Now, a while ago, I made a fan-fic for this character a while back. That script was...(unfortunately) irrelevant. Full of under-developed and un-interesting characters, as well as sequences, and went back and re-read it yesterday. I found myself deeply disappointed in what I had made and I will regret it for the rest of my life(along with some other attempted screenplays that... failed).

However, I'm proud to say that I'm going to attempt to make another fan-fic based off of the character but(once again) seperate from the 'Spider-Man' universe and all other universes as this is a completely new take on the origin of the characters: Eddie Brock, Venom and the symbiote itself(along with the other characters I may include from the comic-books).

I'm not fully ready to start this fan-fic yet(as I'm doing a tad bit of research this time around the character and his mythology because I'm not all that fond with it), alike many of the posters and screenwriters themselves start, I've begun with a simple idea of how I should make it. I've written some fan-fics that have worked out long before this where I'm proud of the format(not exactly sure how I feel about 'Punisher: War Journal' yet, but... once again, I'm happy with the format). And I've finally completed one that I am indeed proud of; which you can check out here:
http://www.scriptbuddy.com/community/?p=4291533034&t=&pg

Really, I'm just looking to influence people that this character can work as a solo character in a film, but this is one of those projects where they have to "Stay Away From the Source Material". Although, some are very proud of the material(I'm generally talking about the mini-series with this) and I respect anybody who is, I am one who just thinks that this character has a lot of qualities to him that will make for a great character and a great villain.

Now, keep in mind(for this fan-fic), I am not looking to make Venom a straight-laced superhero, let alone an anti-hero, this fan-fic will expose Eddie Brock as the only real hero in this world where no character like Spider-Man exists.

I'm just about to toss a trailer together(text-trailer; as I like to call them) to let some of my ideas out. And, beware in knowing that, some of the content featured in the trailer may not even be in the fan-fic. So, you won't have to really worry if you don't like what you're reading... yet.

So, I hope you stick around.

"I've found an answer," Eddie narrates.

A beaten-down Eddie, tries his best to crawl to his love, Anne. As he drags his hurting body through the wet snow.

"To everything."

Eddie finally reaches Anne, as he slips her body onto his lap, where tears begin to rush from Eddie's eyes.

"But with this answer..."

Eddie then looks up in-rage, to catch the three men who had commited the crime running off in terror. As one of them, Cletus, quickly peers over his shoulder to catch sight of an enraged Eddie.

Eddie then throws his fist right up-against the tree.

"No one's safe," Eddie reveals to a priest, while inside the confessional.

Eddie then slowly slides down alongside the tree, clenching his now bleeding fist, as he then finally reaches the ground.

"Don't worry, Eddie," a moving black symbiote rested on Eddie's shoulder, as it whispered into Eddie's ear. "We'll take care of that."

Marcus looks in fear slightly above Cletus' shoulder, while inside the pitch black washroom, whereas behind Cletus lied two glowing white, oddly-triangular shaped eyes.

Text; "Evil"

The symbiote begins to make it's way into Eddie's mouth and around his face, as if forming another layer of skin.

Chasing Cletus from behind was a strange black-figure, whom was leaping his way closer and closer to Cletus, as if a lion attempting to catch it's prey.

Text; "Shines"

Sufficating Berg with both his hands was Venom, as a part of his face was finally revealed.

Text; "Within"

Anne walks into Eddie's apartment, only to catch him in the symbiote suit. He turned around to face her, to show that only Venom's mouth had been formed, as the top-half of Eddie's head was visible. Anne's face suddenly turns pale with fear.

"What have you done to yourself?" Anne asks, with almost no motion. Eddie then smiles back at her, normally, as he always would. But, with the symbiote covering his jaw, he looked much more fearful.

Suddenly, confronted with the full-moon on the roof was Venom, as he begun to scream in full-force at it.

Chapter 1:
INT. EDDIE'S APARTMENT(LIVING ROOM) - NIGHT

Lying on the couch with one another were Eddie and Anne, Anne was closest to the edge of the couch while Eddie cradled he safely within his arms, whereas she then gripped his arms with her hands.

"I became all cheerful inside once I heard the phone ring," Anne spoke to Eddie. "In time to hear your voice over the other end."

"...And I became cheerful with just thinking about it," Eddie told Anne. "I don't think I could've passed up another night without you."

Anne smiled, as Eddie pulled one of his arms away from holding her to allow him to move the strip of hair away from her face, as he continued to gently rub her cheek.

"The stars look beautiful tonight," Anne examined from outside Eddie's window, which was right before the two.

"I know," Eddie agreed, as he added. "If only these bloody large skyscrapers weren't always in the way."

"Someone's gotta swing from them," Anne joked.

Eddie chuckled.

"Really, Anne?" Eddie jokingly played along.

"Yeah," Anne smirked up at him.

Anne then transformed the smirk into a smile, showing her beautiful white teeth.

"Yeah, whatever," Eddie continued. "...Whatever you say."

Anne then reached her hand up to Eddie's neck, as she begun to try and tickle him. Eddie chuckled again.

"You are unbelievable, you know that?" Eddie asked Anne.

"Not until now," Anne remarked.

Eddie and Anne then both looked down at each other, as Eddie once again wrapped both his arms back around Anne.

Chapter 2:
INT. EDDIE'S APARTMENT(BEDROOM) - MORNING

Eddie awakens to the sound of his alarm clock, staring at the ceiling, he reaches towards the clock and gently shuts it off. He then turns his his attention to the other side of the bed to see that the bed was empty; with one other pillow seated amongst the mattress, virtually untouched.

INT. EDDIE'S APARTMENT(KITCHEN) - MORNING

With a large glass of milk and a plate of scrambled eggs seated before him on the table, Eddie takes a sip of milk from the glass, before he sets it down to dig his fork into a mouthful's amount of eggs. Checking on the television, he noticed Anne Weying was now on with the news. He set his fork down, as he turned up the television with the remote.

"-And we have just recieved a disturbing news story: A young child was discovered, dead, on the corner of 14th Street eariler this morning. Sources say the cause of death was by a stabbing wound in the stomach area of the child. 'Morning Manhattan News' woud like to send condolences out to the child's family and peers-"

INT. RUNDOWN BUILDING - MORNING

Suddenly, a knife collided with the television screen, as it only caused a crack in the screen itself. Whereas Cletus hopped back towards the television to retrieve the knife.

"I've already sent my condolences to the family and peers, Miss Weying," Cletus explained, as he kicked the television right down off of the stand. The remaining gang of three thugs laughed. "...Guess what, boys..."

"What?" Berg and Taylor asked, as Marcus stood in his position with his arms crossed.

"Shut the ---- up," Cletus yelled. Once again, the gang of thugs picked up the laughter. However, it was all apart from Marcus who was laughing. Cletus then hopped right over Berg's head, as Berg quickly knelt down in time, and made his way towards the child's family; clumsily almost tripping up after landing. "So what was your child's name again?"

The mother and father of the child didn't respond, nor could they, as their mouths were taped shut. While they sat on the ground together, with their backs pressed against one another. But suddenly, Cletus kicked the father right in the head, which caused both the mother and father to fall to the side; as they both had tape repeatedly wrapped around their stomachs.

Cletus points at the father, "I'm going to be calling you... Roy." Cletus then pointed at the mother, "And I'm going to be naming you after my wife, Sarah."

Marcus' eyes widened for a moment after the name was mentioned, as Cletus then knelt down beside "Sarah".

"...But in no way is she as beautiful as you," Cletus sincerely complemented, but slowly begun to smirk in the falseness of the statement; in his own mind. "I'm just kidding. Afterall, you're both gonna look worse right after me and my batch of pals here are done beating the living hell out of you and your husband... Do you comprehend?"

The woman's eyes widened in terror, along with the tears that were soaked against her own face like heavy amounts of sweat.

Chapter 3:
INT. NEWS ROOM - MORNING

With a commercial break finally set, Anne continues to sit at the front-desk; examining the news stories further. She finally pulls out the piece of paper she was looking for and sets it down on the desk.

"What kind of sick person would do such a thing to a child?" Anne asked herself.

"I don't know... Maybe a nice, warm double-double?" Bobby brought over Anne's coffee.

"Thanks, Bobby," Anne took the hold of the coffee cup from out of Bobby's hand, as Bobby himself rushed back out of the camera's frame.

"Hey, Anne."

"Yeah?"

"When are we going out on our hot date tonight?"

Anne chuckled, "Dream on, hotshot."

"I don't know, Anne. I had a pretty great dream about you last night," Bobby told Anne, as she pointed back at him.

"Watch it, mister," Anne directed, as she took a sip from her coffee cup.

"Yes, ma'am," Bobby sarcastically replied, as he saluted Anne. She then set her coffee cup down onto the desk and saluted him back, as well. Where she then picked the papers back up off of the desk and continued to read over them.

EXT. DAILY GLOBE - MORNING

Eddie rides on his bike up the street towards, his workplace, the 'Daily Bugle'. But before him, while crossing the street, a man dressed in buisness attire gets in his bike's path.

"Look out, look out, look out," Eddie repeatedly mutters to himself. Up until he himself avoids collision with the man by squeezing in between the man and the vehicle's parked before the crossing pedestrians. "Thanks, mate."

INT. DAILY GLOBE(LOBBY) - MORNING

Eddie walks into the building, avoiding more pedestrians, as he carries his bike over on his shoulders; walking towards the front-desk. Where he finally stops at the front-desk to meet Julie.

"Hey, Julie," Eddie greets.

"Good morning, Mr. Brock," Julie greets back, along with a smile.

"Brought you a little present," Eddie lifts his bike over the counter and gently sets it down on the floor behind it. Where Julie then helped and placed the bike up-against the wall out of her and the others way, while Eddie then pulled something out of his pocket and held it out in-front of Julie, it was a small present-box with a green stripped pattern and red ribbon neatly tied around it. "Happy Birthday, Jules."

Julie looks down at it in shock, as she let out a little scream. "Thank you, Eddie!" Julie reached over the counter and hugged Eddie.

INT. DAILY GLOBE(EMPLOYEE'S OFFICE) - MORNING

"Terrence, story now! Terrence, story now!" Larry, the 'Daily Globe's publisher, yelled after Terrence. Whereas Terrence was jokingly clearing ear-wax out from inside his ears. While Eddie attempted to hold back chuckles.

"That's not the story," Terrence joked with Eddie, where Terrence refered to what Eddie was typing.

"Not your story, buddy," Eddie corrects.

Terrence was then handed a piece of paper that he had recently printed off of his computer, whereas he stands up from his seat and stares down at Eddie. "I know that," Terrence finally replies, where Terrence himself then slowly begun his descent towards Larry; who once again stepped out of his office.

"Terrence, story now!" Larry once again shouted, as Terrence then begun to race after him.

"Coming, sir!"

Eddie rolled his eyes, as he turned back towards his own computer monitor and begins to type into the keyboard. However, in the corner of Eddie's eye, he notices someone looking over his shoulder.

"Keep it up, Aaron," Eddie stated while continuing with his typing, whereas he then stopped for a moment and turned around towards Aaron.

"Eddie, we all know you're full-speed ahead, just help a guy-" Aaron was cut off by Eddie.

"Spare me the cliche, ----head. Your packing "scumbag" and the whole office knows it. So, why don't you sit down, shut up and keep away from stealing my work," Eddie commanded.

"Or what?" Aaron arrogantly questioned.

"Or what?... How 'bout I take your sorry ass to court if you even attempt to do it again," Eddie answered, as Aaron begun laugh sarcastically. "You want to play with me, ----head?"

Eddie stood up from off his seat.

"Sit down," Aaron ordered Eddie. Eddie ignored, as he stared eye-to-eye with Aaron.

"I'm going to tell you one last time," Eddie says loud enough for Aaron to hear. "You do it again, and I'll take you to court... Capiche?"

"...You've got work to do, Eddie," Aaron reversed the conversation, as he slowly backed away from Eddie. Eddie watched for Aaron to take his seat, and once he finally did, so did Eddie himself. Where Eddie then progressed with his work.

Chapter 4:
EXT. HUDSON RIVER - MORNING

Out in the middle of the Hudson River was Cletus, Berg, Marcus and Taylor, along with "Roy" and "Sarah"; all of whom were standing (or seated) amongst a rust-covered speed boat.

"Quite risky doing this in open daylight, Cletus," Marcus stated, as Cletus took another large drink out from his beer bottle.

"Risky's my game, Marcus-boy," Cletus replied, as he shoved Marcus out of his way and marched towards "Roy" and "Sarah". Kneeling down beside the two, he carelessly tosses the beer bottle off the boat.

"It sure is a sad day, isn't it?" Taylor asked "Roy" and "Sarah".

"It sure is," Cletus agreed, as he then pulled out a knife from inside his pocket and held the blade before "Roy" and "Sarah". "I'll try not to hurt you... for this part. But I just wanna hear your screams."

Cletus then smiled demonically.

INT. DAILY GLOBE(PUBLISHER'S OFFICE) - MORNING

Larry was talking over the phone.

"Yeah?" Larry asked the person on the other end.

"Yeah," the person on the other end responded.

"Yeah?..."

"Yes, I'm sure."

"Yeah? Tell you what, dip----. I've got a better writer than you," Larry responded, as he caught Eddie coming towards his office. "And he just so happens to be right outside my door."

Larry pointed at Eddie and threw his finger down to pointing to the floor inside his office. Eddie tried to open the door, but it was locked. Larry then got up from his chair and made his way to the door, but was stopped in his tracks by the phone cord, where he was still holding onto the phone. Larry snarled, as he made his way back to the desk and sat back down in his chair. Finally, Eddie made his way into Larry's office, with the help of the secretary outside.

"Thanks, Diane," Eddie thanked the secretary, Diane. As Eddie walked into Larry's office, whereas Diane closed the door behind him.

Larry finally hung-up the phone and looked up at Eddie.

"Eddie! What stories you have for me today?" Larry asked with joy.

"Well, nothing major happened yesterday. Except for that boy who was killed," Eddie explained.

"Yes... it's always heart-breaking when you hear something like that. It's even more heart-breaking when you have to put it on the front-page," Larry said, as he placed a piece of gum in his mouth.

"How's the smoking coming along for you?" Eddie asked.

Terrence flashed Eddie the package of 'Nicorette Gum', which he had just put a piece of it in his mouth.

"Quite tasty, actually," Larry commented on the gum's flavour.

"Nice to know, sir," Eddie replied, as Larry nodded in agreement, while Larry himself continued chewing the gum.

Chapter 5:
INT. DAILY GLOBE(EMPLOYEE'S OFFICE) - MORNING

Eddie sat at his desk, awaiting the clock to turn, as Terrence took a seat beside Eddie.

"Waiting 'til the cows come home, my friend?" Terrence guessed.

"Waiting for the hour to turn, "Friend"," Eddie corrected, as Terrence leaned closer towards Eddie.

"Hey, you think Julie will go out with me?" Terrence asked.

"...She's married, man," Eddie answered, as there was a pause between the two.

"...You're lying," Terrence presumed, as he sat almost still in his seat.

"No... you can ask her yourself. Or you can look on her index finger, either way would prove me right," Eddie explained, as threw his backpack over his shoulder.

INT. RUNDOWN BUILDING - NIGHT

Cletus, Berg, Marcus and Taylor walked into the Rundown Building, as Berg and Taylor began to jump around in joy.

"Man, that was awesome, Cletus," Berg complemented, as Cletus nodded in approval.

"That was fun, wasn't it?" Cletus asked all three men.

"Hell yeah," all the men called in agreement, except for Marcus.

Marcus then came up beside Cletus and put his hand on Cletus' shoulder, where he then pushed him up to the wall.

"We screwed up today, Cletus," Marcus objected, as Taylor and Berg ran up the stairs in a crazy-joy.

"How so?" Cletus asked.

"You know how," Marcus shot at Cletus. "Everytime we get close to becoming captured by the police, or even killed, it's always due to you and the bottle."

"You never had a problem with it before."

"I never said anything about it before."

"Why not?"

"Because I took it amongst myself to think that you knew when to improve your foulish acts..."

A pause stopped in-between Cletus and Marcus' conversation.

"...You mentioned Sarah today," Marcus noted.

"...Yeah," Cletus hesitantly responded.

"Did it take you back?" Marcus asked, as Cletus then looked up to the ceiling.

"...Yes," Cletus finally answered, where he looked back down to Marcus. "She pulled the trigger right in-front of me... Why?"

"...Because she wanted to hurt you, Cletus," Marcus said calmly. "I won't lie about such a thing. But you know better than to let her get the best of you... because you're better."

Cletus nodded, accepting what Marcus had just told him.

"...Thanks, friend," Cletus said to Marcus, where Cletus then headed back up the stairs. "Good friend, you are."

INT. PHONE BOOTH - NIGHT

Eddie picked up the phone from it's holster, as he begun to dial a number into the box.

INT. ANNE'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

Anne was watching television, with a bowl of popcorn beside her, as the phone then begun to ring. She reached for it and answered the call.

"Hello," Anne greeted.

CUT TO:

"Hey, beautiful," Eddie greeted back.

CUT TO:
"Who's calling?" Anne asked, in a joking manner.

CUT TO:

"Just another sad and loney man calling a pretty face from a phone booth," Eddie answered enthusastically.

CUT TO:

"Well, that's good to know, I guess," Anne replied, as she thrown some popcorn into her mouth.

CUT TO:

"Sure is, ain't it?"

CUT TO:

"Sure is."

CUT TO:

"But hey, I was just wondering if you wanted to maybe come over to my place... watch a movie, sip on some 'Coca Cola'..."

CUT TO:

"Well, I'm currently right in the middle of watching a movie at my place."

CUT TO:

"Oh, I see. Plain hard to get, aren't you?"

CUT TO:

"Sure am."

CUT TO:

"...But I'm bettin' you're well worth it, aren't you?"

CUT TO:

"I guess you could say so," Anne giggled.

CUT TO:

"There's a giggle," Eddie caught. "That right there has to be varification of whether or not to come over to your place."

CUT TO:

"Well... I guess you've earned the right, by now."

CUT TO:

"That's great news for "Mr. Me", and he'll be over there in a moment."

CUT TO:

"I'll be waiting, "Mr. Me"."

CUT TO:

"He'll be running!"

CUT TO:

Anne giggled again, as Eddie then hung-up the phone and walked out of the phone booth.

INT. ANNE'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

Anne placed the phone back on it's rack, as she begun to look around, assuring herself that the place look at it's best. Where she then raced into the washroom.

INT. RUNDOWN BUILDING(LIVING ROOM) - NIGHT

Berg opened the mini frigerator and pulled out four bottles of beer, as he then kicked the door closed while walking towards the two couchs, where Cletus, Marcus and Taylor were seated. Berg set the beers on the table, beside the bowl of pretzels, as Berg then pulled himself a handful of pretzels from the bowl, as he sat down beside Taylor.

"Okay, time to put it in," Cletus held his hands out before the three, as they all sighed.

"You caught me in the middle of a pretzel-feast here, Cletus" Berg remarked.

"One hand this time then," Cletus responded, as he pulled one of his hands back. Finally, the three put their hands in with Cletus'. "We live together, we suffer together, we drink together, we eat together and we die together."

"Amen," all four of them called. As they then pulled their hands away, Cletus looked at the three in a slight disgust.

"I tell you all, I'm getting sick of this "team cheer" bull----," Taylor replied, as he pulled the cap off his beer bottle.

"It's not a "team cheer", you stupid -----," Cletus threw at Taylor.

"That was pretty mean, Cletus," Taylor took a drink from the beer bottle and slotched back up-against the couch. "Afterall, ain't I one of the team-players?"

"Shut up, Taylor," Marcus replied. "Imagine where we'd be if we weren't together on this... anyone?"

"We'd be dead," Berg muttered.

"Exactly, so stop your whining Taylor. And be happy you're alive," Marcus directed, as Taylor nodded in approval, whereas he took another sip of beer.

Excellent work, thejon93. It's always good to see Venom related works in the fiction section. I really like the dialogue, and how you describe each scene.

I can't wait to read what happens next.

Thanks, Arcturus. This time around, I had a lot more time to really think about the characters and the story, as well as the atmosphere. Which is why I wanted to attempt to re-write it because I'm really interested in this character and I believe he has a greater potential than what we've seen so far from him in the comic-books. That's the main reason why I'm so supportive of this character and why I really wanted to write a script to show where this/these character(s) can go.

Chapter 8:
INT. ANNE'S APARTMENT(LIVING ROOM) - NIGHT

Eddie and Anne lied next to each other on the couch, with a blanket over-top of each other and a pillow underneath their heads. While the television screen glowed amongst their faces, with the remainder of the lights turned off.

"Just like the other night," Anne whispered to Eddie.

"Just like every night," Eddie replied. "From now on. I just... only wish I could see your face in the mornings, you know?"

"I know," Anne replied. "When can you move in?"

Eddie smirked, as he looked down at Anne. "Sooner, rather than later."

"That's good to know, "Mr. Me"," Anne joked as Eddie begun to laugh.

""Mr. Me" took a flight over to Mexico for the night, please don't ask me why," Eddie played along, as Anne begun to chuckle. Eddie then reached his hand down to her stomach. Anne begun to chuckle harder. "And what was that buisness of trying to "tickle me" the other night?..."

Anne continued laughing. "I don't know."

Eddie finally stopped, as he pulled his hand away and now held both his hands up above his head. "I surrender."

Anne then pulled the pillow up from beneath their heads and threw it behind her at Eddie.

"Hey! That was so mean," Eddie laughed, as he tried to retrieve the pillow, which Anne now had her hands around. But she successfully pulled away and continued tossing it back at Eddie, who jumped to the opposite side of the couch. "That was a cheap shot!"

"Oh, you calling me cheap, Buster?"

"Not technically, but you hit me off-guard."

Anne then swung the pillow back at Eddie, who caught it right out of her hands. As he then threw it behind him on the couch, then swung his arms around Anne, where he begun to kiss her. As the both of them fell back overtop of the pillow.

INT. RUNDOWN BUILDING(BEDROOM) - NIGHT

It was a tight room, but there was enough room for the four of them to sleep inside their sleeping bags. As Cletus, Berg and Marcus were the only ones awake. While Taylor was sleeping. Berg motioned at Taylor to Cletus and Marcus.

"God damn, he sleeps like a dead drunk, don't he?" Berg jokingly asked, whereas Cletus and Marcus begun to laugh. "Ahh, you knew it all along, right Taylor?"

Berg called back to a sleeping Taylor who did not come up with a response.

"I don't think he heard you, Berg," Cletus said, where Berg was about to call back to Taylor. "But... let's not hear it again, for tonight."

"You're a r-cist-man, I tell you," Berg claimed.

""R-cist"? Man, if I were "r-cist", you'd have me dead already. And that... I kid you not," Cletus responded, as he tucked himself into his own sleeping bag.

"I swear I heard that from somewhere," Berg muttered to himself.

"Cletus," Cletus turned around towards Marcus.

"Yeah?"

"What's the plan for tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow... I was thinking that we just leave the world in peace. Watch some movies, drink some drinks, eat some chicken fingers. All that jazz," Cletus answered.

"Sounds good," Marcus complemented, as the both launched their heads back overtop their pillows.

"Sounds like a Pacino-line," Berg continued.

"Good night, Berg," Cletus called, whereas Berg leaned his head onto his pillow as well.

"You ever take a dump that made you feel like you just slept for twelve hours?" Berg continued to mutter to himself, as Cletus turned back over to face him.

"What?!"

"Good night to you, as well, Cletus," Berg reversed, as he closed his eyes to fall asleep.

Chapter 9:
INT. ANNE'S APARTMENT(LIVING ROOM) - MORNING

Eddie opened his eyes, while lying on the couch, only to find Anne gone again. He then pulled the pillow out from underneath his head, as he tossed it to the other side of the couch. As he then got off the couch, fishing up his clothes, whereas he then walked over to the sink, where he caught glimpse of a set of apartment keys and a note. Eddie picked up the note and held the keys in the other hand.

"Had so much fun last night that I forgot we were at my place. If you want, feel free to use the shower here. I've left you a set of keys(which you'd probably be smart enough to have found by now) and if you want, you can make yourself some breakfast," Eddie read, as he smiled at the last phrase, which read: "Love you, Eddie!". Eddie then set the note back down where he had found it, as he then tossed the keys up in the air and caught them again. "Love you too, Anne."

Eddie then made his way towards the washroom.

INT. RUNDOWN BUILDING(BEDROOM) - MORNING

"Cletus," Cletus awakened by the sound of a yell at him, it was Marcus.

"What is it?" Cletus asked Marcus.

"...It's Berg," Marcus answered, as Cletus then lied back down onto his pillow, to catch glimpse of Berg holding Taylor's head on his lap. As the rest of Taylor's body was motionless.

Cletus then got up from inside his sleeping bag and marched towards Berg and Taylor's motionless figure.

"Wake up, dammit," Berg cried. "Wake up!"

"Berg," Cletus tried to pull Berg away from Taylor's lifeless body, only to be pushed away by Berg himself.

"Leave me alone," Berg yelled at Cletus and Marcus.

"Listen, Berg-"

Marcus was cut off, by the reveal of a revolver in Berg's hand, pointing up at Marcus. His hand was shaking like crazy.

"...Nobody asked for this to happen," Cletus started, while Berg continued pointing the gun at Marcus, who remained as still as he could. "But let me check his oulse, to essure us all whether it's true.

"Get back," Berg now pointed the gun at Cletus, who froze(alike Marcus) in his position. "I don't need to truth!"

"...We all need the truth," Cletus claimed, as he took a step towards Berg. "But when your friends are trying to help you to find it, then you shut up and listen! Shoot me now if you want to be lost forever!"

"But play that bull---- with me, Cletus," Berg cried. "This is all your fault!"

Cletus froze still for a moment, but then suddenly charged after Berg. Whereas he kicked him right in the head, which launched the weapon right out of Berg's hand. Cletus then picked Berg up from off of the floor and threw him back down to it, hard, landing right next to Taylor. Cletus then held Berg down to the ground with his knee pressed on his back, as Cletus himself checked Taylor's pulse.

"He's dead," Cletus confirmed. "I'm sorry..."

Cletus got up off of Berg, as he took Berg's weapon along with him as well. Whereas both Marcus and Cletus left the room, leaving Berg alone with a deceased Taylor. As tears begun to roll down from Berg's eyes.

CUT TO:

In the kitchen, Cletus put Berg's revolver away in one of the drawers, as Marcus finally made it down with him.

"What are we going to do about the body?" Marcus asked in panic.

"...I don't know," Cletus replied, as he hesitated to come up with a response.

"What about Berg? What if he goes psycho?"

"I don't know..."

"Well, what are you going to do?-"

Cletus immediately turned around towards Marcus. "I don't know! I don't know! I don't know!" Cletus yelled repeatedly, as he then turned away from Marcus. Shortly afterward, Cletus kicked the cupboard door in rage.

INT. ANNE'S APARTMENT(WASHROOM) - MORNING

While preparing to get ready for his shower, Eddie opens the shower door. And before he turned the nob down the middle, he caught glimpse of a package on the shelf next to the shampoo. Eddie reached in to grab it, it was an envelope entitled to: "EDDIE". Eddie smirked, as he finally opened the envelope, dropping the torn remainders of the envelope down to the floor, as he pulled out what was inside.

"A tape-recorder," Eddie examined, as he then turned the tape-recorder around to see a small message attached to the back. "I'm sorry it took me such a while to get it to you, but finally, I did as I promised. I hope you can find a good use for it. Love, Anne."

Eddie laughed in joy. "Thank you again, Anne," Eddie then set the tape-recorder safely next to the sink, as he then took off his shirt; in preparation to get into the shower.

INT. DAILY GLOBE(EMPLOYEE'S OFFICE) - MORNING

Eddie walked into the "Employee's Only" offices, as he made his way to his work-station, only to find the place already gone chaotic. But, out of the crowd, he swore that he could make out his name being called.

"Eddie!"

Eddie was correct, as he finally caught glimpse of Larry.

"Eddie!" And indeed it was Larry calling for him, as Eddie made his way through the mob and down towards Larry.

"Sir," Eddie greeted, finally making it to Larry.

"Enough chit-chat. I got a call just recently, want to take a guess at who was on the other end?" Larry asked.

"Your barber, sir?" Eddie guessed, awaiting the correct answer.

"No," Larry objected, as Eddie nodded in approval. "Your friend, Terrence."

"He's not coming in today, is he?"

"No."

"Okay-"

"Do you want to know why?" Larry intrupted Eddie, asking him a new question.

"...Drinking?" Eddie guessed, again, awaiting an answer.

"How the hell did you know that?" Larry responded, as Eddie looked in shock at Larry.

"I was right?..."

"Did you provoke this, Eddie?"

"Absolutely not, I don't drink."

"Well, that's nice to hear, Mr. Brock," Larry complemented.

"Thank you, sir," Eddie accepted.

"You know where he lives, right?"

"...No, we don't really "hang-out" with each other, we're kind of like..."

"Work friends," Larry completed.

"Exactly."

"Well, can I ask you to run an errand?"

"Shoot."

Larry smirked, as he pulled a piece of paper off of the sticky-pad amongst the secretary's desk. Where he also pulled up a pen, which Diane handed to him.

"Thanks, Diane," Eddie took it upon himself to thank the secretary on behave of Larry, where she simply smiled back at him in response. While, finally, Larry completed the note and handed it to Eddie.

"That's the son of a -----'s address," Larry confirmed, as he went on. "I'd go there myself. But, of course you know all the responsiblity that lies on me here. Just go to his apartment and make sure he's alright, I don't want to lose one of my employees over stupid acts like this."

"No problem, sir," Eddie replied, as he made his way back through the crowd of working employees, back to the door.

Chapter 11:
INT. RUNDOWN BUILDING(KITCHEN) - MORNING

Cletus and Marcus were both seated on the floor in the kitchen, where they held their heads in their arms, using their knees as support. But suddenly, a thud in the living room alerted them, as they both almost instantaneously pulled their heads up to see what had caused the noise. Where Cletus and Marcus both caught Berg dragging a large garbage bag(presumingly with Taylor inside; due to the bag's attached weight).

Cletus and Marcus then both leapt up to their feet, as they both raced after Berg, stopping him before he could reach the doorway.

"You can't bury him now, Berg," Cletus warned. "Think, dammit!"

"What about yesterday, Cletus?" Berg asked. "What about the ---holes we dumped out into the Hudson yesterday? And, in case you forgot, it was in broad daylight!"

"That was because no one could hardly see us from how far out we were out," Marcus replied, as Berg instantly turned towards him.

"Shut up, you stupid -----," Berg insulted, as Marcus then punched Berg right in the jaw. As Cletus tried to seperate the two.

"Get away from each other, dammit," Cletus cursed, as Marcus obeyed and backed calmly away. While Cletus continued to hold Berg back. "Stop it, now!"

Finally, an enraged Cletus was fed up with holding Berg back, as Cletus then forcefully shoved Berg backwards. An even further more enraged Berg then came charging towards Cletus, who quickly lunged his knee right into Berg's stomach, which made Berg collapse down to his knees on the floor. Berg held his stomach in pain, as Cletus knelt down beside him.

"He's dead, Berg, okay?" Cletus reminded Berg, whereas tears were rolling down his rage-red face. "He's dead."

Berg then suddenly lost his rage, as he begun to cry harder.

"Why are you doing this? Did you think that we could somehow prevent it from happening?!" Cletus now turned enraged, as he yelled at Berg, while he then grabbed Berg by his hair. "We're all dead, Berg! And there's nothing that your sulking will do about it!"

Cletus finally let go of Berg, where his head then fell to the floor in emotion. As Cletus stood back-up straight, where he then walked back into the kitchen, leaving Marcus alone with Berg out in the living room.

INT. TERRENCE'S APARTMENT(HALLWAY) - MORNING

Eddie looked down at the slip of paper he was given by Larry.

"205," Eddie recited from the paper. As he found himself standing right in-front of the door, which he begun to knock on.

After waiting a while, there was no answer, as Eddie then knocked again.

"Terrence," Eddie called, as he continued knocked, where he then stopped out of frustration. And, while Eddie was about to walk away, finally Eddie heard somebody moan inside the apartment. "Terrence?..."

Eddie attempted to turn the doorknob, and was successful in opening the door, whereas Eddie then slowly walked into Terrence's apartment. The place looked like a disaster; furniture was moved in the wrong place, beer bottles lied virtually everywhere on the carpet, while some beer bottles were smashed on the kitchen floor. Eddie then breathed in from his nose, only to smell a foul odor in the room. Eddie looked around the apartment, trying to find Terrence, but in all the wrong places.

"What the hell are you doing here?" a lazy voice came from behind Eddie, as he realized Terrence was seated in the closet, right by the doorway. Eddie then marched over towards him to discover Terrence, covered from neck-to-toe in a variety of shoes. Eddie looked down in confusion at him, "They're my girlfriend's shoes... She loves shoes... I love shoes... You love shoes?..."

"Why not?" Eddie responded in relief to have found Terrence safe, as he begun to throw shoe-after-shoe off of Terrence.

CUT TO:

Eddie leads Terrence towards the couch, but Terrence quickly reaches down to the floor to snatch one of the many beer bottles. Terrence was about to drink down the remaining drops left inside the bottle, but Eddie then pulled the bottle right out of Terrence's hand, and placed it down to the floor. Terrence looked at Eddie in confusion.

"Was there nothing in it?" Terrence asked Eddie, as Eddie stepped in-front of Terrence, in order to get him safely seated on the couch.

"Wouldn't deny there being "something" inside," Eddie responded, as he finally sat Terrence down onto the couch.

"You could've said so," Terrence replied.

"No, you could've thanked me for having come over here to rescue you from your own wonderful mountain of shoes and sandals," Eddie said, as he begun to pick the beer bottles up off of the floor. "What happened here, anyhow? You throw a party on the day before work?"

"Not exactly," Terrence claimed. "I... had a friend over..."

"A girlfriend?" Eddie asked while he continued to pick up the beer bottles.

"Yeah."

"Well... is it safe to ask: Who?"

"Julie."

"Julie, that's gre-" Eddie then cut himself off and looked at Terrence in confusion, holding a pile of empty beer bottles in his arms. "...Julie's married, Terrence!"

"No she's not," Terrence replied, as Eddie then kicked the lid off of the garbage can and tossed the beer bottles he had collected inside, where there was a large smashing sound as the bottles collided with the bottom of the garbage can.

"Look, man," Eddie started. "I know you like her, but tht ring on her finger... means she's married."

"Well, guess what?"

"What?"

"You're wrong."

"No, I'm not."

"Okay, let's keep ourselves from going at it and just tell me then," Eddie thought for a moment. "What's the ring for, if it's not for a married couple?"

"It's her family's ring, her entire family has one," Terrence answered, as he begun to lay himself down onto the couch. Leaving Eddie with a confused look set across his face.

Chapter 12:
INT. RUNDOWN BUILDING(KITCHEN) - MORNING

Cletus was seated on a chair in-front of the table in the kitchen. He held his head in his palms, as he thought about what had just recently transpired. Marcus then came into the kitchen and st down in the seat next to Cletus.

There was a long pause, before Cletus begun to talk. "How did he die?" Cletus, refering to Taylor, asked Marcus.

"...I don't know," Marcus responded. "I'm not a doctor. I can only guess that he died due to natural causes."

"But how?" Cletus asked again.

"...Maybe he was down with the sickness," Marcus said, as he continued. "Maybe he didn't want to bother telling us."

Cletus hesitated to speak again. "How's Berg?"

"He's better now, just a little shaken up... just as we all are."

"...I guess we're not staying inside today, afterall."

"Where do you plan on burying him?"

"The Park, maybe. I'm not sure."

"We'll look around tonight," Marcus patted Cletus on the back. "We'll find a place for Taylor."

INT. TERRENCE'S APARTMENT - MORNING

Sobering up by the minute was Terrence, as he and Eddie communicated with each other on the couch.

"I still can't believe she's not married," Eddie remarks.

Terrence moaned. "Can't believe you brought that up again, Eddie!"

Eddie chuckles. "Sorry, man."

"Nah, it's okay," Terrence replied. "I'm just happy to have found out for myself."

"Why'd she leave you... like this?"

"Well... let's just say: I did most of the drinking."

"Really?"

"I mean really."

Eddie laughs, as he sits up on the each of the couch. "So... she went to work, because she could go?"

"Yes."

"And you stayed here, because you were too drunk to come in?" Eddie didn't have to await long for an answer.

"Affirmative."

Eddie took a moment to relax from the conversation.

"...Thanks for coming over, Eddie," Terrence thanked, as Eddie turned around towards Terrence.

"No problem, Terrence," Eddie replied, as he then paused for a moment. "But be sure to thank Larry as well."

Terrence then begun to laugh.

Chapter 13:
INT. NEWS ROOM - MORNING

Nothing much was happening today in the news room, as Anne recieved today's script from Bobby, as Anne quickly strolled through it.

"This is it?" Anne asked with a slight bitterness.

"Nothing much happening today, Anne," Bobby replied. "Look around the room, we're missing a bunch of people."

"Great, I waste bus-fare to come down here on a day like this, brilliant," Anne ranted. "I got the top ----in' story for today: "Butterflies Spotted Around the Sleepless City". Guess, right?"

"Dwayne says that if you don't want to do it today, you can leave," Bobby stated. "It's going to be hell working all of this equipment with a minor group of people like this."

"No," Anne denied. "Hell with it, we'll tape it now."

"Okay," Bobby accepted, as he then yelled at the camera crew. "Cameras set?"

The camera man responded positively to Bobby's question, as Anne made her way towards the desk and sat down in the seat, as she begun to sort out the sheets of paper.

"What's the top-story?" Anne questioned, as she looked through the pages, trying to find the one with the title attached.

"It should be labeled on one of the sheets," Bobby called, as Anne continued to look through them.

"No... there's nothing," Anne replied, as Bobby made his way towards Anne, as she then yelled. "There's nothing, God dammit! Who was the writer today?"

Bobby finally reached the front-desk, as Anne handed him the script's sheets.

"Well?" Anne repeated, awaiting an answer.

"David's away today also, so Russ took over," Bobby answered, while flipping through the pages.

"Well, you can go tell "Russ" to find himself some better glasses. Or senses, for one," Anne muttered to Bobby, as she then looked about for Russ, she then caught somebody who she presumed was Russ. "Are you Russ?"

"Yeah," the man responded, as he sat down in a chair with a can of soda in his hand.

"Well then what the ---- are you doing, dammit?!" Anne screamed at Russ. "Get over here, now!"

"Why?" Russ asked, just loud enough for Anne to hear.

"Get over here, now, you stupid -----!" Anne yelled even louder, as Bobby was fed up and flung his head up to look over at Russ.

"Russ," Bobby called. "Get up here, now! Alright?"

Russ finally got up, as he walked onto the set and up to the desk.

"Where's the top-story?" Bobby handed Russ the script-pages, where Bobby then set his can of pop on the front-desk.

"Nobody told me what the top-story should be," Russ explained, as Anne then looked up at him; with an enraged expression set across her face. Where, out of her rage, she then knocked Russ' pop can over, where he then cursed at her. "What the ----, -----?!"

"Are you stupid, or what?" Anne stood up from her seat, as she spoke over Russ. "If there's no label, you ----ing write it on there. What don't you ----ing understand?"

"Maybe I don't understand why you're such a -----, did somebody slap you in the face this morning?" Russ asked, without wanting an answer. "Or did you just forget to speak with your psychiatrist?"

"Stop it, dammit," Bobby yelled between them.

"You know what, ---- it... we'll do it tomorrow when we have a better writer in the room," Anne exchanged with Bobby, as she begun to walk towards the exit. "Call me when the boss fires him for ruining the show."

Bobby held Russ back, even though Russ hadn't attempted to move after Anne had left.

Chapter 14:
INT. TERRENCE'S APARTMENT - MORNING

While watching television with Terrence, Eddie's phone begins to ring, as he reaches into his pocket to pull it out.

"Hello?" Eddie spoke into the phone.

"Eddie," Anne responded on the other end. "I need to see you, now."

Eddie leapt up off of the couch.

"Are you alright?"

"...I just need to see you."

"Where are you?"

"At home."

Eddie then headed for the doorway, as Terrence followed behind him.

Once Terrence caught eye contact with Eddie, Terrence then motioned the with his mouth the words: "Where are you going?"

Eddie decided to do the same: "I gotta go."

Eddie then quickly put on his shoes, as he headed out the door.

CUT TO:

EXT. STREETS - MORNING

Eddie was running frantically through the city streets.

Into his view, he could see Anne's apartment before his eyes, as tried even harder to get to her.

INT. ANNE'S APARTMENT(LIVING ROOM) - MORNING

Anne walks up to her window in the living room, which showed a wondeful view of the streets below, where that was when she caught Eddie running to the apartment. Her eyes widened, as she then started running towards the door.

CUT TO:

Continuing his sprint to Anne's apartment was Eddie, as he finally reached the street at which her building was on.

CUT TO:

In the staircase, Anne was running frantically down the stairs themselves, as she finally reached the Floor 2 staircase.

CUT TO:

Finally reaching Anne's apartment building was Eddie, as he banged right into the front-door. Trying to pull out his keys as quickly as he could, he then tried to fit one into the door, but it was the wrong one.

"Dammit," Eddie dropped his keys down to the ground in frustration, as he ran along to another side of the building.

CUT TO:

Anne finally made it down to the apartment building's lobby, as she quickly ran outside of the door itself. But in her bare-feet, she stepped on the keys Eddie had dropped. As then quickly picked them up as she looked around, just in-time to catch a human figure cross around the side of the building. She then ran after the figure, too early to judge whether or not it'd be Eddie or not.

CUT TO:

In the alleyway, Eddie found himself a ladder that led to a fleet of staircase, leading up to one of the apartments in Anne's building. He then begun to climb the ladder, as quickly as possible.

CUT TO:

Finally, catching sight of Eddie climbing the ladder to the fleet of staircases. Anne, with the remaining breath she had, screamed as loud as she possibly could: "Eddie!"

And with the scream, Eddie caught the sound, as he turned to catch Anne in the alley with him. Eddie then quickly leapt off of the ladder, as he begun to run towards her.

Anne then saw Eddie running toward her, as she decided to do the same, as she ran as fast as she could with her sore feet. Where once the both reached within range of each other, Anne tripped over, but just in-time to catch her before she hit the ground. As he held her tight with both of his arms, as Anne tried to do the same to Eddie. Where she finally did, as both their cheeks were connected.

"I'm having a bad day today," Anne said, as Eddie laughed, even through his exhaustion.

"Not quite the same for myself, I must edmit," Eddie confessed, as Anne reached her hand up to Eddie's face.

"I want you," Anne begged. "I want you to move in, as soon as possible. I can't- I can't live one second without you."

Tears of joy begun to roll down Eddie's eyes, as he replied, "I'll be here, from now on."

And with that said, Anne quickly shot her head up with Eddie's, as the two kissed each other.

Chapter 15:
INT. RUNDOWN BUILDING(LIVING ROOM) - NIGHT

Berg sat, cross-legged, a few feet away from Taylor's corpse; which was still inside the garbage bag. Cletus was then revealed, leaned up-against the wall, as he looked down to the floor in a mourning manner. It remained silent for a few moments.

"...I'm sorry," Cletus finally broke the silence, as Berg finally changed his expression, slightly.

"...No, I am," Berg hesitated to say, as he kept his eyes on Taylor's covered corpse.

"You and Taylor were the best of friends," Cletus begun. "When me and Marcus found you both-"

"Stealing candy-bars from the corner store," Berg completed, as Cletus smiled.

"Yeah," Cletus accepted.

"...You were right, last night," Berg started. "We owe you so much for getting us off the street."

"...You don't owe me, nor Marcus, anything. We pulled you off the street because you seemed like the right-type of people, in a day and age so corrupted by society's laws. And what do people get in return for living by them?..."

"Nothing," Berg, once again, completed.

"...Nothing," Cletus repeated, as he then walked over and sat beside Berg. The both once again remained silent for a moment, as they stared at Taylor's corpse, lying motionless inside the garbage bag.

"No matter how loud you scream," Berg started, as Cletus turned to face him. "No one will ever care."

"...We will," Cletus added, as Berg turned over to face him. Cletus then pulled his hand up before Berg, as Berg then grasped Cletus' hand with his own.

"We'll bury him in the park," Berg stated. "...Tonight."

Cletus then nodded in approval.

Chapter 16:
INT. LANDLORD'S OFFICE(HALLWAY) - NIGHT

After having knocked on he door to the landlord's office, Eddie awaited him to answer, whereas the landlord himself finally had.

"Eddie, having trouble with the door again?" the landlord asked right away.

"No, I just wanted to come down and remind you about-"

"About the day when you'll be needing to break the lease?" the landlord guessed.

"Indeed," Eddie nodded in approval, as the landlord sighed.

"Well, it's a shame... I guess you won't be paying me $650 a month from now on," the landlord said in a lowly mood.

"I'll miss you too, Barry," Eddie dismissed himself from the conversation, as he then patted Barry, the landlord, on the shoulder and headed up the stairs.

"Eddie," Barry called, before Eddie made it all the way up the stairs, where Eddie then looked down at him. "You need a ride?"

Eddie then smiled.

"You are my hero, Barry."

"No..."

"You are!"

Eddie chanted, as he headed back up the stairs towards his apartment.

INT. ANNE APARTMENT(LIVING ROOM) - NIGHT

While seated on the couch, Anne caught a faint knock against her door, where she then got up from the couch and begun to walk towards the door. Until more knocking came along, where she then moved quicker across her apartment to answer the door. And between the door were both Barry and Eddie, holding a full load of boxes in their arms. Anne then immediately helped the both of them carry the boxes in, as she took 3/4 boxes Barry had been carrying.

"Where do I put this, ma'am?" Barry asked, looking around the room with the one box in hand, as Eddie and Anne set the boxes they had carried into the apartment in the middle of the living room. Where Anne and Eddie then looked back at Barry.

"You can just put it with these boxes," Anne pointed down to the boxes on the floor, where she then made her way towards Barry. "But, I can take the box."

"Anne," Eddie tried to call her back, but was too late.

Anne grabbed the box and tried to pull it out of Barry's hands, but he continued to hold onto it.

"No, no, no. Let go, now," Barry protested, as he finally pulled the box right loose from her grip. "My wife tells me I don't have what it takes to do the moving," Barry muttered under his breath, as he then set the box he had beside the others.

"Thanks a lot, Barry," Eddie went to shake Barry's hand, which he did, as Barry took hold of Eddie's hand.

"Not a problem, Eddie," Barry accepted. "But, just in case, you'll always know that "my" apartments are available," Barry stressed the word, as Barry then made his way back to the doorway, followed by Eddie and Anne.

"I don't think that case is going to be set anytime soon, Barry," Eddie confirmed. "Thanks for the help."

"Not a problem, see you all later," Barry waved back at them, as he entered back into the hallway.

"See you later, Barry," Eddie and Anne both called back, as Anne then closed the door, as she swung her back to leaning up-against it. Eddie then stepped in closer towards her, where she then found hold of his hands.

"How are we going to spend the night, tonight?" Anne asked enthusiastically, where she then placed Eddie's hands on her hips by her own doing, as she then wrapped her arms around Eddie's stomach and leaned up-against his chest.

"It's a special night, tonight," Eddie replied, as Anne looked back up at Eddie. "And I wouldn't want to waste one second of it."

"...Me neither," Anne said calmly, as she then suddenly changed her expression. "Do you want to go to the park?"

"Anne, you always ask with such joy," Eddie exchanged, as Anne continued looking up at him, where she was now smiling beautifully. "How can I ever pass you up?..."

"Sounds impossible," Anne joked, as Eddie chuckled.

"It is," Eddie replied, as he continued chuckling. "Sometimes."

Chapter 17:
EXT. PARK - NIGHT

The moon was fully lit as it shone through the park trees, reflecting off of the grass and fallen leaves, as it revealed Eddie and Anne walking through the park. Where Eddie's arm was wrapped around Anne's shoulder.

"What happened today to get you so upset?" Eddie asked Anne, as they continued walking through the park.

"I just," Anne hesitated to continue. "I just had a meltdown today, that's all."

"The pressure?" Eddie presumed.

"Yeah," Anne muttered.

"I face it all the time," Eddie begun, as Anne looked up at him. "Everyday. Work, having Aaron try and steal my work day-after-day. The frustration, of having such little time for myself. And to try and keep my sanity day-in and day-out."

"What can I do to help?" Anne asked, as Eddie then looked down at her.

"Be you," Eddie answered, as he then moved a strand of hair away from her face.

"I will," Anne confirmed, as the both of them then stopped in their tracks.

But suddenly, the crack of a twig-branch echoed behind the both of them, as Eddie then turned his head around, only to find himself struck across the face with a punch, as he then fell to the ground with the unexpected nature of the blow. As, it was revealed to be Cletus, Marcus and Berg. Marcus and Berg then went after Anne, who charged after Cletus, after he had struck Eddie, but was caught by the two before she could make it to Cletus.

Cletus then knelt down beside Eddie, where he then planted both of his hands over the back of Eddie's head, as he held Eddie's face down into the snow. Eddie tried his best to get loose from Cletus' grip, but couldn't, as he rotated his arms and legs back and forth in peril. Eddie then heard a scream coming from Anne, where suddenly, Cletus was pushed off of Eddie by Anne, where Marcus and Berg immediately went back to retain her. Only to have Eddie kick Berg square in the head, but to have Marcus throw his palm right into Eddie's face as he threw him down to the ground.

"Handle the -----," Cletus commanded Berg and Marcus, as he then dragged Eddie through the snow by grabbing hold of his hair. Eddie screamed in pain, as Cletus finally let him go, where he then turned around towards Anne, he then looked at her in curiosity. "You look really familiar to me..."

And, almost instantly after saying so, Cletus then kicked Anne right in the stomach, as she fell to her knees from the kick's impact. But, before Anne could even wince in pain, Eddie suddenly leapt Cletus, where the force of the attack threw Cletus right down to the ground, as Berg and Marcus released Anne to help get Eddie off of Cletus.

"Anne, run," Eddie croaked, as Berg and Marcus did their best to try and pull Eddie off of Cletus, as he held a tight grip around his shirt.

And finally, with tears rushing down her eyes, Anne took off down the park. Where she then begun to scream, "Help!" repeatedly.

Cletus laughs, as he looks down at Eddie, who has finally been pulled off of him. As Berg and Marcus hold Eddie down to the ground. "You have one, stupid ----- over there," Cletus stated, as he pulled out a gun from inside his jacket. "Running around, screaming, like that."

Cletus then turned around to where he saw her running, where he then pointed his gun at her and then shot. As across the field, she fell over to the impact of the bullet which had hit her.

"Yes," Cletus cheered, as he shot three rounds up at the sky. Marcus and Berg both laughed. Whereas Eddie screamed in rage. Cletus then moaned, "Shut up!" And finally, Cletus went to shoot Eddie, but, to Eddie's surprise, Cletus missed. As the bullet went into the ground, almost right next to Eddie's head. Eddie then shook in fear, as he tried to free himself from Berg and Marcus' grip. "I wouldn't kill you like that... That'd be too easy."

Eddie looked up in rage at Cletus, as tears begun to roll down his eyes. Until suddenly, Cletus then threw his foot down right into Eddie's stomach, where Eddie begun to scream in pain, as Berg and Marcus now let Eddie go, to allow Cletus to inflict more punishment on him.

Eddie then rolled over to his stomach, in an attempt to protect that area of his body, but it didn't matter. As Marcus, Berg and Cletus all begun to stomp on Eddie's back, as Eddie screamed even louder with every passing blow. Eddie then continued his screaming, even after they were finished, whereas Cletus then pulled Eddie off of the ground and onto his feet, as he then swung his forearm around Eddie's neck, and struck him hard right in his Adam's apple. Immediately after the blow, blood came rushing from Eddie's mouth, as he fell down to the ground. Unwilling to move.

"Find me a nice, strong branch, so I can poke the hell out of this guy. Would ya, Berg?" Cletus joked, as Berg then laughed in approval, as he ran behind one of the bushes, in an attempt to find the kind of branch Cletus was searching for. Cletus then looked down at Eddie, with an evil grin set across his face. "This is the end for you, my friend."

"Hey, Cletus," Berg called from behind the bush, where he then suddenly popped up from behind it with the branch in his hand. "I got it!"

But suddenly, gunfire came from across the park, as Berg was shot in the shoulder. As one of the bullets from across the park went through the bush, which supposedly hit Berg in the knee, as he fell face-first into the bush, screaming in pain.

"----," Cletus cursed, as he took cover behind a tree, whereas Eddie begun his slow crawl towards Anne. Cletus and Marcus both shot in the direction where the gunfire against them had originated, and it appeared to be two police officers who were shooting. "Marcus, get the hell out of here! I'll meet you both back at the rundown, go now!"

Marcus nodded in acceptance, as he pulled Berg out of the bush and went running in the opposite direction of the gunfire, as Cletus continued shooting in the police officer's direction. Until, finally, he ran out of bullets, where he then pulled out a new magazine from inside his jacket. And before he decided to shoot back in their direction again, Cletus then aimed his gun at Eddie. But, as he was about to shoot, more shots came from the officers, which caused Cletus to miss hitting Eddie again. As he shot two rounds back into the ground. But, thinking he hit Eddie, Cletus then took off in the same direction as Berg and Marcus, while he continued to fire rounds in the officer's direction.

More blood came rushing from Eddie's mouth, as he crawled closer and closer to where Anne was last seen, before she was hit by the bullet. Suddenly, from out of the darkness, came the two officers who had started the gunplay, as they then caught sight of Eddie.

"Oh, my God," one of the officer's was sickened, as he sprinted after Eddie. Where he then knelt right next to him, as he pulled a handkerchief out of his shirt pocket and held it underneath Eddie's blood-ridden mouth. The officer then looked back at his partner. "Get back to the car, call for back-up and get the vehicle in here immediately. We've got to get him to the hospital."

While the other officer ran off back to where they came from, Eddie tried to speak, but was unsuccessful, as his voice only croaked with the pain in his throat. But, since he couldn't speak, he then threw his hand up into the direction of where Anne was. The officer noticed this.

"There's someone over there?" the officer asked. Eddie then nodded in approval. "Come on."

The officer then threw Eddie's arm over his shoulder, as he lifted Eddie off of the ground and they both begun to walk in Anne's direction.

Chapter 18:
INT. HOSPITAL(HALLWAY) - NIGHT

Straped down to a stretcher was Eddie, as he suddenly opened his eyes to the bright white lights over his head. Frantic, he looked around in confusion, as everything seemed to be moving so slowly. He then spotted the officer he had been with in the park eariler. He tried to speak, but couldn't, as a breathing mask was held over his mouth. Not to mention what happened earlier.

"I must've blacked out," Eddie narrated, as the doctors rushed Eddie down the hallway and into the emergency room. "I wasn't strong enough to make it to my Anne."

One of the doctors then closed both the doors shut.

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - MORNING

Darkness was spread out all around the room.

"Had they fixed me?" Eddie narrated, as suddenly the door opened to the hospital room at which Eddie was in. From the light out in the hallway, Eddie could make out the figure of the officer who had rescued him last night.

"I'm about to turn on the lights, so... be prepared," the officer warned Eddie, as he closed his eyes, even so, the heavy white light still somehow leaked through, as Eddie felt like he was about to cry.

The officer then walked into the room and sat in the chair next to Eddie.

"Is she alright?" Eddie asked, while he continued to hold his eyes closed, as he also gradually begun to open them.

"Anne's fine," the officer answered, as Eddie then smiled, as he finally opened his eyes all the way, where he then turned to face the officer.

"How do you know her name?"

Without answering himself, the officer picked up a clipboard from the table at the end of Eddie's bed which had all of Eddie's information on it, as he reflected it towards Eddie.

"I see," Eddie nodded. "So what's your name?"

"Timothy MacGregor, but... call me Tim," the officer answered, clarifying that his name was Tim.

"Nice to meet you, Tim," Eddie greeted Tim with a handshake.

"Likewise," Tim replied, as he shook Eddie's hand. "You both are quite lucky, we have reason to believe those three men from last night; who attacked you. Were responsible for that young child's death a few days ago."

"Somebody's going to have to find them," Eddie told Tim.

"Not you."

"Of course not, that's why the city has you. They don't call you "New York's Finest" for nothing."

Tim then laughed, as Eddie tried to get up from the bed.

"The doctors recommended you not to do that," Tim said with a weary eye.

"Yeah? Well the doctors can stick it up their ass," Eddie responded, as Tim smiled with delight.

"I like you already, Eddie Brock," Tim complemented.

"Thanks," Eddie said without care, as he focused all of his energy on getting up and out the door. Tim then stood up from the chair, as he helped Eddie off of the bed. "Thanks again."

"No problem, I'll take you to her room," Tim replied, as he found a cane next to the doorway, which he handed to Eddie to help him with walking, as they both then made their way out of the room.

CUT TO:

Into a deep sleep was Anne, as her shoulder was taped around by gauze to help her wound, which happened to be a bullet in the shoulder from earlier. As it was then revealed that Eddie and Tim were standing outside of her room, as they peered at her through the long plate of glass.

"When will she be out?" Eddie asked Tim, without even taking his eyes off of Anne.

"Should be a few days, she just needs some time to rest," Tim answered, as he then looked over at Eddie.

"It's still too long," Eddie replied, as he continued to leave his eyes set on Anne.

"You'll be together again soon," Tim attempted to cheer Eddie up.

"I know."
