if they were gonna can it from the start why not just give it a proper ending and not the guessing ending? GODDAMN IT! i hate when studio's do that.
Don't bring that up; I've been mad about that since "Benson".

Good. Maybe now they will start making watchable comic book tv series.
YES INDEED spike did mess up by makeing the female lead the main character
now maybe a better marvel super HERO[ blade is A HORROR CHARACTER NOT a superhero]can get a tv show
and the blade forum can be replaced by one for fantastic four worlds greatest heroes:ninja:

The cameos-unless they were occult-based characters-wouldn't have worked.
i hear that spike should've gone with a marvel SUPER HERO not a horror character:ninja:

Blade wasn't a bad choice; he had a following, the premise was good, it needed a little touching up here & there. I'm actually very skeptical of a TV show centering on a costumed hero. Theyu can never seem to get it right once costumes & secret identities come into play.

A la "Spawn"? Because that's the only way it'll have a hope of working.:ninja:

Not like spawn, but how he was animated during the spiderman TAS 90's run. even thouh fox exec's put the weights on the spiderman series, blade still rocked in the series. thats how he should be presented. keep the same voice actor & tweak up the animation a bit.

I meant more in terms of the themes & maturity level, not necessarily the style. Blade doesn't belong on Saturday mornings. BTW-I think the Spider-Man version of him left much to be desired, especially in terms of the voice & just the overall characterization. That season alone we got watered-down versions of Blade, (Who couldn't use any blades) the Punisher (Who wasn't allowed to shoot) & Morbius. (Who wasn't allowed to bite) If you have to go to those lengths to make the character appropriate for your demographic, don't put them on the show.

I agree with Wallace here. I think Blade was the type of 'hero' show Spike thought would appeal to their demographic the best, more so than a story about a costumed guy.

Blade allowed for more mature subject matter, sex, blood, and you could tell a variety of different types of stories, from sci-fi, horror, drama, etc.

I said in the beginning that this show would only last two seasons because of their choice in Sticky, but it only lasted one season. I blame the casting.

even though blade got watered down, i still think he did more than you let on. back on topic: i only watched like what 2 to 5 minutes of this show. it was the part where blade was getting beating up by another guy. & i didn't like what i saw or heard.

the way he delivered those lines felt forced & the grough voice felt odd. kinda like bale's role in batman begins. i just kept cringeing at it. & the dialog between him & that guy that was beating him was awfull.

i changed the channel quick! but i then i went back agian & watched it again for like half an episode. i was impressed a little. it got better over time. & i think that if it got greenlighted another season it would of gotten better.

the guy playing blade would mold right into the role more if not better.

Over on Sticky's myspace page he's changed his main pic (which was a pic of him as Blade) no official word form him, ,but it doesn't look good.

Can Lost get its own forums since Blade hype is going to be gone ? But I guess the new Fantastic Four cartoon & or Legion Of Superheroes can also take its place

They say it was b/c this show's attention decreased as it went on. Give me a break!:o I think bad ratings would've been a better reason to cancel after one season. In conclusion I say ***k Spike TV! They shouldn't have rights to any comicbook TV shows whatsoever.

PS They probably should've waited a longer time after Blade: Trinity to start a TV series. Don't forget there's always the chances of a movie reboot coughBatmancough.

If anything, the show got 10x better as it progressed.
I bet some people saw the pilot, and just didn't care to watch it again. :down

Anyway, f*** Spike.
The Dudesons can stay on the air, but Blade (Clearly superior) gets canned. :whatever: :whatever:   :cmad: :cmad:

People love seeing other people getting hurt for real. That and its cheap.

I'm not surprised it got cancelled, even I never knew what day it was on and Spike TV never did any publicity for it.

I liked Jackass, but that has been done.
We don't need The Dudesons. :down

...Stupidness.

The guys from jackass said the Dudesons were first.

...Too bad they didn't get that TV deal first.
Oh well.

*Still venting over Blade*

I'm not surprised cause Blade wasn't really the star & you can only go so far with the vampire storyline before it gets old. Hopefully Marvel will have a Deadpool, Daredevil, or Moon Knight show becuase they could work as shows, a lot better than movies! Then it would take place in the MU and have guest stars. I'd say start it on the sci fi channel and go from there. What I don't understand about Spike is how can you cancel a show that came on 5 nights a week? That doesn't make sense. There has to be more going on behind the scenes.

I am also another Blade fan who is very upset that this show is now confirmed cancelled. I really enjoyed it and thought it was a great show. Wednesday nights won't be the same.
Now I'm waiting to buy the series on DVD....

By the way, **** you Spike TV.

I just read an article on IGN about the show. TV just sucks these days. The decent ones are cancelled while Garbage like Survivor and American Idol continue to get renewed. I'm sick of the reality shows, Law and Order, CSI, and the freaking sitcoms. I think this is a bad move by Spike. It would be nice to get some kind of conclusion to the story arc of season one.

I thought this would happen. Well I least I won't see stickys horrible fighting and acting anymore.

And so....

Goyers idea of an "ensemble" cast that stole the focus away from the main character didn't pan out.

His choice of Sticky over Michael J. White didn't pan out.

He obviously went with what HE wanted on the TV set, not what America nor Spike TV wanted on the set.

I say, I'm sorry that the CAST (whom other than Sticky, were perfectly cast) and the crew won't have this gig anymore. I'm sorry for the fans of Blade that expected more. I'm sorry for Spike TV not recouping their investment.

BUT, Goyer did this more than Spike TV. At least Spike gave the show a chance.

Goyer didn't care about the Blade character from the get go IMHO. Blade was a vessel for Goyer to create a vampire universe. One that IMHO he felt could survive even if the main character on the show was a LOT less interesting than his supporting cast.

I'm not sorry Goyer wasn't successful with this.

Hopefully he will pass on the rights to the Blade character to someone that actually wants a strong, commanding Blade at the helm.
