Casino Royale Villian Thread

What identifying features do the villians have in Royale? All I know is that Le Chiffre is an intelligent, saudistic, poker champion. I want them to make the villians memorable and easily identifiable. A lot of Bond villians are memorable but just as many are mundane and boring.

Since this is a casino flic...ala cards and chips...it may be cool to see a villian that can throw playing cards and have them cut throats or stab people and kill them. Or maybe some poker chips that were mini bombs or such. Just a thought...

Le Chiffre will have a scar by his eye, and he will cry blood.

And if I am not mistaken he also has a dry/white eye. I find it quite spooky.

It's S.P.E.C.T.R.E. And we all miss it, sadly it won't come back.

Actually, it's just SPECTRE (no periods): SPECIAL EXECUTIVE for COUNTER-INTELLIGENCE, TERRORISM, REVENGE, and EXTORTION.

I am sure Q will come up with something to fit the stituation. A lot of time takes place in a Casino...ala Casino Royale. So, I am positive Bond will be given some sort of altered poker chips or something else having to do with a Casino.

Oh thank god he doesn't. Bond's gadgets in the film are few and very grounded - there's nothing like sonic-emitting rings or x-ray glasses or exploding cufflinks.

And Q doesn't even appear in CASINO ROYALE (making this the second time he's been absent in the Bond franchise - the first was LIVE AND LET DIE).

No Q!?!?!?! I love John Cleese as Q.

Well, Q wasn't in the novel, and they didn't feel like putting him in the film. Frankly, John Cleese's Q is far too jokey for the darker tone of CASINO ROYALE, and it's quite plausible that Cleese will not return to the franchise.

I'm glad Q isn't in it and their being true to the book. Some gadgets are really corny, and if this is going to bre a darker Bond film, It would be stupid for him to swim through a lake filled with aligators in an aligator suit like in Octopussy. But I guess it could be okay to have some stupid gadgets. Licence To Kill was very dark, yet it had plastic explosives desguised as tooth paste.

My firend got me some screencaps from the offcial site among them are pics of Le Chiffre, Dimitrios, Kratt, Obanno, and Valenka which are the second and third pics in the second row with one showing Le Chiffre handing a torn playing card(the one from the teaser) to Dimitrios while Kratt looks on and the other one shows Valenka being held by Obanno's henchman with him standing close by in the suit. Some other pics also with Lieter and Mathis and some we have seen before. Also the two fuzzy pics near the bottom are of the Venice set at Pinewood, which is the scene of the destructive climax. Enjoy! :)

I like Cleese, but as Q he was just a clown, he is far too jokey for the character and series IMO, and I wouldn't mind if he doesn't return in the franchise.

John Cleese is hilarious and his predecessor Q joked with Bond as well. Q was always used as the comic relief from all the action and IMO I thought it was great. Have a laugh in the middle of the film.

Q was funny, but the character was serious and rarely joked. That's what made him funny: he was never joking about his work and found Bond childish. Cleese can play the serious clown quite well, but in comedies, so far he was not convincing at Q. Not at all.

Yeah but with moderation. Cleese' Q is excessive imo.
