If the answer is yes, then here goes!

I normally am not a big fan of fan-fics, but my mind is just constantly on, so I gotta do something.

I just started this today, while I was sitting bored in one of my classes. It's only one chapter, and I don't even know if I'll have the time and patience to finish this off. But I wanted to post what I have so far. The total idea that I have is in a direction that not many people have suggested for an X-Men 4, but I think it's a very logical direction to take. Hope you all think the same.

It's not in script form, it's in narrative form. It's a movie-verse based fan-fic that'd be "my version" of X-Men 4. So here we go:

Fan Fiction by Allen Murphy (Nell2ThaIzzay)
Chapter 1
"Freeze, mutant!"

The call came from a police officer as he ran through the crowded New York street. Car horns blared in response to the officer as he darted in front of them, impeding their path. It was rush hour, in busy downtown Manhattan, and the commuters didn’t appreciate the shaved headed officer adding another obstacle to their journey.

Just ahead of the officer, a tall man pushed his way through the mass of people on the sidewalk. Anyone who turned to catch a glimpse of the tall, dark haired man, only saw a long, dark, wavy trench coat that disappeared in the sea of humanity.

The imposing police officer continued to shove through civilians. He finally caught a glance of the brown trench coat as it trailed off into a side alley.
The officer approached the alley, and made his way in. The man in the trench coat stood at the end of the alley way, his back towards the officer.

"Don’t move!" the officer barked, in a commanding voice. "You’re under arrest!"

"How cliche`, mon ami." the man in the trench coat casually replied.
The officer slowly inched his way towards the man. As he made his way closer, the criminal reached into his trench coat.

"Keep your hands where I can see them!" the officer shouted, reaching for his gun.

The criminal pulled a cigarette out of his coat. He put it to his lips, lit the cigarette, and took a drag.

"No need t’be so jumpy, Monsieur Cop. I’m not gon’ bite."

Leaving the cigarette on his lips, the criminal let his arms drop to his sides.
"This isn’t a game, thief." the officer barked back.

"Coulda fooled me, mon ami." A playing card dropped out of each of the man’s coat pockets, one into each hand.

"Mutant, I’m warning you! I will shoot!"

The cards in the criminal’s hands began to glow a bright orange. The alleyway in the back where the criminal stood began to light up from the illumination of the playing cards. Before the officer could respond, the criminal, in one swift motion, turned towards the officer, and flung both cards in his direction. The officer ducked down as the cards struck a building on the side of the alley. Bricks and chunks of the building were propelled by the explosion to the ground below, in a large pile separating the 2 men.

"Wrong move!" the officer barked.

He stood up, his hands and forearms glowing the same orange color as the criminal’s cards did just seconds before. He held his arms out in front of him, and beams of orange energy came erupting out of both arms, demolishing the pile of debris in front of him, sending chunks of rock and brick flying in all directions. The debris caught the criminal off guard, one chunk of brick shrapnel striking the criminal in the head, knocking him to the ground. Lowering his arms, still glowing with energy, the police officer approached the knocked down criminal.

"You think you’re special, mutant? You’re a petty thief. And your powers don’t intimidate me."

The officer reached down for his handcuffs. After grabbing them, he slapped them onto the criminal’s wrists. The criminal was too weak from the blow to the head to try to fight back.

"You’re coming with me." the officer stated, as he lifted the criminal to his feet.

"Good play, officer..." replied the criminal, as he glanced at the officer’s badge and name tag. "...Officer Bishop. None too many slick enough to get Gambit."

"Enough talkin’!"

Bishop got behind Gambit, and directed him out of the alleyway, back onto the busy Manhattan street. Leading the criminal to the squad car, Bishop was ready to take the criminal in to be booked.

Well then, here's more.

In script form!

(I re-wrote scene 1 in script form, so here is the re-write of what's been posted, as well as scene 2, to be posted right after)
 
Act I, Scene I
Scene: Daytime (approx. 5PM), Downtown Manhattan, New York, Sunny day.

A police officer runs out into the middle of the street, chasing someone. The officer’s target is lost in the mass of civilians walking through the city. Drivers honk their horns at the officer as he darts into the middle of the road.

Police Officer: "Freeze, mutant!"

The police officer reaches the sidewalk, and begins pushing his way through civilians. The officer is in good physical shape, and is able to force his way through the crowd. He’s able to see the man he is pursuing; a tall man with dark brown hair, wearing a brown trench coat. The man in the trench coat disappears once more into the crowd of civilians, and out of site of the police officer. He police officer continues to pursue his target.

Police Officer: "Out of my way! This is police business!"

The police officer continues forcing his way through the crowd of civilians. He again catches site of his target, watching him dart off into an alleyway. The police officer makes his way to the alleyway, where his target is standing at the end, facing a large wall.

Police Officer: "Don’t move! You’re under arrest!"

Criminal: "How cliche`, mon ami."

The police officer slowly approaches the criminal. The criminal reaches into his trench coat. As he does, the officer stops, and reaches down towards his holstered gun.

Police Officer: "Keep your hands where I can see them!"
The criminal takes his hand out of his trench coat, pulling a cigarette out and putting it to his lips. The cigarette lights, and the man takes a drag off of it, although there was no lighter to light the match.

Criminal: "No need t’be so jumpy, Monsieur Cop. I’m not gon’ bite."

The criminal drops his arms to his sides, while leaving the cigarette on his lips.

Police Officer: "This isn’t a game, thief!"

Criminal: "Coulda’ fooled me."

From each of the man’s trench coat arm sleeves drops a playing card, into each hand.

Police Officer: "Mutant, I’m warning you! I will shoot!"

The playing cards in the criminal’s hands begin to glow a bright orange color. The glow is so bright, it illuminates the concrete beneath where the criminal stands, as well as the lower walls surrounding the criminal. In one fluent motion, the criminal turns around and throws both cards in the officer’s direction. The officer ducks down, and the cards slam into the wall to the right of the police officer. The impact causes a small explosion, that sends rubble and debris all over the alleyway. A large pile of debris and rubble forms between the two men, separating them.

Police Officer: "Wrong move!"

The officer quickly gets to his feet, and holds both of his arms straight out in front of him. An orange beam of energy, the same color as the glow of the criminal’s playing cards, shoots out of each arm. The beams slam into the pile of debris, sending debris flying through the alley way. A chunk of this debris strikes the criminal in the head, knocking him to the floor. He begins bleeding, but the blow was not enough to render him unconscious.

Police Officer: ""You think you’re special, mutant? You’re a petty thief. And your powers don’t intimidate me."

The police officer makes his way towards the criminal, who is too weak from the blow to the head to fight back. The officer pulls out his handcuffs and slaps them on the wrists of the criminal, and lifts him to his feet.

Police Officer: "Come on! You’re coming with me."

Criminal: "Good play, officer..." Criminal glances at the police officer’s badge and name tag. "...Officer Bishop. None too many slick enough to get Gambit."

Police Officer (Bishop): "Enough talkin’!"

Bishop directs Gambit out of the alleyway, and back onto the busy street of downtown Manhattan. Bishop takes Gambit to his squad car, and puts him in the back seat. After Bishop gets into the driver’s seat, the squad car takes off.

End Scene
 
Act I, Scene II
Scene: Night time (approx. 9PM), Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, Exterior.

Full moon illuminates night sky.

Rogue (Marie) is seen sitting down next to the fountain. She is showing a look of depression.

Iceman - V/O: "Marie."

Enter Iceman (Bobby Drake). He approaches Rogue and sits down next to her.

Iceman: "Marie, why didn’t you meet up with us? Pete and Kitty were wondering where you were."

Rogue: "Why? So they can keep getting a laugh out of me?"

Iceman: "No, because we were all supposed to hang out tonight, remember?"

Rogue: "Bobby..."

Iceman: "Marie, just because you’re not one of us anymore..."

Rogue: "Not ‘one of us’? That’s exactly the problem, Bobby! Ever since I got cured, it’s been ‘us’, and then there’s been ‘me’."

Iceman: "That’s not true. Kitty and Pete love having you around, Marie. Just because you’re not a mutant anymore doesn’t mean you’re not part of the family."

Rogue: "Yeah? Well tell that to Jubilee."

Iceman: "Jubilee? Oh c’mon Marie! You know how she is. She doesn’t mean anything by it!"

Rogue gives Iceman a look of disgust and disbelief. She gets up and walks off.

Exit Rogue.

Iceman continues to sit there, dropping his head.

Iceman: "Damnit..."

Enter Colossus (Piotr Rasputin) and Kitty Pryde.

Colossus: "What’s going on, Bobby?"

Iceman: "It’s Marie. Ever since she..."

Iceman stops and thinks about what he’s going to say.

Iceman: "...she just hasn’t been happy lately. She feels left out of everything. I need to try to find a way to take her mind off of things."

Colossus: "What is she upset about? She can finally kiss you. I don’t understand why..."

Iceman: "It’s complicated, Pete."

Kitty Pryde: "Maybe you should take her to Genosha."

Iceman: "Genosha?"

Kitty Pryde: "Yeah, that place Jubilee was telling us about. She heard about this small island nation that has become the safe haven for mutants. It’s supposed to have very mutant-friendly governmental policies. Of course, all Jubilee was really interested in were the vacation spots. But maybe you should take Marie there. Get her out of here."

Iceman: "So you want her out of here?"

Kitty Pryde: "No Bobby, not like that! Face it, Bobby, this place hasn’t been the happiest place in the world the past few months. With everything going on with Dr. Grey, with losing Mr. Summers, and Professor Xavier, the attitude around this place has been really low. And then there’s Marie. Poor girl. She came to this place feeling like an outcast because of her mutation, and now she feels left out because she’s the only ‘normal’ human here. This just hasn’t been the best of times. A little vacation might be good for all of us. Jubilee has been going on and on the past week or so about the vacation spots in Genosha. Maybe you should take Marie there."

Colossus: "And if Marie feels that we’re trying to get rid of her, well, we can all go. It’ll be like our own Spring Break."

Kitty Pryde: "That would be fun, Peter.. It will give us all a chance to just get away, to just get our minds off of things, and just have some fun. God knows even this place can get boring after awhile."

Iceman: "You’re right."

Kitty Pryde: "So talk to her about it tonight, okay?"

Iceman: "Sure thing."

Kitty Pryde: "I’m sure you need to go have a talk with her anyways, Bobby, so Peter and I will leave you alone to go do that. See ya’ tomorrow!"

Colossus: "See ya, Bobby."

Exit Colossus and Kitty Pryde.

Bobby stands up and walks into the mansion. He runs through the hallway, and bumps into Storm (Ororo Munroe).

Storm: Careful there, Bobby.

Iceman: Sorry, Ms. Munroe.

Iceman runs off, as Storm chuckles.

Exit Iceman.

Storm: (Looking up at someone) "I wonder where he’s off to in such a hurry."

Enter Wolverine (Logan).

Wolverine: "He’s a teenager who can finally touch his girlfriend, I’ll let you take a guess."

Storm: "Logan..."

Wolverine slightly c o c k s his head, while raising an eyebrow.

Storm: "It’s just good to see some high spirits around here for a change. Everyone has been so down since Scott and Xavier died."

Wolverine: "And Jean."

Storm: "And Jean. It’s just been so hard. I’ve lost my father, I’ve lost my sister, and I’ve lost one of my best friends. It’s just not the same around this place anymore."

Wolverine: "You’ve held this place together pretty well, ‘Ro."

Storm: "I just feel scared sometimes. I couldn’t save Jean. I couldn’t save Scott. I couldn’t save Xavier. How can I expect to protect everyone else here?"

Wolverine: "Don’t beat yourself up, Storm. None of that was your fault."

Storm: "I guess not. Way for me to bring the spirits around here back down, huh? If you don’t mind, I think I just need to be alone for a little while."

Exit Storm.

Wolverine hears a trinkling noise. He looks out of the window to see that it is raining.

Storm is sitting outside, on the roof of the mansion, as the rain continues to drop down over the campus.

End Scene.

Act I, Scene III
Scene: Interior, Oval Office.

The President sits at his desk. The sun shines through the window behind him. Bolivar Trask enters, carrying a folder of documents.

Enter Trask.

President: Good afternoon, Trask.

Trask: Mr. President.

President: Have a seat.

Trask sits down across the desk from the President.

President: What was it you wanted to speak to me about?

Trask: This. (Trask tosses the folder onto the desk. The President examines them.)

President: Trask, we’ve gone over this...

Trask: Mr. President, we’ve found someone to fund the project. You don’t even need to use taxpayer dollars.

President: And who is giving you your funding, Trask?

Trask: The owner of Shaw Industries, Sebastian Shaw.

President: Trask, you know how much of a conflict that cure created. Do you honestly expect the mutant community to take to this lightly?

Trask: Mr. President, there may not have been any attacks by Magneto since that skirmish on Alcatraz. But you know just as well as I do that there will be other mutants out there who are holding a grudge against the human population. This project is our only defense against those mutants. Don’t you remember how many soldiers we lost at Alcatraz?

President: Yes, I do Trask.

Trask: And then there’s those X-Men. Sure, they helped fight against Magneto’s army on Alcatraz, but do you understand the security risk that the very thought of an underground mutant task force creates? There’s no telling when they’ll decide to rise up against us, or others like them.

President: Trask, mutant and human relations are the best that they’ve ever been. I can’t in good conscious risk destroying the progress that we’ve made.

Trask: And as the Secretary of Homeland Defense, I can’t in good conscious sit by and not do anything about this mutant threat, and allow something of that scale to happen again. Within the last year, we’ve had terrorist attacks at the International Summit on Ellis Island, and on the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz in San Francisco. And to this day there still hasn’t been an explanation to that global phenomenon that nearly wiped out the planet’s entire population. Until we finally caught her, Mystique was running free around Washington, posing as Senator Kelly, myself, and other government officials. It wasn’t until after we caught her that we learned of Kelly’s fate. This mutant threat is very real, and Kelly’s Registration Act isn’t nearly enough. We need something that can combat them, Mr. President. And this project is designed to combat the mutant threat.

President: We do have something against the mutant threat. Police departments nation wide now have Mutant Divisions, which are specially trained to go after mutant criminals.

Trask: And what are those Mutant Divisions going to do against armies like the one Magneto formed to march on Alcatraz?

President: I can’t approve anything until I’ve gone over it with Secretary McCoy. I feel that he deserves to have his opinion heard in this matter.

Trask: That’s fair, Mr. President. In fact, I may have the perfect demonstration for both of you. If you would, Mr. President, I’d like to set up a tour of the facility we are working at. I can show you, and Secretary McCoy, the real thing, up close and personal. And then you can make your final decision.

The President looks apprehensively towards Trask. Trask stands up.

Trask: Thank you for your time, Mr. President. I’ll be in touch.

Exit Trask.

The President begins to look through the folder of documents.

End Scene.
 
Act 1, Scene IV

Scene: Interior, Xavier’s Institute For Gifted Youngsters. An upstairs bedroom.

Women’s clothing is spread neatly across the bed, as well as an open suitcase. Rogue is folding clothes and putting them in a suitcase.

Enter Iceman from hallyway.

Iceman: I’m glad you agreed to come with us, Marie.

Rogue: I thought about what you said, Bobby. Maybe you’re right. Maybe I just need to take a break from this place.

Iceman: Yeah, I think we all need to just get away.

Rogue stops folding clothes.

Rogue: Which is why I’m leaving.

Iceman: What? Leaving?

Rogue: Bobby, I just don’t belong here.

Iceman: Of course you do.

Rogue: No, Bobby. I don’t. This is a place for mutants. Xavier gave me a home when I had no place to go...

Iceman: Marie...

Rogue: ...But I’m not a mutant anymore, Bobby. I can go back home now.

Iceman: This place is home.

Rogue: Not anymore, Bobby. Not for me. It’s time for me to move on with my life.

Rogue puts the last piece of clothing in the suitcase, and closes it up.

Iceman: I can’t believe what I’m hearing.
Rogue: I’m sorry, Bobby.

Iceman: Yeah, I’m sorry too.

Exit Iceman.

Rogue: Bobby!

Both angry and sad, Rogue grabs her suitcase and leaves the room. She proceeds downstairs where she encounters Wolverine.

Wolverine: Running again?

Rogue: I’m going home, Logan.

Wolverine: I thought you ran the first time because you didn’t have a home.

Rogue: That was then, Logan.

Wolverine: You know you have a home here.

Rogue: I’m not one of you anymore, Logan. I don’t belong here anymore.

Wolverine: It wasn’t what you wanted, was it?

Rogue puts her head down.

Wolverine: Look kid. It’s your life. Do what you want. I’ll support you.

Rogue looks up at Wolverine.

Wolverine: Whatever happens, you’ll always have a home here.

Rogue: Thanks, Logan.

Rogue sets her suitcase down, and hugs Logan. After letting go, she takes a step back and picks up her suitcase.

Wolverine: Good luck, kid. Take care of yourself out there.

Rogue: Bye, Logan.

Exit Rogue.

Wolverine stands, watching Rogue walk through the door. After she’s left, he stands staring at the door, reflecting upon what just transpired.

Storm - V/O: Logan!

Wolverine snaps out of his train of thought, and turns towards Storm’s voice.

Enter Storm.

Storm: Logan, we have to go. Now!

Wolverine: Go where?

End scene.
 
It's good, but the exchange between Rogue and Logan was a little... cold. I mean, they did save each other's lives (in X1) and had formed quite a unique friendship.

I would have thought they'd have more things to say to each other. Or at least a friendly hug?
 
I like the way how all sequels for x-men feature gambit, you'd of thought the producer would have released he's like one of the all time favourites!

Anyways, they say you are your own worst critic. And the "cold" thing I definatley do kinda see, I guess.

My other self-critique is that it's moving so god damned fast. I'm already on Scene 4 in Act 1, and there's probably about 5 minutes of screentime.

Although, I think part of that is my writing style. I write stage direction. Extra stuff (camera shots, additional non-plot footage, etc.) I don't write, because I'd leave that for the director to add in. So if this were actually shot to film, it'd be extended.

We'll see how it plays out. I have a LOT I wanna do with this. So in the end, this definatley isn't going to be a 10 page short story or something, heh.

Glad you like it though. I'm gonna go over to yours and take a look at what you've added on since the last time I saw it.

I like it. It reads more like a play than a film, but that's interesting. Nice job.:yay:

Thanks.

That's probably because as an English major, I'm used to reading Shakespeare and such.
 
I like he storyline and all, but I feel you need to be closer to the characters. And how did Storm end up on the roof as soon as she exits the scene?

With my writing style, I don't really write "pauses" or delays in time or anything (which is why everything is moving so fast with my script)... because I imagine that to be dealt with by the director or what have you.

But it's supposed to be her exiting the mansion and flying to the roof, and her emotions causing a rainfall.

Anymore insight on how you think I'm deviating from the characters? When I write, I try to picture the movie characters saying these lines. But perhaps I'm hearing the voices in my head the wrong way?

I'm not making any promises, because as I go on, I don't know how I'll be able to work it in, so I might not be able to, but rest assured that you haven't seen the last of Rogue, at least it is not my intention.
 
I dunno, what I tend to do is not look at The last stand. They wern't to close to their characters. I look at X-Men 1, 2 the original show, evolution and the comics for my imagination
