i like the design, but i hope they're better proportioned. i know they're aliens and all, but that Na'vi chick looks like she's 9 ft tall.

I believe they're supposed to be of that size (if not more).

Good find... but I don't like it. Too human-looking imho... she even seems to have human muscle-structure. Me no likey. I'm sure it will make for some keenly awesome animation, seeing that in motion seems as thought it would be almost ethereal in a way, but when you have the world's CGI in your hand, I think you'd go with something that can't be duplicated with a halloween costume.

Again, decent, but it being less human could have added something. At least reverse jointed legs or something... is that a nose? Can we get some neck-breathing or SOMEthing... please?

Update (Nov 27):

There is some confusion over the image that Fox requested that I remove and the creature image that remains on this blog. The email from Fox only linked to ONE image and that was of the much higher resolution and quality photo. I therefore removed that one. The remaining image is of much lower quality and probably not a reflection of any one character (as the removed one may be). That lower quality image remains until if and when Fox asks for its demise as well.

Welllllll now. It was apparently a very REAL image of what the creatures look like in Avatar. Fox has requested that I immediately remove the image and I am complying with their wish.

I cannot provide any further links to this image, and cannot discuss the content of it any further. For all those that have asked for this info - my hands are tied!

It doesn't reminded me in the least bit of Angelina Jolie in Beowulf

one reason being maybe cause its a cat

Also its clearly not what will be in the movie and just like an animated art pic of it and not what will actually be in the flick

sounds to me like his trying to make it as in depth and background content-laden as star wars.

not much of a fan of Cameron but i do believe theres a serious shortage of cinema with that much devotion to background. so im all for it.
