing hysterically.

I am sorry for the grammar issues I do not have spell check on my computer at work. I just wanted to see what people thought Ive started on the character sketches and the small nods in it will move on to other stories that will go into developement. There are alot more details this is just a rough outline and I have the scropt done now so if anyone wants to read it I would love someone to check it out
