Arrow Can someone please explain Warner blocking certain characters from tv appearances?

Bronze Tiger will be in Suicide Squad the movie as well;

Common is a pretty recognisable actor and he didn't appear in that cast photo. So let's say he dies, I suspect that would facilitate the character's return to Arrow.

'You can have Argus, suicide squad and amanda waller..'

*writes and starts long suicide squad/HIVE arc on a 5 year plan.. gets 3 years into it*

'Ahh you can't have them anymore but here's R'as Al Ghul and an old batman comic storyline you can shoehorn in instead, don't worry people will love it'

In my head, that's what happened to Arrow Season 3.

I'd believe it.

Again I have to ask if you aren't going to allow character overlap then why keep the universes separate? You might as well just say they are the same. And retcon any continuity errors that come up.
I was thinking along the same lines.

*1000th Post!

More like...

DC Execs: "You can't use them."

Arrow Writers: "...*Continues to write poorly*"

After the mess they made with Slade in season 2 it's really no surprise if they started with-holding characters.

DC Execs: "Okay, you can use Harley Quinn... *Sees Slade vowing revenge against Oliver because a woman he knew for three months was killed and because he's crazy now because sciencey drug made him crazy*... No. Give her back. Use what's her name instead... *Drags Harley away from them*"

Oh yeah and bronze tiger getting killed off-screen in a comic that very few people read.

Yeah.....No.....

I bet when they heard of the possibility of actually being able to use a well known character like Ra's as the villain, they jumped on the opportunity to. I doubt WB forced them to use a big character like Ra's. If anything I'm willing to bet the Arrow crew had to persuade WB to let them use the character.

And about HIVE, they're a big part of S4.

This entire conversation is a whole lot of "Much Ado About Nothing". The show is not going to be negatively impacted in any way by a half-dozen supporting characters now being 'off-limits', especially in light of the myriad of other characters they do have access to.

No one's forcing you to participate.

What makes you think that's Bronze Tiger?

So let me get this straight....Arrow can't use Green Lantern(Hal Jordan) because he is being used in the movies and it might confuse people?

But, Warner is ok with 4 different verses going on at the same time....

Movie-verse
Arrow/Flash-verse
Gotham-verse
Supergirl-verse

All all completely seperate. Yeah....that's simple. Wouldn't want anyone to confuse movie Slade from Arrow Slade.

Just amazes me is that normally you can't mesh universes because different studios might own different properties. Here we have a case where one studio controls all of their properties and still can mesh them all.

Is Supergirl separate from Arrow and Flash?

I don't think that's been decided yet. Then again, if it's cancelled, they can wrap her story up on Arrow or Flash.

Supergirl *should* be separate, since its setting is radically incompatible with the one established in Arrow and Flash. Whether this means anything is anyone's guess.

Honestly I can only see Supergirl being brought into the fold through a multiverse crossover with The Flash.

I was thinking of the Birds of Prey tv show from TheWB and I was surprised that DC allowed Batman/Catwoman/Joker/Harley/Alfred to all appear. Now they are being careful as hell with what characters they allow to show up.
