Call it stunt-casting but wouldn't Rinko Kikuchi be a good Mariko Yashida?

She's the first Japanese actress to be nominated for an Oscar in 50 years (for Babel) and that at minimum gives the project a little bump in credibility, with a good chance of it also being a great bet for a better movie over all.

I don't think Mariko would be in it, Mainly because if she was...it would screw the whole history. Logan met Mariko after the x-men...not before...that was Silver Fox

Yeah and we've already had the "Wolverine mercy killing the woman he loves" in X3 sadly.

Great casting - she looks perfect for the role. But I have to agree with the above posters in that Mariko shouldn't be in the movie.

I´d love to see Mariko´s story on the screen and the actress looks perfect...but sadly I have to agree with the posters above, too.
Maybe for "Wolverine 2", who knows?
