I've just finished reading the account of Captain America's funeral-I liked the idea of the Star Spangled Avenger getting the kind of send off given to a deceased President( Lincoln, Roosevelt, Kennedy). There are some unanswered questions though. Was the service ecumenical -as we don't know which religious denomination he belonged to( unlike cahracters such as The Invisible Woman or Human Torch- (Catholic) or the Thing/Shadowcat/Songbird( Jewish) Such as who is to receive the royalties from his memoirs as he is has no known next of kin/heirs( at least none that we know of)- as the Avengers have no need of them( the Maria Stark Foundation takes care of their needs and anyway at least three-Tony Stark, Janet Van Dyne and Simon Williams-better known as Iron Man, The Wasp and Wonder Man- are independently wealthy). The Captain's comrades in arms( US military, law enforcement and emergency services personnel could really use them.
What about the heroes/heroines of other countries that Cap worked with or encounteredAlpha -(or Omega) -Flight Winter Guard, The Black Panther-were they present or did they just send their regrets? Is Namor really going to keep Cap's body preserved( shades of Lenin,Stalin or Mao!) for all eternity?

Obviously it's non-denominational, there's no indication of any religious iconography

just taking a random guess - Cap has a charity set up in his name. Or the US government owns his likeness.

People who wanted to come and could come did, those who didn't or couldn't didn't.

They mentioned it on a few news stations as well.

Here's the real question?

Who/What was in the Casket that was Burried? If the real body of Cap was sent with Namor then who/what was birried? Hmmm, Tony seemed quick to dismiss the question without answering it....

I'm betting that in that Casket is the real Tony Stark.

I once read in a Captain America novel( i forget the title and author both) some years back that Cap had indeed prepared his memoirs(presumably for posthumous publication and security vetted by the Government-although it is unclear what could possibly remain secret-apart from his identity-which he revealed anyway publicly- so long after the end of WWII).

I doubt it's the body of "the real" Tony Stark. But that is interesting. My guess is that it's just an LMD.

I like the body of the real Tony Stark theory the best.

I'm not sure I understand the initial question about royalties. Captian America was a cration of the American Government. All royalties would go to them. I mean yeah, Steve Rogers was a man, but he was a soldier. He was government property. At least that's the argument our government would make.

Though part of me thinks it's a pointless question, since you know they'll be bringing him back before you know it.

I would hope even the US government as viewed through the eyes of Marvel's very left-leaning writers wouldn't try to claim that Steve Rogers' memoirs are somehow the property of the government. Yes, he was a soldier and they have every right to censor any material that's still classified out of his memoirs, but he was also an individual human being. His memories are his own property and should go to whomever they're willed to. If they weren't willed to anyone and Cap has no next of kin, sure, turn it over to the government in that case. But that should be a last resort, not some kind of foregone entitlement.

It was Rand.
