Cameron Introduces JESUS. No, really...

Haha, Won '08, you were probably a PA during the documentary and fetched JC a cup of coffee and drooled over the experience ever since.

Its okay, I'm sure there were plenty of people who were buried in coffins in Year 01...they probably just popped out of nowhere.

People back then were buried in shrouds. Go to a history class.

JC might as well do a documentary on finding the belly fat of Buddha in a jar.

Excuse me? I used to teach a history class for your information and I was heavily into theology, etymology and all of it's branches. You're sitting there with a crucifix up your ass because someone wants to see James Cameron disprove Christianity's "greatest" moment? Well excuse me kid.

By the way. People in the times of BC and just AC were wrapped in Shrouds, encased in stone or wooden "coffi" or mock coffins and then Entombed or Buried.

I suggest you go back to grade school and learn a little something about ritualistic and multiculturalism based burials.

Don't bring a knife to a gun fight....or in this case...Your brain to my knowledge.

Well I guess we'll see how the wooden coffins and bones stood up to the test of time. I'm sure he has that well thought out (and who entrusted him with the bones for publicity in the first place).

You dont preserve the bones of one of the world's greatest religious icons for thousands of years and turn it over to a film director to show off for promotion of his next film. Its rediculous.

there you go

Like I said, I never heard.

Never said it hasn't happened.

Either way, Jesus' existence- as I said, is a historical fact.

Now as to the things the bible claims he did, that's still under question, and I have trouble believing the bible as well.

When I was younger, I always thought what was so special about the name "jesus" back in the first century.

It's like in the game Psychonauts. Raz beats a giant lungfish, and he asks for her name.

The lungfish answers "LLLLLIIIIIINNNNNDDDDDAAAAA"

well, back then, If I remember correctly from my annoying bible study in middle school, Jesus was actually a common name during that time period...

No one has ever said anything about -remains-. But we will see what he has to offer.

And if he led the archaeological group and funded the people that made the discovery then he legally owns the remains until sold to a museum or something of the like.

Nothing Ridiculous about it.

So if what's claimed to have happened in the bible took place today, then jesus could be named "steve" or "john"

I've never heard athiests deny Jesus' existence, just God's.

Personally, I believe in God, but I think organized denominations are just another reason for us all to kill each other [a.k.a. being Agnostic]. I'm interested to see what goes on in this movie.

Besides, Jesus' life is even a historical fact... I'm pretty sure it's God that all these people question, not Jesus.
It's not all atheists. Just stupid ones. But I most certainly have heard people say Jesus (as a person) did not exist.

Nothing Ridiculous about it.

Oh sorry my mistake.

well, I'll definitely watch it... personally, though, I don't think he has a chance in Hell finding anything...

The whole DNA thing is quite confusing to me. If he has nothing to compare it to, what can he really prove.

good point... also, the body of Jesus was just a shell. there was nothing special about the body of Christ. He was just as mortal as the rest of us...

Exactly.

All Science has really disproved so far to my knowledge is creationism, and yet evolution doesn't disprove in God in my eyes or most people's eyes.

I do find it interesting that some religions, such as Catholics, are applying scientific logic to religious stories, such as the true story behind The Red Sea Crossing is that God let Moses and The Jews cross at low tide and the Egyptians cross at high tide.

Blind Faith is as stupid as blind ignorance.

:woot: The miracle of the tides

Hey, that was created to show the world the exact magnitude and seriousness of this event.

Now stop taking pictures, the flashbulbs are upsetting Jesus.

First off, were people even buried in coffins back then? Secondly, well...everything else that's completely idiotic about this.

Yes they were. and whats idiotic about this exactly?

The fact that what he's doing is so out of the ordinary and not worth it. Nothing will come of this. As I've said, we probably will never find out if Jesus really rose from the dead or if he is The Son Of A God and all of that. Cameron has very little proof backing him, it seems. As several people have stated, what good will DNA if he has nothing to compare it to.

Of course, all you Cameron kiss-asses and whatnot will continue to support this, but I choose to not to. Maybe if this was a trained scientist and not a film director, I'd give it a chance.

I like a couple of Cameron's films (True Lies and The Abyss)

I knew Jesus was the terminator. It's all starting to make sense now, christianity is skynet.  :o
