I don't play shooters on consoles, but just going from the top of my head, all of these games are good with a few envelope in some way such as a distinguish art direction, hybrid gameplay, graphics, destructible enviroments, interactive enviroments or scale. From that list alot of games are being excluding due to personal preference Bioshock (1), Operation Flashpoint 2 and Call Of Duty (s). We don't even know if this game will turn out good, a long dev time doesn't automatically mean a good game. Remember Daikatana? Neither does a snazzy trailer. I'd actually be surprised if it ended up being better than many of the games listed.

Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, STALKER, Killing Floor, and Bad Company 2 were great games I can see myself replaying for years to come. But as a PC and console player, I can recall a lot more that I'd rather forget. From what I can tell, Duke Nukem Forever looks like a game that's living up to 3D's legacy in interactivity and fun. After an E3 with about five or six shooters that looked exactly the same I couldn't care less about the development time. I just need it.

Let's not even mention Daikatana. That game wasn't just a disappointment, it was one of the worst video games in history.

I'm not expecting more than an average fps, but i'm still gonna buy it. After all, it's f'n Duke Nukem Forever! Duke's one-liners and attitude can carry this game a long way.

Wow, thats very surprising. All that extra stuff for $40? Very reasonable and affordable. I really thought it would be $150 for it, but $100 is good

What can't you enjoy it now? It may be a bit juvenile, but there is good genuine satirical humor to be found in Duke. It's not Bulletstorm juvenile.

They don't get that's what the franchise is about. It's not exactly a parody, but it's a very tongue in cheek thing that pokes fun at the seriousness of other games.
