Sequels Can movie-verse based fan-fics be posted in here?

while we're at talking about creative ways :p
i usually write first thinking about the actors, and then i read it twice: having the actors in mind, and then having the comic counterparts in mind.

I dunno, what I tend to do is not look at The last stand. They wern't to close to their characters. I look at X-Men 1, 2 the original show, evolution and the comics for my imagination

Well since this is my X-Men 4, I have to take X-Men: The Last Stand into consideration, because I'm using that as canon.

very true, I was just saying what I did. But you've only done like 3 scenes so far, so we will see. Also are you going by the days of future past storyline or something new?

I'm combining elements of about 2 different story arcs or so, with some influences from other X-Men sources.

For anyone who's actually anticipating my next chapter (except for a couple, I don't seem to have too many fans :csad: ), I am working on it, don't worry.

I'm hoping that I'll possibly have it up tomorrow.

It's been a combination of things; dealing with school and work and not having time, and trying to figure out just exactly what direction I'm taking this thing.

I think I'm getting a much better focus, and better ideas now, and I'm pumping myself up for this. So here's hoping I get the next piece in tomorrow (no promises, but I'll try)

Okay, so I'm a bit late. For those of you who care, hopefully you can forgive me. This is my juiciest scene to date. Hopefully you'll enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it :)

Scene V

Scene: Muir Island Research Center, Interior. Nighttime (approx. 8PM).

A patient lay unconscious on a hospital bed. Moira McTaggert and Sean Cassidy watch over him.

Sean: Has there been any progress, Moira?

Moira: None, Sean. Not since he spoke to me. He slipped back into his coma and never came back out of it.

Sean: And you are absolutely positive that it was Charles?

Moira: Yes. Charles is... was, the most powerful telepath on the planet. He might be the only telepath capable of transferring his consciousness into another person’s body. But even for Charles, it would drain him. I believe that is why he has been comatose for so long.

Sean: Everything about this just seems off, Moira. Charles wasn’t the type of person to do something of this nature. For him it would be unethical.

Moira: I’m just as shocked as you are about it, Sean. Charles was never the type of man to do something just because he was capable of doing it. Not solely out of his own personal interests.

Sean: That’s exactly why I question the situation, Moira. It’s out of character.

Moira: That’s why I am trying to find answers, Sean. Perhaps Charles had a reason to act in such a selfish nature. We’ll never know unless we can find a way to bring him back. I have Forge working on a device that can hopefully do just that. It will be a risk, but it may be the only way to bring Charles back.

Sean: I just hope you’re right. I would hate to see you get your hopes up for nothing, only to be hurt in the end. I know how much Charles meant to you.

Moira: Yes. Well, I suppose we will know soon enough, won’t we?

Enter Lab Assistant.

Assistant: Dr. McTaggert, they are here.

Muir Island, exterior. A helicopter lands on a landing pad just outside of the research facility.

Enter Moira and Sean, escorted by Lab Assistant, from inside the research facility. They approach the helicopter. A man opens the helicopter door.

Enter Storm and Wolverine from helicopter.

Moira: Ororo!

Storm: Hello, Moira.

Moira: I’m glad that you could make it.

Storm: We came as soon as we got your message.

Wolverine: So what is it that’s gotten us all the way out here to Scotland?

Muir Island Research Facility, interior. Moira, Sean, Storm, and Wolverine walk down a hallway.

Storm: So the Professor is alive?

Moira: I believe so. A patient I’ve had here for quite some time spoke to me shortly after Charles’ death.

Wolverine: And?

Moira: This patient has been braindead his entire life. It’s quite a unique case. Although he is braindead, all of his other vitals are perfectly normal. His heart, his respiratory system, everything.

Wolverine: So what does his speaking have to do with the Professor?

Moira: Charles was a very powerful telepath, the most powerful on the planet. His powers extended far beyond merely being able to read your thoughts.

Storm: His powers allowed him to also control your thoughts, and by consequence, your actions.

Moira: Precisely. However, Charles was capable of surpassing even that. By realizing the fullest potential of his abilities, Charles could go as far as to swap his consciousness into another body.

Wolverine: Why didn’t he do that to just get himself a new set of legs?

Storm: Logan!

Sean: Because that’s not who Charles was, Logan.

The group stops outside of a small hospital room.

Wolverine: Okay, so this vegetable guy, what’s all this have to do with him? How would Xavier know about him to swap minds?

Moira: I sent a video on this patient’s case file to Charles. I believe he wanted to use it for his students. Right in here.

Moira leads the group into the hospital room. It is the room with the braindead patient.

Wolverine: That’s Chuck?

Moira: Yes, that’s Charles.

Storm goes to the bed and kneels down beside the patient.

Storm: Professor!

Wolverine: So how do we get him back, Doc?

Moira: That is precisely why I wanted you to come.

Storm stands up and turns towards Moira.

Storm: You know how we can save him? What do you need us to do? Whatever it is, we’ll do it.

Moira: What "it" is is complicated...

Storm: I don’t care. Whatever it takes to get the Professor back!

Moira: ...it’s complicated, and it is not guaranteed to work. But I may have something to at least give us a shot.

Muir Island Research Facility, interior. A laboratory.

Scientists are working around computers.

Enter Moira, Sean, Storm, and Wolverine.

Moira: I’ve had an expert on telepathy come and take a look at Charles’ situation. With her expertise and input, it has helped us to develop a device that may help us to free Charles’ mind.

Storm: Do we know that it will work.

Moira: Not 100%. But Forge is the best that there is. He’s never made something that didn’t work.

The group arrives at a doorway to an isolated room.

Moira: Here we are. Come in and take a look for yourself.

The group enters the room. Forge sits alone in the room, working on a small device that resembles a helmet. Wires come out of the top of it, leading to a computer.

Moira: Hello, Forge.

Forge looks up from his work at the group.

Forge: Oh, hello Moira.

Forge stands up and approaches the group.

Forge: I’m Forge. Pleasure to meet you. You must be the X-Men.

Storm: Yes. My name is Ororo Munroe. This is Logan. You’re the one building the machine to help the Professor?

Forge: Yup, sure am. My mutation allows me to create any machine I can think of.

Wolverine: You just think of something and it’s created?

Forge: (Laughing) No, it’s not quite that simple. I think of what I want to create, and my brain is able to produce the blueprints for me to create it. It does allow me to create things that mankind has not yet developed the technology for. Like this little machine I’m working on now.

Storm: So, does it work?

Forge: I haven’t had a chance to test it yet. I’d be pretty disappointed if it didn’t. It’d be my first failure. Although, I suppose a lot of the success depends on you guys.

Wolverine: Us? What do we have to do with this thing?

Moira: If this device does indeed work, you’ll both need to go in and save him.

Wolverine: "Go in"? Go in where?

Woman - V/O: The Astral Plane.

Storm and Wolverine turn towards the voice. Standing in the doorway is a blonde woman, wearing a white dress, and white knee high stilettos.

Moira: Ororo, Logan, meet Emma Frost. She is the expert I was telling you about earlier. The one here to study Charles’ condition.

Emma Frost: You must be the X-Men. Dr. McTaggert here has told me so much about you.

Storm: Not too much, I hope.

Emma Frost chuckles.

Storm: So what is this Astral Plane?

Emma Frost: It’s another dimension of sorts. A plane of existence for the mind. All existence in our reality also exists in another form in the Astral Plane. Telepaths, like myself, or your Professor, are able to enter the Astral Plane willingly. You can think of it as how we get our power. Your Professor, however, is trapped in the Astral Plane.

Wolverine: So the Professor is in that body?

Emma Frost: Yes, and no. As Dr. McTaggert probably told you, Charles Xavier’s powers ranged beyond just plain telepathy. He did transfer his consciousness into this man’s body. However, in the process, Charles Xavier’s consciousness was also trapped in the Astral Plane. If he can be freed from the Astral Plane, his consciousness can take full hold on this body, and Charles Xavier will be alive, once again.

Storm: And if he can’t be freed?

Emma Frost: Then he’ll be trapped in this braindead body until the body dies, taking Charles Xavier’s consciousness into death with it.
Forge: That’s what my device is for. It’s designed to allow non-telepaths to enter the Astral Plane. With this device, I can send the 2 of you into the Astral Plane, where you can locate Xavier’s consciousness, and free his mind.

Wolverine: How are we supposed to find the Professor in the Astral Plane and bring him back when we barely even know what the Astral Plane is?

Moira: Ms. Frost here will be your guide.

Emma Frost: As a telepath, I don’t need machines to go to and from the Astral Plane. I can go with you as your guide, and help you in the right direction to freeing your Professor.

Wolverine: Well, I feel a lot better about this already.

Storm: If this is what we need to do to free the Professor, then it will be done. I won’t sit idly by if there is something I can do about it.

Wolverine: Then I guess we’re going to the Astral Plane.

Emma Frost: Don’t worry, hun. I’m sure you’ll have a blast there.

Wolverine: I bet.
Moira: We can work out all the details later. Now, I bet you and Logan are tired from your travels. Sean can show you to your quarters. I need to get back and check on Charles’ condition.

Forge: And I still need to work out the kinks on this baby.

Emma Frost: Very well then. Ms. Munroe, Logan, it was nice to finally meet the two of you in person. It shall be quite an experience working with the two of you over the coming days.

Wolverine: Oh, I’m sure.

Exit Emma Frost.

Wolverine: (To Storm) Things just keep getting crazier and crazier with you people, don’t they.

End Scene.

I really like it. :) The scene moved so well, how you wrote in Emma Frost was amazing, can't wait for more.

Thanks. These next couple scenes are going to be my favorite to write, I think, because these next few scenes are going to really start establishing my story arc.

As such, they are probably also going to be some of the longest. At least longer than the first ones I wrote. So they'll probably take longer. :(

Hope you're patient!

As long as you keep up the good work, I can wait! :woot:

Are we gonna get the shadow king in this one then? A little like XML? Good stuff though!

It's an interesting concept so far, though your format is way off. I recommend actually learning how to write a screenplay in the correct format before tackling the writing aspect if you actually intend to do something like this for a living (you mentioned that you're an English major, so I don't know). Other than that, it's OK. The plot's a little too "comic booky" for me, but please don't take it as an insult because it's not intended to be; I just don't see this kind of thing working on the big screen. The dialogue needs some work, but other than that, I'm intrigued. Keep it coming!

Oh my God! A response! And I haven't even posted anything in well over a month. Amazing...

I do want to do something like this for a living, and I do intend on taking the proper classes to learn how to do it.

The college that I'm attending now is a community college and does not offer up screenwriting classes. So since I haven't had the oppourtunity to take classes to learn how to write in screenplay format, I'm going off of the script format I am familiar with, which is pretty much just Shakespear stage plays.

It is a bit too comic booky. I really enjoyed Bryan Singer's "real world" tone, but X-Men: The Last Stand also proved to me that the stories could be a bit more comic booky, and still maintain that real world feel.

Anyways, I really don't have a desire for a real X-Men 4 to appear on the big screen, as I think that X-Men: The Last Stand concluded things to a point that doesn't allow for continuation. So this isn't a collection of what I want to happen with a future movie, as I don't want future movies, but rather something I am (was, maybe will be again) doing for fun.

As far as my dialogue goes, perhaps that comes from me never having written a real script before?

Anyways, this thing has been on my mind, so perhaps I will continue to work on it. Thanks for your reply, and I look forward to hearing your opinion on any additions to this script that I may submit.
