The Dark Knight Can Dark Knight be viewed as a standalone movie?

I feel more sympathetic to Rachel with Maggie playing her.

I beg to differ. Planks of wood have many layers and different dimensions :hyper:

Yes but even planks of wood have different types of qualities that make them more valuable than the other. I'm sure something made of Mahogany has better attributes than something made of Balsa wood.

I like it :D

I was only being daft anyway, finding a suitable way to call Holmes wooden :hehe:

I think for the most part it will work as a stand alone film. The only thing those who haven't seen BB might not understand are the parts concerning Scarecrow and fear toxin, the penthouse/garage instead of Wayne Manor, and possibly the Bruce/Rachel relationship.

This is a good question and it's been on my mind recently.

It's been a bit of work for me to convince my girlfriend to come with me for TDK when it opens (She's not into Batman at all). I doubt she'd agree to see BB again just before, even though I think that's best.

So in case she doesn't agree to watch BB, do you think she'll be able to appreciate TDK as it is? Both seem to be different in tone and scope and I'm also afraid that if she ends up not liking BB, she might think TDK is exactly the same and not come.

Thoughts?

Or if she ends up actually digging The Dark Knight, she'll then want to see Batman Begins.

Show her a few Joker clips and she'll know she will enjoy it.

That's the thing - she's not into all that. But I'm sure when she sees the film as a whole she'll get it. I think she might find BB boring though.

^ like that big of information is going to impact anyone's ability to enjoy the movie. The only people that will really even care are fans and they're well aware of why he's operating out of the garage.
